What's fun to them is to get close in the market at all times. Yeah, that's the reality as if the market is already attached to their bodies and can't be removed.

That's how they enjoy their lives and whatever they're doing like some kind of activities, they're still trying to max out their time and opportunity by watching and getting close to the market.

I was just wondering what the life of full time trader or merchant trader or big whale investor would look like, and one question that seem to strike my curiosity is, what do big time traders or merchants or whale investors do for fun?
What do they do as a hobby that keeps them focused on their task?
Do they see movies while trading and waiting for an outcome or do something else during the time?

I would appreciate the comments from active traders more because it would give a proper insight on how it would look like if I finally make my way into the trading or the investing world and just need to keep focus.
Haha very good question, I am not a big trader but believe me trading is full of tention where you have to check token price after every 20 second. First it's difficult to get right entry point especially when btc volatility is not in normal stage like in these days. I love to take risk on new and volatile coins. I don't like coins which are looking dead like DOT,Links etc despite of their potential in the long term

Back to you question, My hobby is to complete other earning task including airdrops and games (which gives real money). When ever I lost, I go for playing non earning games to control over my emotion. Every trader have their own hobby and i have explained what's really happened with me while trading.
I do agree that having a hobby that pays is a lot better. Airdrops and games could be good because you could get paid, anything else could do fine as well. For example, for the past 6 months or so I have been trying to learn graphic design and AI at the same time, that way I could do stuff like logos and such with AI, that's where the life is going these days and you do not have to make the whole logo that way, you can make parts of it, like icons, and then you can get better.

It is easier than I imagined, you just make an icon related to the business using AI, and then you write on photoshop with a background colour, and there you have it, a brand logo. Didn't assume it would be this simple, but I like learning, maybe one day in the future I can make money with it.

Well, i'm not a whale trader/investor but I can share what I usually do while waiting for the result of my trade. Since I also have a day job, I just trade as my side hustle hence i'm not the type who often monitor the market. Still focus to what I used to do and have a set time on when to check my trades.

Anyway, I just recently return back as a trader due to the good market condition. This is usually the case everytime bull run seems approaching, traders are becoming active.

I got the opportunity to sit at dinner with a huge trader/influencer on X recently. Asked him this same question and I was surprised to hear that all of his hobbies revolve around the web3. As long as he's at home or in the office, he's either trading, searching for new potential big name NFTs to buy or looking for staking options and events to work his spare funds. Told me about how he recently made a ton of money contributing liquidity to a recent listing on bitget. Apparently, that's smtn most of us small time crypto traders are sleeping on.
Am very sure that in-between the time he spends making strategic, he may indulge in gaming. We know how web3 has great games that can keep one glued for sometime forgetting every other thing to do. Well, nothing beats making money especially when there are dependents, a project, to sustain.
I would like to think that this post ain't restricted to only activities indoors because your friend clearly loves to socialize and that's a great way to blow off steam after making huge investment decisions and trading in a day.

Investors don't bother much once they have done the research and invested but they may keep track of market like they may check once in a while whenever there is a buzz in the market to see how their investment has performed and they are someone who don't have to panic much because everything is sorted they know when to withdraw and they spend rest of their time thinking about strategy and other investments as they have diversify their investments and not restricted to crypto alone, but day traders goes through the worst they are glued to their systems and the stress level is way too much in day trading so there is no waiting period for day traders.
I don't think, other activities can make  full time traders to forget the market price because they always focus on their research to know when the price is good to trade to make a good income but once they know that the price is very low to their satisfaction, they will not bother themselves to research until they see the price increase close to their target. Full time traders have the ability to hold their coins till the price of their wish come before they will embrace it to release their coins to the market to make income but the day traders don't use to think twice before they will release their coins to market, because they don't use to wait for high price to come before they will trade in the market. Full time traders don't use to panic when they see the price decreasing but they know that it will still go up when time come because they have good experience that the price will definitely go up again.
It may, I actually do this exact sort of thing. I put all my buy orders and sell orders in place which means that I do not have any reason to keep watching it, the only thing that would make me do something about it would be seeing the market change and adjusting my order rates, but I do not even have to do that and just could end up letting them be. Meanwhile, I go play some games or do my work and so forth, which means that I already have my plate full and doesn't mean that I am going to end up with any trouble.

I understand that we are going to see something changing, that is not going to be the case, but this should not be a big deal, and I know that if you can find something that can keep you busy, you will be better trader.

I am neither a big time trader nor am I an investor so I cannot provide the answer you require. However, the answer to your question can be seen if you search for and watch "A day in the life of a crypto trader or investor" on you YouTube. From the countless videos that I have watched the most common things they do for fun while waiting include-  reading, physical exercise, travel, sports, spending time with family, or building other interests that is separate from crypto market. While for some others, they may listen to music, watch movies, listen to podcasts, or even play video games.

As an investor not really big time but let's just generalize ourselves traders and investors. What I do is I play games, sleep and of course having me time and family time. But those times are also hard to manage because of having a busy work load day and it's all about time management while checking my portfolio and seeing on how they're performing because it's not going to be good days at all times although it's more of the bad days and I like doing my stuff when I don't check my portfolio.

I am not a full-time trader, well as a matter of fact I don't even consider myself a trader because I consider myself an investor. Well, I still want to add some words because I have seen the life of full-time traders, they all spend different lives, I have seen them on YT, on social media, and some in reality as well. And one thing I can say for sure is, the lifestyle of each trader is totally different.

