So the question is(What do you think about gambling? Is it a fun ? Or a threat.

For me gambling is clearly fun, it's another form of gaming with money involved. I always liked playing cards as a kid, so poker and blackjack come very naturally to me. Having the chance to make some profits when being lucky is a nice plus. But I also understand that gambling can be a threat for others. In life many things can be fun and will become a threat if we over do them. Like with alcohol, drinking beers on the weekend is fun, but if we start drinking beers every day than it becomes a threat for our health. Same goes for gambling, as long as we do it reasonably and controlled it's fun.

Great way to spend weekend, casino or gambling is the most enjoyable place for me and to relieve fatigue During five days of work from morning till night.
I think if done responsibly it is good and fun but like I said have to play for fun and play not chasing losses or overdoing then you will get in trouble. Grin

I have tried to make it as fun as I can by keeping my bets minimal and affordable. Either ways either for fun or as a threat I believe it's a choice of the bookie and how the bookie decides to see gambling. If it's been taken as a business then no matter what threats would begin to manifest but if it's for the fun of it then it becomes a pleasurable adventure

I want to know the opinion of everyone here on this forum.I know we have different insight about gambling, and I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

So the question is(What do you think about gambling? Is it a fun ? Or a threat.

In my own opinion, gambling is fun. It is sort of like watching tv or playing online games but the possibility of winning money. It could be a threat if you dont know how to set your limits of how much money and time you can spend. Even if you have a large budget, it is a not a bad idea to set limits for yourself.

Always keep in mind,

NEVER INVEST MONEY THAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE.
Like most of answers here I also stand that Gambling was originally created for fun and happiness , it just being misused and become a addicting and brings negative impact to  most of users , but the concept of gambling supposedly for thrilling experience and of course for killing time.

I am now a renewed in gambling activity and knows my boundary and limitation , i will only play when i feel like wanted to kill time and also when i have spare amount to spend for this ,

In my own point of view, it's for fun and will always will be. It would just be a threat for an individual if he/she can't see that it's taken his peace and time and was solely focus in it even without return like winnings or something. Moreover, when we tend to gamble we really saw it at first for fun but as we get addicted do we see it as a threat or to those who are around us (e.g. family members)?

It's just something to add more thrill to the game. That's the reason why I gamble. One example is watching a football game especially if you are a hardcore fan of one team gives you joy. But, when you add some money on the line, the joy of watching electrifies. You don't just cheer for the them because you are a fan but because you became a part of them by putting something on the line.
Just stop if you don't have the money anymore. It's not supposed to be a mandatory thing but just adds flavor to be more thrilling.

It's fun, but it will be a threat if there's pressure to win and you know the fact that you can't beat the house and you can win out of luck if you will envy those who show their huge winnings in gambling and tell them that you can also do that, now you are putting big pressure on how you play, gambling should be fun it's on every casino's TOS, so be responsible, gambling is not an investment, not a business, it's something you go to to take out the pressure of whatever job you are in.

To be honest, it is both. It can't be fun alone and can't be a threat alone. Gambling could be fun, if you say you're only after entertainment, but it is a threat maybe for your health, money, family, and the other way around. Gambling mostly cause addiction to its players, only few of them are really making profits, that's the truth, because for me, there's a lot of people who wanted to be a professional gambler or a profitable gambler overnight, that's why instead of taking it slowly, they bet it all in thinking they could chase their losses.

Many people play gambling initially just for fun, but without realizing it gambling will also be a threat if we can't control a good way of thinking when facing defeat, such as continuing to place bets even though we only have a little money left and in the end we have to lose everything.

Yes, I agree with you mate, initially the reason why some or many people start in gambling is because they are looking for fun or entertainment but like what OP has said on his statement gambling become a threat when a gambler don't know how to set limitation in himself. At the end of the day self-control is the only way to make gambling not a threat to you. I do also believe that a prize or a money that will be earn is also one of the driving factor why many have been caught up in gambling so it's a constant reminder that we should have a self limitation not just in gambling but in everything we do.

The difference between gambling and other games is that gambling is an expensive game which money is involved.
No, I disagree. It doesn't have to expensive for one to gamble, as long as the casino you're gambling at doesn't require that much in minimum deposit, you can gamble at that threshold and that's affordable one. That's why I disagree and it doesn't really have to be that expensive just as what you're saying. If $5 is too expensive for you then that's cheap for the majority and with such amount, you can already enjoy and have fun.
Yep and don't forget nowadays many casinos has demo account or faucet, so you can play without any money just like you play games! The difference between free money and real money is adrenaline, you wouldn't feel the adrenaline when you play with free money. IMO gambling without real money isn't really a gambling, at least you need to bet with small money. When someone worried too much about losing their money, they shouldn't gamble.

