Each person has a unique perspective on technologies and taking advantage of opportunities. By providing a relatable and humane approach, we can encourage others to think about the uses and benefits of Bitcoin in everyday life. If we simply look at the Internet and Bitcoin as supporting tools, then yes, I very much agree with the view that one day it will be popular in life. However, the story here is not simple, because of the complexity in the world from small to big problems, everyone is still in it. I am a Bitcoin supporter and also very interested and grateful to Those who can spread knowledge about it to more people to guide them to have a more positive outlook in life.

I tell them that this simple comparison between Internet adoption and Bitcoin adoption because it speaks volume to the importance of  deciding to embrace new technologies. I tell them that just as the Internet has been a viable tool in impacting our lives all round, so bitcoin will  and they must be proactive in making choices that can help them make the most of the opportunities bitcoin offers.

The internet has way bigger utility than Bitcoin.
If Bitcoin had the same utility which internet had, almost several billion people would have been using BTC by now.
Let's be honest here. Bitcoin isn't adopted by billions of people because they are perfectly fine WITHOUT Bitcoin. Their lives won't change that much in a positive way, if they start using BTC. I keep repeating the same question. If Bitcoin was so awesome, then why every business in the world hasn't adopted it yet? If Bitcoin is the solution to all financial problems, why every person in the world hasn't adopted it yet?
Maybe the answer is "Because Bitcoin isn't perfect and it doesn't have to be perfect, in the first place."

The Internet is a tool and people choose to use it or not. How much harder will life be if they don't use Internet. I tell them that at some point life may be much harder if they haven't adopted bitcoin.

Are you really comparing the internet with Bitcoin?
I've always said what lacks here is moderation when thinking of your assets, just like gold bugs think of gold coins coming back in usage or gold spiking to 100x times its value some bitcoiners who have spent too much time only in this bubble can't see anything beyond this.

Just think, we have 40 million addresses and around 400 000 transactions, a world where 4 billion use the internet daily, make 1.6 billion online purchases, and almost one third of them have a job that needs the internet. If you want to make a comparison, just think about what will happen tomorrow
a) there will be no internet
b) there will be no bitcoin
Can you realistically compare the two scenarios?

Bitcoin hasn't grown enough yet to deserve this, is still just still in an adoption phase and to be honest, other than the rise in value, adoption as in numbers is not as smooth sailing as it would have been supposed to be.

People who have worked in Bitcoin will never be able to move on without Bitcoin in front of them because

Common, don't be a drama queen! The world dropped gold and it went on, the world dropped cash and it did fine, do you think that everyone would just jump out of their window and commit suicide because there is no Bitcoin?
How the hell did they manage to stay alive before 2009? Just as they did befoe they will do from there on!

Your keys, your responsibility
Wrong analogy, bitcoin is not a necessity, it is a choice.
There are many practical alternatives to bitcoin even with conventional means, there are no practical alternatives to the internet in any way. Significantly, the internet has become a solution covering almost all aspects of interest. At least this will be the case going forward.

Today I want to share a simple comparison method I used when talking (not persuading) them about bitcoin adoption. I use the internet adoption example. I ask them if they remember the first time they got on the internet. How they got on it and what their reason(s) was or were. I further ask them what thought process got them to decide to use the Internet. I have found out that their answers are all the same. I then proceed to tell them that Bitcoin will be the same. The Internet is a tool and people choose to use it or not. How much harder will life be if they don't use Internet. I tell them that at some point life may be much harder if they haven't adopted bitcoin.

On the one hand, just as the Internet has made our lives faster, Bitcoin has changed our lives as well. Just as we are worthless without the internet, we who work in Bitcoin are worthless without Bitcoin. So there are a lot of people who still don't know about Bitcoin I think they haven't touched the modern civilization yet. People who have worked in Bitcoin will never be able to move on without Bitcoin in front of them because Bitcoin has changed their lives in a different way. So by using this bitcoin and with this bitcoin we will make our next life more colorful.

Well, personally, I don't usually care what strategy I come up with, because I have always believe that I don't need to convince any body to invest in bitcoin, or try to come up with some crazy ideas or analogies, I simply tell the person all the truth and facts I know about bitcoin, and also tell them the truth of how I got into it, the mistakes I made and how it lead to one or the other, and how I never gave up but continued to push on, and how today, I am very happy with my life and all I've achieved,  even though I am not even close to where I wanna be in life.