And hobbies as well. Because there was a trader (a full time) when he was with me on a campaign (it was a university campaign) I did not realize he is into trading and by chance after around 2 years I came to know he was in trading and now he is selling a course as well. The point is, some traders are living a normal life among others, and become traders and talk like that when they are in there people haha.

For the fun part, hobbies are almost same as ours. BTW some trader's hobbies are to read charts.

That depends on the type of traders in the picture because we have different types of trader and they all have different ways that they trade or watch the market. There is day trader, swap trader and swing trader. The way they will check on the market will be different, a swap trader who is a fast type of trader on the short time won't have time for all the rest or luxury during trade. A daily trader may probably have some time depending on the time frame he is looking at and a swinger definitely has alot of time to catch fun. Basically, a daily trader and swing trader have more of time to have the fun they want in between their trading time or journey. So they may go out with friends, family or get busy with other jobs because as a trader you can also have other businesses and jobs.

As an Investor we always need to make profits on our Investments otherwise why we will do so much hard work just to play around and have fun.We can head to beaches and entertainment areas for that purpose. Actually the strategy could be different for investors and this involves a deep sense of understanding to predict what exactly the big investors are planning of.

Sometimes they'll just put some money into a coin and make it pump a little just to draw attention towards it and then they just shift their centre of focus to the other one. In this way they make high profits by utilising a coin and the other small investors by gaining a little hit profits on that coin feels happy about that. So it's all the game of profits no matter how they manipulate the market but their major focus will always be making profits.

I don't think there is much difference between a common man and a trader.  The difference is that a normal person has a little less stress and a trader has a little more stress.  Trade and any money usually invests in trading and market analysis works.  Moreover, they think about when to invest in trading and when not to, and the rest of the time they live like a normal person.  However, long-term trading traders have less stress, but day trading spends 24 hours under stress.

You can have work and be a trader. You can open a position in the morning and later check after work in the evening. If a trader is not working, he can prefer to check the market price of the coin he used to open a position, checking the price often but that is not good as it demand energy than traders will think until they notice that it is exhausting them. A trader can be the CEO or manager of a company. A trader can be anyone  and he or she may have work. Depending only on trading is even not advisable.
I wont advice someone who is a trader to be working on site unless he is a freelancer. Only that way he can be able to manage both work together. It is good you are doing something online relating to trading so that you can be checking your trades regularly to avoid missing the time to exit trade or enter a trade. Although there is this setup or configuration that when the trade reaches your target something about stop loss and take profit it will automatically execute the command. However it still wont foster concentration. I just feel like a trader shouldn't be distracted.

They do what any other person does, an investor does not need to watch the markets all the time like a trader does, so they have more leeway on what they can do, with many of them actually working so they can produce more money, they can later use to invest on the market.

Traders have slightly more limitations, since they need to be in front of their screen to take advantage of the movement in the price of the assets they trade, but as long as they can set a few limit orders, they can reduce those restrictions a little bit and enjoy themselves until the market moves in the way they want.

I don't know about how whales and other big investors spend their free time or the kind of fun that they engage in when they're not doing crypto stuff, but I can speak for the average income earner investors and traders, they're probably engaging in other sources of income generation. Crypto investment and trading doesn't really stop him or her from engaging in other jobs, as a matter of fact it's recommend that a crypto trader have other sources of income, because of the risks of loses in trading, also an investor, only needs to monitor the market once in a while. What either investors or traders do for fun depends on individual preferences.

Most of them will spend time to watch price charts and don't do anything more meaningful for their life while waiting their orders to be filled.

It's not good way to participate in and live in the market because it will be harmful for your health, sit more, worse health and in capital side, it will cause you loss by making more bad decisions and positions.

Minimize time on charts will be better, do something beyond the market like running, walking, swimming, kind of physical activities will help you to improve your health physically and also your mental health.

well, if we talk about big investors, or big traders, then during their vacation time, they might go on vacation like rich people, or maybe they spend their time with their family.
I think, if we're talking about big investors, or big traders, they probably spend a lot of time on what they do. Because when they invest or trade, they have to do it seriously because the money they put in is definitely not small. So, when they have holiday time to have fun, maybe they spend it with their family, whether it's a holiday abroad, or other fun things like a holiday to the beach or to a villa.

Trading is not a full-time job, and I believe that the majority of people who trade full-time also participate in extracurricular activities. They cannot always be trading 24 hours a day. Once they've mastered the concept of trading, they can place their trade, add the necessary configurations, and go about their daily activities.

Whale investors do nothing after investing. They simply keep an eye on the market to see how much money they have accumulated and what profits they may have made. They are even more engaged than traders and do not have time to read charts to determine the market's direction. They are primarily psychologically motivated and are not swayed by market movements.
Even a full time job might require some occasional distraction inorder to perform efficiently and it may be gaming or gambling or seeing a movie or socializing, hence why I asked.
So far though, it just points to the fact that both a small or big time trader are just humans and would do human stuff while trading in order to remain sharp and stay psychologically motivated despite the market volatility and trend movement at the moment.

I still have to ask though, does the trader who gets distracted with chores and some hobbies while waiting for the results of a trade or yet to make a trade,  perhaps much more successful than the person who just does trading for some hours non stop, no distractions in the form of hobbies or movies or gaming?
