Despite SC is a promising project, there's way too many coins in circulation. So if you're looking for a way to make loads of money, look elsewhere

I agree with you on this because I like SiaCoin, too. With 31,396,146,174 Siacoin in circulation, it doesn't even follow the trend of the Law of Supply and Demand. there's too much available coins, therefore, there's  still too little value on this coin despite it being a good project. I am sure it will increase in value soon, but it may take some time.

Emmm im never heard about this coin, have future of not have depends on your perspective of investment, if you really sure about the investment then it will have a future. Better see the movement of the coin is it growth up or stay without any progress. If there is no growth better you find other coin to invest like top 10 altcoin it more secure and have a future.

Sia is considered a Bitcoin derivative that includes specialized contract support. Sia’s settlement currency is aptly named Siacoin, and in the future a two-way peg will be implemented in order to financially connect the Bitcoin and Siacoin blockchains.

The price of the SC is very low, and this token is for storing business. I think it may be very close to the block chain, so there should be room for improvement.

I may have long held Siacoin. the reason is some speculation and TA has a lot of good things to say about Siacoin. I hope the use of Siacoin will actually be more stable so that it can add the price. Whether the coin has actual usage in the outside world will not determine success and balance.

That's quite interesting. I think that there's a lot of competition and SIA certainly doesn't offer much more in terms of storage than an in-home drive would. Even in terms of decentralized cloud storage there are other alternatives, Sia is certainly overpriced and its rally seems to be coming to an end as bitcoin price also remains bearish lately.

I don't really think that Sia has a bright future.

- There are already some competitors in the market (Storj, Filecoin).
- I'm not deep into the details but from what I've read is that you have to keep your computer running like >80-90% of the time to be able to get your rewards.
- Plus: There have been previous attempts to the whole concept of decentralized cloud storage (without blockchain). Bittorrent Sync (now Resilio) for example and this concept wasn't very successful.

So in the end I think that Sia won't hit the mainstream.

I have mined a bunch of SIA lately and honestly I feel like I made a mistake.
The developers don't use it for themselves and even the ASICS miners they asked for payment in BTC.
I'm holding for now but once it hits $0.01 or 0.000002 BTC I'm out.
that's the problem mate the dev itself seems not caring about the this as we continue seeing the value dropping and not support level maybe much
better to stay away for a while and wait for the dev to show back and give some updates regarding to this coin future, better to make your assessment
carefully not being trapped.

It's interesting but apparently not much demand given the price. It seems people just dual mine it for the heck of it.

I see all these new coins and it seems like the trend right now is this: a coin for the ENERGY industry, a coin for the POT industry, a coin for HEALTHCARE, or for this or that.

The market cap of currency is huge based on the amount of fiat in circulation. I still think there is more work to do with regular coins. I would love to see some legitimate programmers make a new coin with a memory intensive alg to force decentralization and a liquid block rewards and block times based on the network that focused on a working smart contract and loan platform built on top of it that fulfill the requirements of international laws. Additionally, it may be advantageous to be a hybrid POS/POW. It may be advantageous to support anonymous transactions. This is not for criminals but for private enterprises as well. Maybe eth is the closest to this? You can't beat bitcoin though as a store of value and SPENDING. There is merit in that as well. Bitcoin is almost functioning as the crypto world reserve currency because of the fact you can spend it so many places.

Guess my point is this: enough with the gimmick coins. How bout a coin that works for everything...

Am still in SIacoin, and if I had more funds, I would turn to Sia atm.. is going to double soon, and because it has not had is fortunate run, at some point it will. The only problem is that the team, does not have tokens of Sia, so they do not have the desire to make it work as much as the rest of the industry.

Lets just see what they will develop.

By virtue of being decentralised storage I'd say Siacoin is a solid hold.

Siacoin, Storj, Maidsafe, Filecoin, IPFS - All do or will offer decentralised storage in the future so all are projects on my radar.
The utility these platforms can provide to users and Dapps is going to be very important.

Its one of my top coins to look into.  Reason why because cloud storage alone.  lol  It's cheap compare to Amazon and Microsoft.  Hopefully they do good and fix any issues.  I'm going cancel my Amazon storage if Sia gets better.

Any coin that has real world use may last long than the others.

The good:

- It is not vaporware
- It has a fair released via mining
- It has slowly grown in value over a long period of time

The bad:

- There is little demand for pay-for-storage cryptocurrency services. The cryptocurrency pay-for-storage services are hardly used, and have little to no advertising budget to compete with established pay-for-storage incumbents.
- There are a lot of competing projects within the cryptocurrency space focused on the same or similar service.