I like being blunt to any body i meet and have the opportunity of discussing bitcoin with, so that in the end, the person don't come back telling me I was the one who convinced him or her to invest in bitcoin, that I never told them there are some levels of risk involved.

I have found out that their answers are all the same.

Well, what is their answer, especially the cause?

I then proceed to tell them that Bitcoin will be the same. The Internet is a tool and people choose to use it or not. How much harder will life be if they don't use Internet. I tell them that at some point life may be much harder if they haven't adopted bitcoin.

I rather think an analogy between Bitcoin and the internet is too distinct. It does quite get the essence of both technologies. Internet is a generic protocol, whereas bitcoin is way more specialized. The degree people require and utilize the internet is limitless, but specifically for bitcoin, it has some constraints.

Without a doubt, in the current digital age, exempting internet usage would obviously hamper many conveniences, but for bitcoin, it is not so much. Besides, there are many alternatives to Bitcoin as a currency or payment system, but for the internet, there isn't any viable alternative that is on par with its current capabilities.

No matter how harder you try to convince or persuade for bitcoin adoption, if their mind is not at ease with bitcoin adoption, they will keep their personal intention at work and will remain adamant to yield on what you're trying to convince them about, you cannot compare someone who already have been scammed through digital networks to easily get convinced on bitcoin except they are legitimate for taking risk and I've developed a business kind of like orientation and thicker skinned, some will voluntarily join in adoption while some will be afraid and make a rejection no matter how you approach them, except they are personally convinced to do so.

I do not think Bitcoin will be as big as the Internet adoption wise nor impact wise. The internet allowed people to do something they did not have the option of doing before, Bitcoin allows people to do things they already kind of could, but more efficiently and more self sufficiently.
I personally think Bitcoin works best when you do not need to think about the fact that you are using it.

Actually the internet is kind of an advanced form of telephone/tv/radio/magazine combined. Before the internet we used newspaper ads to buy used cars. We used to meet new people that way too. (Imagine meeting a person without seeing her/his photo!) It is hard to imagine right now but I lived those times and it was as bad as it sounds. Yes internet has its unique uses too but it’s not completely unique. It is a very advanced form of telecommunications in the end. TV used to be huge before the internet and nowadays nobody is watching it other than the boomers.

It is a matter of choice to use Bitcoin or not, because there are other options available, like Fiat and online bank transfer, it's sad but true that many people will always choose Fiat over Bitcoin even if Bitcoin becomes so big in the future, don't forget that what Bitcoin does better is decentralization, something many people don't care about, they want the government to be always their ruler and whatever their government isn't accepting they will choose to stay away.
This is the most logic.

I've tired to see people keep mentioning use Bitcoin as a currency, use Bitcoin as a currency, when they're still use Bitcoin as a commodity and not spend it to buy daily needs. You don't have to pay any fee using cash, bank transfer and digital fiat, their fees are cheaper than Bitcoin network. Yeah, keep saying lightning network is cheaper, when LN is cheaper if you use it regularly since it need fee to open a channel.

Bitcoin will never be widely accepted like the internet, do you know that people use the internet for other things like, attending meeting and school lectures? Also people use the internet to do their home works, they can't do all these with Bitcoin, also there are no other things like the internet but with Bitcoin, we have other things.

When the internet was discovered people were afraid of it they were scared of its uses when someone tells them that through the internet you can do anything like to talk to others or they can see you etc they get nervous and make distance from it but now people can't stay a single minute from the internet, in the same way, people now afraid of bitcoin but in the comīng year's people will adopt it widely and the wise peoples started it they know how much will bitcoin be important in the coming days.
A few days ago I was telling my friend about Bitcoin and after a few minutes he said I am not understanding what you were saying because he is new to Bitcoin did not hear about it before, He told me that simply defined its importance in my life, As he is a beginner I tell him if you want to send money from one country to another through banks, they charge you high fee like for $10000 they charge you $1k and it takes weeks from one to another country but if you send the same amount through bitcoin to that person it will charge you like $2 and when I tell this he says really and I said yes this is a small benefit of bitcoin

Not a bad analogy, however I do not think bitcoin adoption will get to the point that if you do not use it you will be left behind by everyone, as it is the case of the internet now.

