For me, I have known bitcoin to my friend because he introduced it to me in 2015. On that year, I try it and earn some few amounts of bitcoin, but I become uninterested because of the environment; on that year, it's illegal to my country and doesn't have any support. That's the reason why. But when the time that a company in our state accepts bitcoin, I become interested again, especially when it becomes legal and expensive. Smiley

I remember those days when Ponzi and hyip business being offered and produced numbers of lucky early birds investors. Bitcoin was become a known investment venue for a quick profits. And when the business start to show it's true color a lot of people got disappointed and start crying that bitcoin
is a scam. Lucky for those who continue looking for much deeper not just for quick gains but to understand the benefits of the system that being offered.

Hmm, the only thing that I know about bitcoin before I become a bitcoiner is that it is just some sideline jobs in the internet where I can earn money. I even misinterpreted it on a networking scheme. That's the only thing that I know before. Luckily, my classmates in senior high school introduce me here and teach me everything that I need to know, so I am thankful to them, really.

Not your Keys, Not your Bitcoins
Back in 2014 when I wanted to start making some money online on the side, I have knew literally nothing about cryptocurrency. A friend of mine introduced me to, at that time, CEX.IO cloud mining contracts and some faucets. That's when I got a burning passion for Bitcoin and the blockchain technology which literally has the power to change the world for the better. I have a lot of regrets for not discovering Bitcoin when I could mine it with dimes, but I guess I hadn't enough exposure to what is happening in the world. This is a good lesson to always look for the next big thing! Wink

It was an interesting story regarding familiar with Bitcoin, I didn't know about blockchain or Bitcoin or anything like, I just discovered it throughout the random browsing on the internet, earlier of discovering this matter, I didn't take seriously and I didn't put my attention on this platform, I didn't have any prediction or speculation regarding this issue even i didn't have any interest for this platform anymore. I was thinking that this type of platform come and go so it's not an important matter could be for me, But after getting a touch in Bitcointalk forum then my mindset was getting changed and gradually I was involving with this system. but the journey was not very comfortable for me, I have tackled a lot of barriers and lost many things during that early journey with Bitcoin.

Before becoming a bitcoiner, I heard Bitcoin could generate lots of profit but I did not understand the full concept of its investment. Other articles also presented negative tags about it because most of the people out there with limited knowledge in crypto still have the misconception that Bitcoin is involved in some sort of scam. This is why, the crypto community, each member must endeavor to stand the position to correct the public on such misconceptions.

Clueless!
I got into this in 2013 out of boredom. Was going to put up my old BBS game server back up (was huge) $60 a month it would be in electric

and around $2.5k to lever the thing back up with equipment etc. I also had the 'book' version of Game of Thrones Swords ( I got them because

I thought George RR Martin was the next Tolkien...I nailed that!) HBO announced Game of Thrones TV Series. So I kept walking by the Swords and

finally sold them all for $2.5K with the other set aside $2.5k I figured I could get a KNC BTC Jupiter miner (It was I think $5,301.80?) instead and

looking at difficulty at the time I ordered it (July 2013) I figured it might ROI in 9 months and maybe I'd get another 6 months out of the beast

to pay for house utilities before it went doorstop. Also, in 2013 was a big push to help the new thing 'micro-lending' in India and such so I figured

what the heck, see if it helps the world. The day I turned it on October 18th, 2013 I think I made ONE BTC a day and BTC at least some time that particular

day and cranked the unit up and when I looked, it was at $150 USD per BTC. Thus, you know the rest. Shortly after this, all heck broke loose and the roller coaster ride began.

But in reality, I started it rather than a game server out of boredom and to help micro-lending and maybe pay for its own electric and perhaps some modest

return on utilities. So by whatever measure, even if the whole shebang goes full tulips and beanie babies. It has allowed me to retire 3 years early and been

a hell of a lot of fun. An yes, I am still in HODL mode. From $18k to $3.2k and now back to $8.6k.

What the heck, some people Skydive or free rock climb or dive with sharks...I HODL...pretty much the same sense of fear/wonder/dread and euphoria for any I guess.

Chump or Champ. We will see.

I still think I remember what happened at the start of my bitcoin adventure, I believe it started around the time that GPU and ram as well started going up in price, and I was looking at prices for a new PC to upgrade to and I ended up getting confused at how expensive everything was.

I looked into what made the prices climb so much, and then realised it was mostly due to crypto mining, I spent like an entire night reading about it and also learned how BTC worked for the most part, and then I started looking at forums, etc, and learning more as time goes on.

In recent years I also mined bitcoin and participated in events that were paid for with bitcoin and I managed to collect bitcoin at that time, but at that time I was bored with bitcoin because the price was rather cheap at that time, and in the end I decided to stop mining bitcoin at that time, and for some reason now I am tempted again by bitcoin because I see now that bitcoin is very well developed.

Well for me, I first heard about bitcoin back in 2011 when this community was very small. In fact, I only went to Reddit and bitcoin.wiki to learn new things about bitcoin. During that time I never took bitcoin seriously because I was learning about web development and networking. I only got serious about bitcoin when the price hit the roof back in 2017.

I received all the real information about currencies on the bitcointalk forum.  Back in 2015, I managed to hear something about cryptocurrency, but at that time I really did not understand what it was and for a long time I generally imagined everything differently until I started to study this area of activity more thoroughly.

wish I knew more about bitcoin when I started in 2011
the times when you could claim 0.1-0.5 a day from faucets and mine same amount with your GPU
I only started reading about what bitcoin was in 2013 , in 2014 I had several GPU mining rigs
five - six years ago bitcoin was something extraordinary , for geeks , at least that was how I perceived it first
I remember how shocked I was when it went up to 0.2$ from like 0.01-0.2$
hindsight is always 20/20 , wish I was smart enough to not blow my bitcoin stash at the time

I started with zero knowledge in Bitcoin. I was clueless and I even thought of it as a Ponzi scheme until a friend of mine introduced it to me. He was patient to explain how Bitcoin works as an investment. I joined this forum and I read different articles until I gained lots of knowledge about it. I have thought that Bitcoin itself is just digital money until I discovered how big the crypto world is.

I learned about it somewhere in 2013, when I was looking for the simplest ways to make money online. That time, I found out that one of the simplest ways to do it was mining. In 203, it was possible to mine using PC and getting some profits, so that it was the start. Later, when Bitcoin started showing its growth, YouTube channels helped me a lot to understand that crypto is our future.
