Exactly. Steemit proved us that a social media platform can be blockchain-based. But the team did not develop much due to errors. We can say it's been in a fall for the last two years.
EOS will soon introduce its Voice project. $ 30 million was spent for the Voice.com domain alone. This shows how serious the EOS team is about voice. And we can expect great quality from the EOS team.

It's a decentralized blockchain and it's not only about the team. We have developers building on steem. We have a lot of projects now. Every project is setting it's own rules and doing their best to improve.

Eos guys have only voice, that's not working even yet. On steem we have video platforms, 3speak and dtube. Audio platform dsound. Actifit for sport and much more other applications like utopian.io for developers and fundition for crowdfunding and many other useful apps. We have also now steem-engine.com where you can create your own token built on steem and a lot of tribes are created , like sportstalksocial, creativecoin and others.

Steem is perfect for content creators and great for building communities.

I will going to define Steem Blockchain in simple terms based on my opinions and personal experiences.

Steem Blockchain is Decentralised, Censorship Resistant, Hub Of Decentralised Applications, Social Networking, Community Interactions, Community Monetisation and most importantly anyone can onboard themselves freely and can start from zero and can empower their journey with rewards for their investment of Time and Efforts.

The popularity of steam already decreased a lot. It looks like rather than steem and im still prefer to use another platform just like 0x platform.
Im not having a lot of negativities to the steem platform but it looks like that we must move to the new platform that offers better things than steem.
It's placed at 80th of CMC.

It is explained easily why Steemit popularity is decreasing a bit. Unfortunately, there is very little content that would not concern earnings on Steemit or discussions about cryptocurrency on the platform itself. In the Trending and Hot tabs alone, posts about the social network are predominantly published. In addition, bots started to "like" posts and comments. However, it will work for long as I see.

Steemit is one of the pioneer project for social network/blogging on the blockchain. It do have flaws and it and its competitor are learning from them. This might not be the ultimate solution but it has proved that the model works. We need more such blockchain based services which are both decentralized and has a way to curb spams.

I am an author there and it was one of the first places where I made my first substantial crypto for free and for this reason it will always have a special place in my heart. The past year + though steem had become a really depressing place, and I was very pessimistic about its future. Hopefully, things seem to change as steemit inc have finally started to get their shit together. Finally bid bots seem to be  a thing of the past, good content creators get rewarded and featured on the front page, smt testnet will launch in a couple weeks etc.. Steem-engine is also already here and we have some nice tokens like steemleo!

For the first time in a long time I am again optimistic about its future!

Now the upvote bots are hardly fighted and even whales who were upvoting themselves. The mess is cleaned now and you will see in the trending and the hot page only quality.

Steem is premined which makes it suspicious. It became popular in the 2016 - 2017 time for altcoins and then died out of popularity even though some members of this forum seem to prefer it over bitcoin, which is just because they want to follow the trend. In steem you need to gain a userbase to upvote your content and the OP here is actually self-promoting their own Steem account so that it becomes worth of more Steem Dollars.

You literally need to spend coins to buy the Steem Power to promote your account for upvotes - like begging for money with money. A shitshow at the most if you ask me. But for the one who have contact with the owners they could upvote their accounts to a larger degree than average general members and thus earn a lot. It may be good for some bloggers and vloggers, but not worth of the time for those who prefer to have a full time job.

Patience is the key dear, there are thousands of Tokens and Coins but not all of them survived, Steem is deeply engineered and watched. I do agree with one of your point about spending money for money which is ridiculous but the gain from these are lot more than we can ever imagine. Upvotes and attention, yes you have to ask for it and create your tribe. I have faith in Steem. Lets see how it works for me.

I have experimented with Steem Blockchain and felt it was still one of the normal blockchains and had too much maintenance in a quarter.
I think they should have better development ideas to be able to compete with the 0x platform. In the future, hopefully Steem will use its revenue to pay for blockchain engineers and upgrade it.

I see everyone here talking about 0x platforms, do they have a social network ? what's the website ? I can't find any social applications on 0x blockchain.

It's crap. Steem blockchain is just another iteration of Dan Larimer's Bitshares. It is also almost the same thing as EOS. Larimer keeps making new blockchains out of the old ones to cash in every time. Why can't he just integrate every feature into one chain?

