Just curious, what does it take to go from Newbie to Jr Member status?  Is it measured on your number of posts or hours logged in the forum?  I like this forum, there are some pretty smart people and lots of good advice, I don't post much so just don't want to be a newbie forever since I don't make that many posts..

I feel like my posts are getting deleted now that the two weeks are over. Is that normal? Huh
Often when my postsare deleted I receive an email letting me know.
If the whole thread gets deleted you won't receive a message about your deleted post. It's normal to have your posts deleted it means that the thread you posted on is a low quality/duplicate one even though you've made a constructive reply.

But you need to make 14 posts in two weeks and same in the next two weeks.
Not exactly 14 posts is required because of potential activity. You could post once every two weeks and still reach Jr member by posting more than 14 on the next activity date to get the other 13 that you've missed. If one of your 14 posts that you've made in the last 2 weeks gets deleted you should get a potential activity.

I think you have to cross 28 activity to become a Jr member, and thus usually takes four weeks.
It could take less, as the merit window opens every two weeks, and you could join in close to the end and still get promoted.
But you need to make 14 posts in two weeks and same in the next two weeks.

I think it is normal for people's post to get deleted by moderators or because it is reported by others, especially if they always made a low quality posts in several bad quality thread. Now ask yourself a question, do you think your post is of a high quality post?

I'm a long time member of this forum. Since I mainly read, I have to get my post count up to become a standard member. Have a great day.
Well, after 11 months here reading, you've still to grasp that not just post count has to be considered, but merit and interest/quality of posts. Your first four posts (all your current history) are not good examples of how to go around this forum really….

For reference, I'm 22 hours in with 22 posts. Is the 14 day period (when they update your profile) a set date in reference to your account, in reference to the website's policy, or in reference to your last post?

Actually, not a number of posts, but number of activity. As i know,if we reach the activity 30,we will automatically ranked up to jr.member, and will takes a month of postings, not more than two posts every day.

It will not necessarily take a  month to become a Jr member. It can be done in 16 days days if you register and start posting one day before an activity period.

I think you should post 30 previous activities that match topics like the following rules
Post is the number of your posts
Activity is the number of your posts in the biweekly period (14 days).
eg 2 weeks I just post 8, then the activity will only increase 8.
then I Post again until 20, my activity so 14!
Why 14? why not 20 ??
because the addition of activity only increased by 14 every 2 weeks

May you explain why your status is still junior? I see that you having value 69 at the moment.

It is because he has 0 merit, recently the forum has incorporated a merit system that goes along the activity for the member-level requirements.

I have spent so much time here without realising that you need to post as well. Assuming I have been active for 30 days without posting can I just post 30 times ? I doubt it will work

Activity is designed in a way that you need not post daily for it to rise. You can complete all 14 activity in  a particular activity period by making the 14 posts in a day. You can even post more and these will be counted when you make at least one post in ext activity period.

Just curious, what does it take to go from Newbie to Jr Member status?  Is it measured on your number of posts or hours logged in the forum?  I like this forum, there are some pretty smart people and lots of good advice, I don't post much so just don't want to be a newbie forever since I don't make that many posts..

Regards,

I am sure that you already know since you are now a jr. member but for the sake of explaining it, it is exactly 30 activities. 30 activities is obtain by the number of activities you have, but it doesn't mean you can post all you want and gain all activities you want. Activities has a limit, a maximum of 14 activities can only be obtained in2 weeks. That is like 1 post per day.

The time of log in doesn't really matter. But it just really takes time to rank. Just be patient and everything will be worth it at the end.
Thanks for the information but my part of the story is a bit interesting where I came in to look here as a guest from past a year just to see news about bitcoin untill recently I signed up just to see how it is being a member and now I am really enjoying to explore more things. Hopefully, I wish to get on the next boat asap Smiley

Multiple 2 weeks..Oh boy...So we need 6 weeks to be a junior member 14 week one 14 week 2 registered activity and on the 6th week hopefully have more than 30 activity to become a junior member...Also thus total logged in time matter?

Yes, exactly. They add 14 points for every two week period that you're active - but your total activity is never more than the number of posts that you have.

To get over 30 activity, you need to be active in at least three 2-week periods, AND have at least 30 posts

So if you posted 6 times in one two-week period you'd have only 6 - you'd need to wait another 4 weeks AND post another 24 times.

If you posted 6 times over 3 months, once every two weeks, it would be a bit different. You'd still have only 6 points, but if you posted 24 times you'd jump up to 30 points the same day.

AFAIK, time logged in is meaningless.

how is it possible to have been a member since 2011, but still be a newbie?

Your account age doesn't matter if you've only posted 10 times total. You need to post many times, in multiple 2-week time frames. Specific details above.

Exactly.
You now need 30 activity to be jr member.

The way activity is calculated can be found here.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-rankspositionsbadges-what-do-those-shiny-coins-under-my-name-mean-178608

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every 30 minutes.
