I am from the Philippines and my family have no interest on bitcoin... Said it's just waste of time.. lol
In the community I was asking them if they have any idea about BTC and none of them did....
I started educating some of my friends few tried but most of them ignored....
As of now those friends who believed is now spreading, educating their family, friends and community about BTC...
And as for me, Iv'e been using Bitcoin for quiet some time and helped me in my financial needs.....
Thrue the years I see how people are changing their opinion about the Bitcoin and for better. At first many of them have never even heard about it. Then they tought that it doesn't exists, some thought that it's bad and illegal. But slowly perception about Bitcoin is changing and more and more people in my environment are accepting Bitcoin.
in my area a little number of people where know about bitcoin, but now most of the people have realized about bitcoin and now they are investing in bitcoin for making money, the number of bitcoin users are really increasing, one shopkeeper is also accepting bitcoin for shopping. If someone really know what is bitcoin and how bitcoin works. Many benefits that we can get from using bitcoin so it is was can be a reason many people have interesting feel with bitcoin.
And are you serious that also many shop on your place is already accepting bitcoin.? Honestly shop and store around me still not accepting bitcoins as payment methode.

They don't know what BTC is. When I explained it to them, they became confused and didn't understand the point of it. The best argument I could have them understand something about BTC was when I explained how researchers can use blockchain technology for their researches.
So, what do people around you (relatives, co-workers, co-ed, friends...) think about Bitcoin ? Please, indicate your country, so this way I'll be able to make a synthesis about what people think about Bitcoin.
For me : I come from France. My relatives think that it's criminals' tool and that since they can't touch money they don't trust it (note that those same persons are pro-banks, where you can't touch money). My friends think that it is useless and that it has no future. Both of them agree that scare them the most is the Bictoin's price volatibility.

My situation is not very different from yours as my family also think I am only wasting my time on bitcoin and instead I should find something better.My friends although know about bitcoin but they are comfortable with their present payment methods and do not want to switch to bitcoin unless it is supported by Government For me : I come from France. But there is some of them who show big interest when I am talking about making money on the internet with commenting, but when I tell that you need to comment in English - all desire disappears.
International language is useful to make compulsory in education so that the citizens do not remain backward in the competition with the remaining world and that is well understood in our country everyone learn international language (English) and when I tell them about bitcoin then try to learn about that and can easily learn from internet and start adopting it. 
Most of the people around me are not yet aware of bitcoin because all they know is social media like facebook, posting, sharing, liking all day. I told them to just explore because we can really make money online but still they don't care maybe I don't have the power of encouragement. By the way, I'm from Philippines.
I am also from the same country as you, I noticed too that people are busy with social media and sharing hoax news. What I notice is that some of us love those "too good to be true", and MLM's and things like that, but if you told them that they could earn with bitcoin, they are in doubt and if they believe you, it would only take days and leave and back to browsing facebook instead of earning. But anyway, my family already know what is bitcoin since I already told them what it is, they are not asking me anything anymore, so it might mean that they are not interested.
It's because most people want to do little work and earn a lot. Networking AKA MLM is still going on in the Philippines. After being warned so many times, people still believe that they're going to earn from MLM. Well, yes you would earn from that if you're a manipulative person and were able to recruit a lot of people. Otherwise, you just gave them donations.
I have friends that begged their parents for money just to join MLM and earned nothing but never want to take a little amount of money out of their pocket to buy bitcoins even when they see that I'm earning money out of this.
Indeed. That pyramiding style that pushes them not to believe in bitcoin. I have classmates before and also a computer graduate did not believe what I told them about bitcoin. They think that Im recruiting them for a pyramiding scheme that if I can recruit them my income will also increase. Whatever explanation to them did not work. They think its a joke currency because its an online currency. All they believe is fiat.
It is quite difficult. Most of my friends and relatives have never heard about Bitcoins. But that is not the bad part. Whenever I try to educate them about the benefits of Bitcoin usage, they accuse me of trying to scam them.

And in my area when I start using bitcoin, I think there was not any other person in my surrounding who knew about bitcon, and when my firends and family heard about bitcoin from me they were not readily accepted the fact about the usefullness of bitcoin but later they too understood and agreed. Now a number of poeple here in my area are using and earnig bitcon through differnet ways and services now a days.

Most people around me don't have much of an idea on what Bitcoin is. I continuously try to convince them into buying Bitcoin, the price is going up everyday, why would you not want to earn free money? I feel that a lot of people are sceptical with online currency and would rather safer investments like investment properties or precious metals like gold.

Well then you clearly didn't explain it very well. it is fine for people to not like Bitcoin, but why would they think it is illegal? 
From my experience when iwas staring i only knew few of them and they told me about it, next i start Google it i found out that there are way to earn it from some task micro job faucets. Now when i look back i see that lot chqnge and we have more users. Hope we will increase number in following years.

Well many are saying that this coin is Illegal. Well we can say that since the government is not legalizing it yet. But, as you can see, the opprtunities here are very much high compared to fiat. And, if this coin is illegal, why is that some of the big company are accepting it as a payment? And the government is not doing anything to control the users?
Well, Soon and very soon. Bitcoin will be legalized and will be considered as a legitimate currency.
I think in some states and country,bitcoin is not illegal. You can freely trade, and transact bitcoin as long as the person on the other end willing to accept bitcoin.
People around me knows already bitcoin. I even tech them in trading and they are already aware the opportunity with bitcoin. Though some are still skeptical, but they got amazed when I load or topup their mobile with bitcoin.

When i mentioned it to my friends they really want to learn too . Just by telling it can be a sideline or a job too.
