He knows his country. I am not from there and it is hard to judge. I know what the media think about it. I do believe that it is good to have a drug free country. In the USA, the government also did that war with dealers. It was terrible, but nobody talked about the death. Maybe Duterte is doing too much, but fighting crime is never too much. Many families are suffering of that issue and it is good to see him fighting that. I hope he will find a more peaceful way to fight though.

President Duterte's war on drugs is rightly justified with enormous concern to his own countrymen. But should be accurately and justly should not go against immorality of such killings. He is a human too. We are all humans. We are not God whom can tell to when should a life be ended.

I think it is a good thing that the President of the Philippines is on war on drugs because criminal rate now in the Philippines has go down to minimum, and many people are scared to do transaction on drugs because of the President of the Philippines, because they know that if they do so, they will be killed.

i support the war on drug of president Duterte, as a filipino i support myu president cause no one president of th PH did that, He is the only one who did that. drug addiction is like a cancer of society why? cause they commit crimes and they out of their own minds. so we need to stop it spreading or worst we will all in danger and thats why president Duterte doing whats so called "Operation double barrel" to arrest the user, pusher and even the drug Lords.

As a rule, drug addicts commit crimes because drugs on the market are extremely expensive. Therefore, they have to spend all their income on them and there is no money left for the next dose. When they have no money and can't get another dose, they get the cold turkey and lose control of their mind and start robbing and stealing in the urge to get high. However, the reason why drugs cost so much is the war on drugs. If drugs were legal, they would cost extremely cheap so any addict could afford as much as they need and thus there would be no necessity for them to steal and rob as they would steal be able to pay for their addiction maintaining a basic job. The war on drugs is what really makes drugs dangerous.

I think that his War on Illegal Drugs in the Phillipines seriously damage not only our country but also our image to the world. The word that comes to my mind when I hear President Duterte's campaign against illegal drugs is the word "extrajudicial killings". Not only that the alledge criminals are persecuted, but also the rights of the criminals and innocent Filipinos to have the right to persecuted in accordance with the law or undergo due process. The protector of our rights, the Commission of Human Rights, are also under siege of the cronies of President Duterter. Also, our image to the world has been smuded. It puts our country into bad light since almost every country, plus the world institutions like the United Nations, condemn our President and its campaign against illegal drugs.

At first i was amazed by the strategy that he made to fight drugs...he even ran after to those politicians involved on drugs...but as time passess by and looking after the innocent people who has been killed i had second thoughts of it...why it had happen?? Some policemen became arrogants when they do the operation..just because they were suspected people involved with illegal drugs without any hesitation they will shoot them and say "nanlaban"...i think it is quite too much

Duterte is an old school, this war on drugs is the easier strategy for him to fight drugs and of course there are other ways to fight drugs the government can always decriminalize drugs then the problem becomes the addiction on drugs.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PRESIDENT DUTERTE and his WAR on the DRUGS in the PHILIPPINES?

snip

I dont think this is the best move because many people die because of this campaign about drugs. We can say that, a best decision will benefit all and maintain the equality of all the citizens. But in this campaign, some innocents die and other people are killing each other just to protect themselves from being tokhang. In this case, there are many mistakes on the decision but i think president duterte is just prioritizing the security and safeness of the majority innocent citizens.

I agree with you on the part that many innocents are being killed, and I think that is too much and is not the best way to fight drugs. So far, almost all of the victims are from the marginalized sector of society. In short, those being killed, the poor, are only the pushers, users and middlemen. Nothing ever happens to the actual drug lords.

Another country in central america tried to do the same thing, creating a war on drugs that also killed many poor people. However, they stopped after years as they found out that what they were doing was futile, and that it achieved nothing.

Students, children, and many more innocents are only considered as "collateral damage" by this campaign against drugs. It's safe to say that yeah it's part of the campaign and that there are consequences, but once it happens to you or your family, I assure you that you won't feel the same. It's extremely unfair to the innocent.

Some might say that what do we prefer, that we let rapists and murderers kill innocents or we kill the drug addicts instead? I'm sorry but that reason is quite illogical, as killing drug addicts doesnt assure that it will significantly lessen criminality, as not all criminals are drug addicts.

I can see that President Duterte is just trying to look out for his people and for the common good, but I think that it is just way too extreme. I respect all your opinions though, and I hope I did not offend anyone.

Almost all the Presidents in the past were into stopping illegal drugs. But its different when our President Duterte became the president. His war on Drugs became the talk of the entire globe and has a lot of controversies because of large number of deaths as soon as he starts his campaign in drugs.and I hate to say this but I think the number of deaths is not normal. Death is not a solution to eradicate drugs.

i think president Duterte doing the right thing on wrong way....Everyone hates drug and those types of people who are bearing drug..So everyone are agreed to stop them and save the country ...President doing the same thing here,,,,,But the road he chooses is the not right...Because everyone have right to live...But that is the not those type of crime,,by which they have tp die....So i think that,,without justice killed those people are not a good deal...

The War on Drugs program of Presidant Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines was applauded be some and was critique also by others at the same time. This issue of concern is a widely-argued by many Filipinos and also other people involved. The side of people agreeing and people disagreeing are in fiery discourse whether it is the right thing to do or not. Well, personally, for me, the war on drugs program is the boldest and by far one of the most fiercest initial move of the government towards the eradicatiin of illegal drugs use in the country. However, I would like also to address that its way of implementation is against the law. It is not a bad program after all, but I think we must also implement it in accordance with the law amd what is reasonable and righteous.

On my view about the on going war on drugs that President Duterte initiated that, first it is a good at the same time bad thing. Good thing because it deters drug lords and would be drug pushers and users into using illegal drugs. The bad thing is that there are operations that even if its a legitimate operation some civilians are also dragged into the possibility of danger.

i am in favor of war on drugs but i didnt like the Scalawag cops literally takes Duterte’s shoot to kill order to undermine the drug war campaign knowing summary killings will surely play into the hands of Duterte’s political oppositions and will be swallowed by the western media hook, line and sinker.

as of now everything is great Rodrigo R. Duterte is the best president in history on our country.

I am not a Filipino, but I would agree with what you had posted. Whatever his critics would say about him, the fact is that Duterte succeeded in reducing the crime rate and drug addiction in the Philippines. He also handled the ISIS rebellion in Marawi intelligently, despite the large number of casualties.

I am not a pro Duterte but i support his war on drugs. Drugs has spread all over the country like a disease and nobody thought the proliferation of drugs in our country is that big. I also believe that non of the killings of suspects were state sponsored because i think that the police officers behind the killings voluntarily killed the suspects because they themselves are part of syndicate behind drugs. Dead men tell no tales.
