I learned to swim with the big fish in https://1broker.com/?c=faq

I learned what CFD's are and how you can go long and short on these derivatives, with very small investments.

It's something to consider, if you do not have a lot of BTC and you want to trade.  Wink

I learned that Lamborghini was the first ever car company to accept Bitcoin in exchange for cars. And also, the largest (I believe) Bitcoin transaction, which saw 194,993.50000004 BTC move. Link to that transaction is here: https://blockchain.info/tx/1c12443203a48f42cdf7b1acee5b4b1c1fedc144cb909a3bf5edbffafb0cd204

Just something I'd thought would be interesting.

Cracking ECC means cracking all the possible privkeys for bitcoin address, right?

Sort of...But it would only apply the addresses that have their public keys known (the ones that sent funds before)

Yep well to to my memory its when you can use previous transactions to break the private key
It happened a while back when blockchain did something stupid and made a weak R signature luckily someone was scanning the blockchain for such a weakness and saved most of those coins.

Today I learned that less is more.

And that you can only gain bitcoins if you work very very hard, anything less will not get you very far in the bitcoin world. Its very compatitive.

i learned more about trading , how encryption really work(i didint' know that you couldn't brute force 128 for example)

and about mining in general(mining brought me on learning some coding, software like ccminer, were i contributed in adding some algo, nothing special but it was fun)

Amazing how many people get turned on to coding and encryption through Bitcoin.  I've spent much time studying elliptic curve cryptography solely because of Bitcoin!

Cracking ECC means cracking all the possible privkeys for bitcoin address, right? I've read a thread on the Services section about ECC and trying to (I don't know if this is the correct term) "solve" something out of it. I'm not a math geek nor I know anything about those jargon so I simply read those thread and didn't reply anything to it. As the thread progresses, someone pointed out that cracking ECC means cracking the privkey of any bitcoin address available, though it requires a huge amount of computing power to achieve. Iirc, the name of the user who posted that topic is Evil-Knievel, and his threads are always related to maths. If there is a subscribe option here in bitcointalk, I would definitely be his number 1 subscriber.

Anyway...would be interested to hear when someone learns something, anything really, about Bitcoin.  Doesn't matter if it's a basic how-to, an interesting fact, a new way to spend/procure it, news, lesson learned or some new breakthrough or groundbreaking discovery!  Let's hear it...

I learned that tomorrow 2/3 of all Bitcoins that will ever exist will have been mined.

Really...this is amazing.   The projections are out there,  but still incredible how fast things are moving.

I learned that Wall Street is starting to go "nuts"  over Bitcoin...and that the more aggravated the haters get, seems to indicate that more progress is being made by the Bitcoin ecosystem...

Almost any new knowledge I gain about bitcoin comes from Coindesk these days, so most recently for me is the news about bit2me cancelling their fees to stay competitive.

Edit: I also just learned a bunch of things by reading the comments on this thread lol (e.g. the 2/3 bitcoins mined as mentioned above).

I learned that government are now overarching and their powergrab is now more and more.

The new taxes, regulations over EU , UK and USA, are now speeding up.

And also a few positive news like the relation between the NASDAQ and Bitcoin improved, and a few misc news.

In general i got more optimistic about bitcoin.

I've learned that if you pay a fee of 0.000 you risk that your transaction may be stuck indefinitely in the blockchain trying to get confirmed. Scary :s
