Its true no one is confirmed that how much time is left to BTC lose its dominance but it will end in near coming days and when it breaks and go to the moon than it will more non-breakable price to the moon and you can see the price will touch the new high price record.

Only those who thought that bitcoin was a cash machine are the only ones who lost interest on bitcoin, all the others who really believe on this technology are still in here, holding all their  bitcoins just like they have always did, there is no rush for selling, so it does not matter for me.

Even in your wildest dreams it won't go down or it's popularity will never end look around you all coins are currently down but look bitcoins is growing up and up. I don't think this will ever happen so I don't think why anyone should even worry about it. Bitcoins is the crypto king and it's not going anywhere it'll always stay on top and only the top.

Every week BTC seems to lose it's market dominance. Currently it sits at 34.4 percent but what happens when it becomes 5 percent or less? Thoughts?

I think that would be the time when bitcoin should strive even harder to reclaim its dominant place. But it is impossible for bitcoin to just die and stop operating.

Bitcoin is decreasing from a long time with different percentages and look very bad for all traders because the loss of different traders is happening with different percentages that are why thoughts of traders are not good because the trend is continuously going to the down.

I think it's only a matter of time before the king loses its throne, but fortunately the market seems to be assuming it in an adequate and smooth way because this has happened gradually, so that in little more than a year the bitcoin went from having more than 90% dominance to about 30%, that is, today it is only one third of what it was before and this has not weakened the market, but the time will come when many altcoins will be positioned above bitcoin and I do not know if it will continue to be the main reference to continue pricing the other cryptos.

Life is a taxable event
If all the shitcoins were removed from that list, Bitcoin would be above 50% in dominance.

For example, ripple is not a cryptocurrency.
Bcash is btrash

Remove these coins from the list and bitcoin has over 50% dominance.

And in the long term these coins should die. And many, many more.

If what was posted happens then members will move over to the next big coin where it is happening currently. We all are her to make money for our families nobody will like to be left behind. But I think it will still be far off before such will happen.

It would be great it bitcoin loses it's dominance, there are much better coins out there and they all drop in price whenever some whale decides to dump their bitcoins. This is why monopolies are not permitted in the corporate world, so we should not fear when the other top altcoins increase their market share.

Bitcoin has no function.  Ethereum has some cool smart contract functionality, Bitcoin Cash retains the old Bitcoin function of being a transactional medium.

Bitcoin only has two things and they are both bad.
Reputational momentum
Just because so many people have been talking about it, people enter cryptosphere here.  Bitcoin is horrible, yet people will still end up here because sorting out the true nature of any crypto platform is hard work.

Ponzi function
People want to get rich quick.  Probably 90% of Bitcoin holders think they are going to make a shit ton of money on the next guy.  They don't care that there is no longer any use for the network.  It has been fully reduced to a Ponzi medium.  You can do nothing with Bitcoin other than convince morons to HODL and then quickly sell out when it peaks.

Please don't ever forget: people are very dumb.  Don't be one.

It should be noted that bitcoin has not lost its dominance to one or two coins but rather to hundreds of coins.Bitcoin and altcoins are inter dependant and altcoins get valued in bitcoin and survival of more altcoins make governments to think impossible to destroy bitcoin as any other altcoin would easily replace that empty space.

first of all there aren't "hundreds" of altcoins, there are "thousands" to more more clear there are nearly 2000 altcoins that exist out there.
secondly bitcoin has not lost any kind of dominance. the problem is people created some number and called it market cap which never existed before then they started comparing coins with it. some coins had billions of coins as supply so their market cap grew bigger then they started saying it is showing "dominance" where it really isn't.

As we all know that, Bitcoin was pushed by big whales and institutional investors and that's why the price was reaching new levels day by day. Each and every coin out there has its own philosophy and every coin came up with the solution for the different issue. However, I don't think that Bitcoin will lose its dominance at least in the near future but if anything like it happens, then it would be beneficial for the crypto industry.

His place will be taken by a younger, more stable, who saw the mistakes of the former leader thereby improving his system. Perhaps, so it should happen, that the crypto-currency world prospered. Time will tell.

maybe now a lot of people move to altcoin, but it could be right now the big market players are wanting to play with bitcoin, just wait for big players to play with bitcoin again.
definitely later bitcoin will rise in price.

the most value btc has right now its because of it dominates the trading pairs. if exchanges remove these pairs then it will lose its dominance and will lose its value, and it will become godfather to cryptocurrency.

Thoughts are not good because Btc dominance is not losing and it makes more down day by day and the things to do is just calm and cool and stays away from the market because it is dishearting to the traders.

Of course new coin will replace it.But,is it that easy? No,in order for that to happen is when there is a coin that surpass bitcoin in all aspect, like the price, availability and transaction speed. So for bitcoin lose it dominance i think it's still far off in the future.