Fiat currencies will keep on existing, and even if an economic crash was caused by them and they disappeared for a time, you can be sure that they will make a comeback, so anyone that is not interested in using bitcoin will always have the option of using those currencies and still buy whatever they want with them.

I do not think Bitcoin will be as big as the Internet adoption wise nor impact wise.

I don't think so either. I think I remember hearing Michael Saylor say the analogy as if to say that we are still at an early stage to buy bitcoin, that it would be like adopting the internet in 1998 or so.

The internet allowed people to do something they did not have the option of doing before, Bitcoin allows people to do things they already kind of could, but more efficiently and more self sufficiently.

Indeed. And unless you believe that bitcoin is going to demonetise practically everything, even investment real estate as he believes, you will see that the impact on society will be smaller.

Now, how is that not some means of persuasion. Maybe you didn’t practically ask them to invest now or maybe use force but, just words that portrays an impending danger in their ignorance and stubbornness should they choose not to invest or buy your idea.

I would have preferred a different means. One that would make them see reasons like you’ve done, telling them that, it could be a life changing innovation for the future but, I feel you shouldn’t present to them the idea of a impending doom should they fail to invest.
That way, they would have to decide if they really do want it or not. Most persons you tell about bitcoin, they often come back to it in few years. The story could be same for them, especially when your making the most with it.

This analogy will only be suitable for people who have low understanding, not people who have a high understanding of things and will not need an explanation so basic.

You are right, although I think the analogy presented by the OP is good by equating the acceptance of an innovation or technological development, namely the internet with Bitcoin but it still cannot be applied to everyone, especially someone with a high level of understanding or you could say someone who has more critical thinking, this analogy certainly will not be able to give confidence to that person.
When speaking or convincing someone, we cannot generalize the explanation we are going to give. We must first be able to see and understand the level of understanding and thinking of the person we are talking to.
Apart from that, no one can know for sure about the future of Bitcoin, whether it will become even more popular or whether it will fade and be replaced by innovation or new technological developments.

I think that bitcoin has passed the level of your analogy and marketing. This you said in OP should be relevant 10yrs ago when bitcoin was still in its very early adoption. When only a few people trusted bitcoin and when bitcoin was just a synonym for scam.
But today, bitcoin has proven itself beyond reasonable doubt such that you do not need to approach anyone to preach to them about bitcoin. Rather if anyone perceives that you are into bitcoin, they will be the ones to approach you to tell them more about bitcoin.

First of all,  it's hard to tell what will happen in the future but I believe the OP use the internet as an example because it almost share the same history with Bitcoin because it's was once rejected before the big fish step and that's what we are about to explain footing the biggest investment companies filing for BTC spot ETF.
In the BTC will be big more than the internet.

I personally think Bitcoin works best when you do not need to think about the fact that you are using it.
Nah.  This look more like not be proud of using BTC.
You need to think about the privilege you have above those that are still naive about it and this will literally make you have the feelings of talking about it's benefit to someone.

Analogy is not an argument. You can't take two things, find similarities between them while ignoring the differences and conclude that they will have the same history.

There are many differences between the Internet and Bitcoin. The Internet was rapidly developing, speed was going up, costs were going down, the technology was rapidly gaining new features. You can't say the same about Bitcoin, today's Bitcoin is barely different from the version released by Satoshi.

The Internet "won" the competition for being the best way to transmit information because it greatly outperformed radio, television and newspapers. Bitcoin currently can't outpeform banks in metrics like transaction capacity, fees and price volatility.

A good analogy because in the end, with today's rapid technological advances, it is clear that we must be able to survive even more in competing to be able to adapt to new technologies that exist today.
When we reject innovation, we will indirectly be left behind from the rapid advancement of technology.
Although indeed for some people still do not consider that bitcoin is an innovation but for those who are literate in technology, they will certainly realize that even if it is not an innovation but technological sophistication must be anticipated and that is also what brought me to bitcoin because I did not believe in bitcoin (at the beginning) but because I tried to follow the innovations that occurred, this is precisely the answer that bitcoin is indeed quite important and the progress is good enough for me to make as an investment.
