Haven't seen it back on the red as usual in the previous days, it seems this is indeed the one thing that happened that started the price movement that will continue to try lead in a higher direction again. Seems would be more people are likely smile for the next when checking on the price movements day by day.

Big pump what happen ? What do you think dream ? or real.

Seems like that the markets have changed sentiments.

I think the pump could be attributed largely to the fact that bitcoin price was so stable at the $6600-6800 level which prompted a lot of people into buying, since they see that there is effective support at that level. When there is periods of stability and relatively small movements in price, it usually tends to mean that a pump is not far off.

And this pump has been just magnified by the fact that there were so many shorts in the market that were wrecked, pushing the price further up. But buying right now is buying into fomo which is something I think you shouldn't do. Wait for the dip after this pump to accumulate if you want to take on BTC as a long term investment.

As of now the price of the bitcoin is $7800 dollars olus and if you see the price last few hours ago the price again reached $8000 and I think that's the good sign because once the price increase it will continue and that's good to us because if the price increasing we will earn more money again so better to buy more bitcoim again and hold it for few years to gain big profit.

Big pump what happen ? What do you think dream ? or real.

Yes, it really did happen. I thought I was dreaming for a second as well when I saw the news saying that bitcoin reached $8k as well. It's crazy how fast bitcoin can go up within a span of a day, and change the mood in the market entirely.

Bitcoin did peak at $8050 or thereabouts, which imo means that $8k resistance isn't ready to be broken yet.

The main reason seems to be a huge liquidations in bitcoin shorts, caused by the price rise at first. I wouldn't become 100% bullish yet and I'd rather observe some more before calling this a sustained uptrend. The price could really come down as quickly as it went up, since it went up just so fast.

Don't expect a new bull market to happen right now because it will definitely take a few more months before the consolidation phase is completely over.

Big pump what happen ? What do you think dream ? or real.

It's not a dream. You can trust this. This is real. This happen by the day traders and holders are thankful now to day traders. This happened only by them. It's the good game.I love to play this game. When ever the price stuck,I will buy a bitcoin and if it's started to raise.I will sell at the maximum price.

The bitcoin has traded in a range between $6500 to $8000 recently. So if it does not break the $8200, it will go below $7000 again.

If the value of bitcoin reaches $10000 then we can assume that bitcoin has gained stability and it is ready for one more bullrun but if it drops down then I have no idea what could be the next thing.

Somebody is buying to make the price go up, but I don’t know the reason. It could just be that enough buyers think the prices have bottomed out and as more people buy, others jump in.

One thing that often happens is that if the price spikes up quickly, some people will sell for a quick profit, so a correction is almost always going to happen. That doesn’t mean that none of the gains are legitimate.

Lol if that was soros, it was not much. I guess somebody tried to trigger a bullrun. Why should i buy that much bitcoin in one hour instead of buying slowly for 6.7k ish each coin.

Soros.... Soros doesn't need to buy Bitcoin directly, but can just choose to go short or go long with futures. I'm not sure why people here keep thinking that wealthy individuals will actually buy crypto while they don't even want to own any -- financial tools allow them to get the same exposure, and that without actually owning anything. It would be a great trap if this 'pump' was only meant to make people buy coins at current levels for some easy profits. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if we happen to tank back. Or it's just whales looking to clean up the sell orders between $7000 and $8000 to make it easier to move up for the market. We'll see how long this euphoria boost will last....

Eh what? I just missed that! And now I see the news. 1K in just 60 minutes. Been such a long time since we saw this kind of spike, 15% or more? Anyone came up with the specific reason yet? Volume also peaked I see. We going to say it's Wall Street again? Thought them moneybags were already lined up with brokers, so it's got to be whales on exchanges.

Today it looks like someone wanted to trigger a "bull run sentiment", or at least trigger some FOMO, or perhaps the whales wanted to wipe out shorters?  (i'm going with the latter Cheesy )

Looks like it didn't work though. Probably everyone rushed to take profits at 8k, too tempting not to.

I don't see any news that can quickly push the price until $8k above, but my friends telling me that someone is investing a lot in bitcoin.

I found an article here https://www.ft.com/content/3d52eec8-3e54-11e8-b7e0-52972418fec4

According to this article, Santander is planning to use blockchain tech for their new foreign exchange.

Quote
Santander, the large Spanish lender, plans on using blockchain technology for a new foreign exchange payments system.

So this is the only reason that I think why the price jump at $8k then because of the day traders the price right now drop around $7700.

Well, hope that the price will continuously increase more soon because of this news.

The thing is, there doesn't need to be any particular news triggering this, just the fact that anyone that doesn't hold at least 1 BTC in 2018 while having enough fiat to have at least 1 BTC is an absolute moron, so people with enough money to get a good chunk are all looking at each other, seeing what the next move will be. These FOMOs can happen out of nowhere. Remember that the fundamentals are still as solid as always for Bitcoin. We don't need some stupid bank making some stupid "blockchain statement" to pump the price, it just takes people with money while knowing what Bitcoin is, finally taking a position in Bitcoin instead of gambling by hoping that you can get in cheaper, because there's always a bigger whale that can get in before you do, pumping the price, and then it's over because the rest will follow.

There are now a lot of speculations above this big move, some even say Soros got in... the point is, it doesn't really matter, this is a natural thing to happen in Bitcoin after a big correction. Everyone is looking for the perfect bottom, eventually a big whale stops risking it and goes in, rest follow to not be left behind.

Back in the day these sudden swings in the price or pump like the one we saw today were pretty common, I was used to these pumps as they occured almost on a daily/weekly basis. In fact, people were surprised to see Bitcoin stagnation rather than sudden pumps or dump, so I find it interesting that a 10% increase in the price is causing such commotion.

Today it looks like someone wanted to trigger a "bull run sentiment", or at least trigger some FOMO, or perhaps the whales wanted to wipe out shorters?  (i'm going with the latter Cheesy )

You can not buy anything and wait for the price drop. But why do not you bought the coins for $ 6,700? I think you will not buy at any price. You just don't have the money. I expect a slight price correction, but in General, we are waiting for a stable increase in prices for all cryptocurrencies. Such sharp upward jumps will be the norm this year.

Wtf are you talking? I bought mine in 2013 and holding.

Big pump what happen ? What do you think dream ? or real.

Margin traders continuing their game. Shorts hunting longs and longs hunting shorts.
And today we saw a massive short squeeze. When this happens you generally see the price pumping a bit.
However I wouldn't overstate this move. We are still bearish. So nothing has changed so far.

Don't fall this pump. Highly debatable price growth out of nowhere. No TA directed towards this as we were in a bear phase. Hence, this wasn't an organic price growth. The sudden altcoin growth followed by BTC pump to $8k in an hour sounds a lot fishy. This isn't how the market works. There need to be some news or indication towards the price growth. The pump of 17% in an hour is termed as artificial even in a shit coin. Thus, BTC going up by 17% in an hour is an obvious pump much likely to be followed by a dump soon.

Yes it's a dream lol.

As a newbie, you must understand that this kind of pump is just a common movement that you may see in the market. If there's a big dump, there's also a big pump although I don't considered this a "big" following the amount of dip it were established since it was first started. Maybe a good sign of bull run but still no one knows how far it will go through so better be always ready and never erased the chances that there will always be a price decrease.

I like how one single pump can make the people here go nuts like they won the jackpot. Cheesy

Still way better compare to those people who saying crypto is dead because of the recent price decrease that happened. Smiley
