For me personally, I try to limit my gambling to teams where I know at least some players, because otherwise it's easy to get carried away. Really in my opinion, gambling on leagues and sports that you know little to nothing about, only increases the edge against you.

In such cases I always consult tipping and news sites which also offer a big analysis before claiming that this bet is going to be a winner,they even rate,some of them rate by 1 star low confidence,2 stars average confidence and 3 stars highest confidence.Since I don't know most of these leagues players I rely on this other people information before making a decision to bet or not to bet on a specific event.

Usually though I have my preferred leagues where I bet and not just only one league.

I prefer to reduce my gambling or usually sometimes I divert to some casino games or spend my gambling time on other hobbies, sometimes if I participate in betting on sports that I don't know about, it's the same as making my money drain quickly, so it's better chose to reduce my gambling activities when the league was on break and I couldn't bet on sports I didn't normally play.

Don't force yourself to gamble without knowledge that we don't have, let alone betting on leagues that we don't know at all about the strength of the club. To be honest, I know more about football matches than other sports, because I have studied a lot there, especially the big leagues in Europe, so I don't force yourself to try to bet on basketball, let alone cricket.

We should indeed bet on matches where we know the players and the strength of the competing teams. because we can analyze strengths and chances of winning. although sometimes there are other factors that make betting results not match the analysis.
I have several favorite sports for betting such as football and boxing. but if everything is on pause, it's usually during a break caused by an international match. we can bet on that agenda. or usually I allocate my capital to slot games.

When the league I bet is on break I also take a break, my choice of bet is football betting and once European league ends which is usually around May/June till Mid August every season that period is off for me in any form of betting and gambling activities though other leagues in other continents still continues unfortunately I am not familiar with their leagues and their clubs thus I can't rely on analysis obtained online and risk my money, though it's good to research on other type of sport bettings such as basketball, tennis, horse racing etc, however the passion I have for football wouldn't bother or allow me to delve into other type of bettings.

Like yours when Basketball is not available(or my team already dropped) i turn into American Football,
same as if the AFC/UFC ended I can put my bets in soccer.but those are the days because now that I limits my gambling activities
I uses only one team at a time and if they did not got to championship then I will stop betting till the season starts again.

Well, Sport is a seasonal thing.....

My favorite Sports to gamble on are Rugby and Cricket and Volleyball, so the one might be a Winter Sport and the other one might be a Summer Sport, but seasons differ from country to country, so the championships follow the seasons and you might have one championship being hosted locally when it is say Winter and then when that is done, the same Sport is played in a different championship in another country where it is Winter again. Grin

I will also start betting on other Sports like Boxing or UFC or Tennis in the off season, even though that might not be my favorite Sport to bet on. Wink

When my favorite sports, which is NBA is offseason or in a break, I usually go bet locally on our league, basketball and some football. But I don't bet as much though, and I will just play with other games in casinos while waiting for the NBA to resume.

Others games that I also bet is tennis, as well, and some MMA/UFC fights and then boxing.

So for me there are a lot of options even if like NBA is not available for me. And if I wanted to really play anytime then obviously slots machine games are readily available to us and then some other games as well.

When I was very active in gambling and my favorite league is on break, I try to bet on other sports or leagues that are still playing. I remember vividly during COVID-19 when leagues were stop. Before the leagues commenced, I use to bet on table tennis and to my surprise, the result was not too bad. Although, I used to bet based on the odds and it mostly work out unless on a very few occasions that it backfired. The lesser the odds, the higher the chances. At times, I do bet with system generated games like aviator and virtual games but presently, I would take a break from betting until my favorite league starts up again.

I’m from SEA. Basketball and Esports are the most popular here in terms betting since this is what commonly being played nationwide by almost everyone here. I usually bet on NBA and Dota2/CS:GO but not to the point that I bet on every single game.

But there’s a lot of gambler here that is betting multiple times in daily basis as hobby. My fellow countrymen is very industrious on work but always spend a lot on gambling that’s why sports betting is very popular here the first time it was introduced online.

Gambling to me is a mixture of fun and profit. One can only be entertained by games that give him pleasure. Sports bets is my best gambling games and I have two sports I am familiar with. The leagues of these two sports don't end at the same time so I always have the opportunity of gambling almost all year round. But my favorite is football bets because I have a good understanding of the game and can predict some of the game's to a large extent. When football leagues go on break I will have to focus on my second choice but I must confess that football gives me more fun and satisfaction. When these two spots are not in season due to unforeseen circumstances like the pandemic, taking a break will not be a bad idea.

I'm a huge NBA fan and they have like 5 months break after the NBA finals concluded usually around June, then next season would begin in October with the pre-season games and the season officially begins late in October. So, with that 5 months and I don't usually gamble into any other sports, because I don't like betting into something which I don't have a good knowledge to it. What I tend to do before was just bet on some casino games, but not as often as I place bets on NBA games.
I do watch other sports like Football, boxing and MMA, but I don't bet into these sports as much as I do in the NBA. If I remember correctly, I made a bet from these sports before only a handful of time. Nevertheless these are good sports, it's just that we all have our own preference in which sports we enjoyed and comfortable the most watching and placing bets of course.

Only times our league go on break is like international match break if I don't count summer. I actually like to bet on international football. In summer, there are some other leagues, south America etc. Especially Brazil has good coverage so fun to bet on.

My bets are mostly on NBA basketball because of its huge market. During the league break, which lasts for months, I still throw in some bets on local basketball games. It's not as intense as my NBA bets, but it helps pass the time and keeps the boredom at bay while waiting for the main league to kick back in.

Sometimes even the local basketball league takes a break, and during those times, I just have to chill and take a break from betting. I'm not gonna throw money at sports I don't follow – it's hard-earned cash, and I'm not about to waste it on a wild guess.

If the league that I usually follow is on break for a while I might also take a break and not place any bets because I am only interested in betting on sports, especially football. Even though there are other alternative and there are many other casino games but for now I am not really that into it interested, but maybe if I'm bored I can do it occasionally with the aim of entertaining myself, such as playing slots or roulette and not doing these activities often because online casino game are prone to becoming addictive if we can not controls ourselves, but this can also be prevented depending on our attitude who did it.

There is no doubt that the majority of Asians and North Americans are not football fans. They watch sports such as ice hockey, cricket, basketball, and baseball. When that happens I just take a break from sports betting, and I do this because as you mention there are a few sports that I really like and I feel as I can decrease the edge the casinos have against me to some degree, but when it comes a to a league I do not know then this is something I cannot really do.

However this does not necessarily means that I would stop to gamble, as I could choose one of the many different games available at a casino and have fun with them.

There are many categories and alternatives to bet on that go much beyond an exclusive league you are fan. You don't necessarily have to stick with just one sport or even sports betting. You can try classical casinos games and pvp gambling games as well. For a gambler in 2023 there are no excuses to say he is bothered because there is nothing interesting to bet on, due the advancement of internet, cryptocurrencies and technology around the world. Sports have a season and there really is no good reason not to like more than 1 sport. Even if you are barely knowledgeable about a certain sport, you put $5 on a game and you instantly become more interested.

I am big on NFL football, NCAA football, NCAA basketball, and NBA basketball. Those 4 sports run basically from Late July til April of the following year. Roughly a 3 month gap where I have to watch a little golf, tennis, or whatever other sport I can find.