Dan left steem for a long time, he is nothing to do with it now. It's existing blockchain and improved by the steemit team and witnesses. Eos is not that good for social applications. It's really hard to create a wallet in eos or to use it. They kind want to create a social application, but it was never created, even if it will be it will not compete with steem !

So, steem has nothing to do now with eos. It's a great blockchain in term of proof of brain and it's much better than facebook or instagram or any other social media where we earn nothing by sharing our information that they use to sell.

If you know a better social blockchain tell me about it.

Yeah, the story of many blockchain projects, even those ERC-20 token ICOs - The main developer team who raised the funding for the ambitious coin project leaves for greener pastures, leaving the community to deal with continued development.

Maybe the story of Steemit will be okay if better talented devs are on the helm.

Steem will be a good blockchain related to content creation till the end. Lets face it, lots of new platform now with same concept had their idea with steem and no doubt that old timer here will agree with me. Ive been a steem user and I can say some flaws has been risen but steem still fixing some bugs and issues but its not basis to create fud that it isn't good. Like steem blockchain, fast, and secure.

You are right, it's fast and secure and those who are trying to compete are failing in that. It will always be the first social blockchain that changed the life of a lot of creators. How can I find you in steem by the way ?

A good project, but like most altcoins, has dropped significantly compared to the peak in 2017. Currently, it should be carefully considered when deciding to invest or use.
I also own a large number of Steem, and wait for change!

Do you know about the changes we already have ? You can just power up all steem you have and you will earn much more steem from curation. Now curators are earning %50 and a lot of those who are owning steem power are actively curating or just choosing steemians to autoupvote and they really earn good amount of steem by doing so.

I have a steemit account but it's still at a basic level, I've heard many cheating to vote and follow each other, then share their income. Is this allowed?

i don't really know steem as a cryptocurrency or a blockchain, i think like most people i know it as a platform which looks a lot like reddit (steemit). and although it was advertised as decentralized platform for content creators and at first it looked that way but nothing about it is decentralized which is why i never liked it.  i think it would have been a lot better if they found a way to make it really decentralized and p2p instead of a website like any others.

They have recently introduced the Proposal system to let users actually vote what’s the best to the platform. As least it’s much better than Facebook who only knows about selling ur data.

You are good with your points and I agree to an extent though. I have used steem blockchain for various activities of which content is the mostly used, however owing to constant upgrades, unnecessary rules etc the blockchain is lagging behind. Don't get me wrong, steem is a good blockchain at least it sets the path to social media blockchain platforms, but I think the team really needs to come up with more features which will attract more users other than pushing them away through unnecessary uprades and delays.

Yeah, but the team is not only those who are running steemit. We have a lot of projects built on steem a lot of other applications now and they are doing their best now. For example 3speak, the new video platform is supporting creators very well. They have cool options to make the platform active, to support commenters and creators. It's the biggest project now supported by a lot of whales and other big projects.

It's not just a cryptocurrency, it's a blockchain and steemit is just one of those applications built on it, we have a lot of them. 3speak for videos, dsound for audio, busy.org for articles and much more applications you can find them all here : https://steemapps.com/

About the decentralization, it is decentralized. We don't need any third party to transfer money. It's p2p without any fees and with 3 seconds speed of transaction. You can send any amount of money using steem. If you built something on steem, you will have the complete right to do what ever you want, you set your rules for your project and you're ready to go. I don't know where you see the centralization and how you can prove it.

That was an issue before, but they've finally started to get things done.
HF21 was a pretty big success, bid bots have become really inpopular now and we're seeing a lot of manual curation again.

They're also on track to get SMTs released pretty soon and they've been really good at communicating, which wasn't the case before.

I'm doing really well for myself there!

Just check my stats:
https://steemit.com/@daan

You're right. That was the best hard fork ever. Not only in term of the updates we have now, but also it was done very fast and tested very well. It's really the best time to build on steem. Especially with such price, anyone can join and became directly a minnow or a dolphin and start doing very well there.

After mainnet, too much promise, too little work was done. Postpones, delays and other platforms' growth rates have declined Steem. I think people don't want to deal with Steem mess anymore.

You're maybe talking about steemit and that's only one application on steem. We have more applications created on steem and with them people are enjoying steem. 3speak for videos, dsound for music, actifit for sport, esteem for mobile and much more others, you can find them all here : https://steemapps.com/

You can also check the most famous applications on blockchains here : https://www.stateofthedapps.com/ most of them are built on steem !