If money is not involved in gambling then probably gambling industry might be doing similar to how video games are doing these days. So, money is the biggest differences between other fun providing entertainments and gambling. So, if you honestly do not seek money then you can easily enjoy with lots of other things like watching movie or playing with friends or going for adventurous trips.

Personally I do gamble as per mindset. I gamble for all day if I wish or I may stay away from it for months. I guess I already got addicted to the  thrills of gambling but fortunately I am able to control myself for not touching it for months. I am just waiting for vacation time to enjoy gambling but I guess I need to wait 3 more months for that.

Gambling have so many definitions to people.   Some see it as fun that entertain,  some other people can see it as a means of making money and it can also be seen as a means of making money.  The definition of gambling depend on the mindset.

We have very different opinions are far as the definition of gambling. There could be playing for some and just gamble money that they can afford to lose. And there is those addicts who will gamble all the money they have, win or lose.

And then there are casual gamblers, who just want to have some fun, passing some time or betting on their favorite team. But at the end, it's a risk, and all of us are willing to take it.

Everything is gambling! Every decision we make, every move we make its gambling! We gamble all the time, and most people don't even realize that! We all want more, we want things, and we invest what we have (including our body) and what we know to get more, and for sure we all have secure and risky ways how to get to that more!

So when you ask is it fun or a threat I can ask the same about life?! Is life fun or a threat? Of course, it's both, we (normal/ordinary/majority) all have periods of one or another, and we have people who have gone further, whose life is all about fun or neverending threat... Finding some balance in life can be hard, and it comes with years I guess!

Gambling definition - take risky action in the hope of a desired result!

When you go out on the first date and you try to kiss a girl is a risky action in the hope of a desired result! So it's logical to think that good preparation can make your chances for success a lot higher, without it, you can get slapped!

It's always about the approach and how you learn to do something... gambling games are no different, many of us gamble for decades without any problems! We simply know how this game works, we know our limits and goals and we simply enjoy that kind of entertainment! As I said, it's about finding a balance in your life first, when you do that it will be easier to do the same with all other aspects of life!

Admit it or not, majority of us here gamble to win money, simply as that.

That's why there are a lot of us who turns into gambling addict because we wanted to win more and chase money and that's where the addiction kicks in.

So it's going to be very difficult, unless you have self control when you started your gambling journey, but then again, I doubt that is the case.

If we talk about gambling in general without including poker, I see it more negative than positive, because it can serve as entertainment but there is a clear risk. If you are the owner of a casino it is positive, if you are a gambler more potentially negative.

If we include poker, sports betting and any other game where you can win money in the long run, I see it as positive in general, because apart from entertainment, you can also win money and you will have to develop certain skills such as patience, calculation of probabilities, bankroll management, etc.

This is a very subjective topic for me because not all of the gamblers sees differently when it comes to gambling.
If you will ask a gambler who won many times in lets say Poker, he will say that gambling is fun because he gained profits from it. On the other hand though, if you will ask a gambler who lost so much that it changes his way of living, he sees it as a threat or more of a dilemma at least because of what happened to him.

As for me, I see gambling a threat more than fun or entertainment. Its obvious that there are many losers than winners in gambling. The owner of the casino doesn't lose money and most of the time they are winning because there are more losers than winners. I see gambling as a threat because of its negative effects that sometimes changes lives of some gamblers. Yes there are some gamblers who changed their lives positively with the help of gambling but there are more who changed negatively.

NEVER INVEST MONEY THAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE.
Same with investing.
This is also the reason why I'm still ok whenever I gamble. Whenever I gamble, I consider that amount as a lost funds already because most of the time I'm losing so... yeah that is how I'm thinking whenever I'm gambling that is why when I lose my money I'm ok and will never feel anything.

Gambling for fun, it is just like every other game we play, it's either we loose or win. Time spent on it give more experienced on how win. The difference between gambling and other games is that gambling is an expensive game which money is involved.

It is just a form of entertainment. Think of it like a pay to play game. An expensive form of entertainment. The profits are just bonus. As long as you are enjoying (even the losses) and you are in control, not greed, then everything is fine. But if greed takes over and the person becomes addicted, then it is no longer okay for that person to gamble. It's wrong to gamble with the hope of getting rich overnight or thinking that it will help you pay your bills. It's also wrong to gamble when you can't afford to lose money. So long it doesn't affect you or people around you, you can keep gambling.
