"The world ain't a perfect place. I'm just here to make it that much less perfect..." Mr. Toad from Tails of Toad

He-he well played Convert that qualifies as a fair use of a sig in that section  Wink
But well Tradefortress started it with inputs and an addicting campaign, Stunna ramped it up and here we are now still waiting on a theoretical new forum that will clean it all up.

Or you know Theymos decides to double down on the ranks again, sort of inflation adjusting.

There's not much going on with btc the forums gone to shit overrun with sig farmers and noobs plus there are many other places to get news and discuss things.

The old timers have moved on. Simple as that

My posts are nearly always soaked in humor.  Have you missed the last 4+ months of epic Gavinista lolcow milking?

If you don't get the (albeit occasionally bone dry or tounge-in-cheek) jokes, it's because you are being an easily-offended frump (and they are often engineered precisely to be at the expense of the thin-skinned).

I used to follow the GCBU thread but got bored eventually. And nope it's not because I'm an "easily-offended frump", more because I found the endless stream of the same few arguments peppered with heavy doses of lame ad hominems to be boring. And this goes for both sides of that "debate".

I am no "Gavinista" - I'm someone who has no clue and thus hasn't made up their mind yet. Which is precisely the reason why I was eager to read well-presented arguments and perspectives arguing for this or that. I have learned my lesson and will have lower expectations the next time around. Here's how I defined my role in case you care (manual quote because topic is locked):

Quote from: easily offended gavinista frump
I am very aware that I have little to no technical knowledge to offer in this space. That is why I limit my activity to the one beneficial service I can provide: pointing out, that we are all allies in the intellectual fight against centralized one world government and in order to succeed, we need to leave our egos at the door, lest we just end up mimicking the struggle for becoming top-dog, alpha-males, claiming control over what people should do and think, which makes up the current structure of TPTB. We need discord for the decentralized agenda, so let's be friendly about it, shall we. Discord can be a lot of fun.

Eh for me it was pretty much this sort of behavior with Icebreaker being a prime example. I respect the dude he has a lot of insight into btc and its ecosystem but the level of hateful ad hominem vitriol he has been spewing just turned me off and I didn't feel like participating in the discussion. Not that I'd have too much to say anyway. Just using him as an example now, there have been others, many many others.

WTF kind of fake-ass Discordian whines about a little shit-stirring?

OMG that awful Hagbard Celine, with his nasty piracy, just turned me off and blah blah blah I'm taking my ball and going home.

OMG that hateful Eris, with her terrible pranks, just made me feel like not participating in any more parties!

You must be trolling us!  No True Discordian would ever (unless spoofing) be so thin-skinned.

I invoke Poe's Law!   Cheesy

Finally you show some humor. Obviously discord is to be cherished for the boundless source of unpredictable creativity it is but FUCK 'EM IF THEY CAN'T TAKE A JOKE. This humorless, serious-business trench warfare of opinions has me bored to tears and is nothing I will have any part of. Which is just as well - we Discordians must stick apart. Do you even understand what it means to be a POPE? The part about infallibility does NOT extend beyond the confines of your own nervous system and people not grokking this makes for a bland taste of discord indeed.

"Finally?"   Huh

But that's fine, even ideal, as your astute point about how "Discordians must stick apart" illustrates.

I suspect your Gavinista sympathies are the reason why you somehow missed the hilarious meta level absurdity of our "serious-business trench warfare" over an obscure internet nerd fight!

Even the normally phlegmatic Nick Szabo couldn't resist getting in on the fun and clowning the Gavinistas.

So lighten up Francis!  We'll have bigger blocks eventually, just "not tonight, dear!"   Cheesy

censorship gave this forum a final huge kick in the nuts    Angry

this forum just had its Mt. Gox moment   Cry

bitco.in is where lots of old-timers went.

If this forum is so censored and Gox-like, why does thezerg still post here?  Is hypocrisy a hobby of his or what?   Undecided

"Lots?"  More like 6...

OK Mr. thezerg, time for you to fork off and join your fellow dead-ender zero-percenter friends on Frap.doc's Island of Misfit Gavinistas!

Don't forget to scramble your password and turn in your prox card at the front desk!

Old timers are probably away from this forum but are very much active in investing in bitcoin. For speculation discussion, I always visit TradingView as I feel that the proposals there have more substance compared to the repetitive "BITCOIN IS DEAD" and "HODL TO THE MOON" threads here in bitcointalk. Sorry if this is the wrong sub forum to post this.
Wondering where they went...I used to lurk around here and it was easy to simply ignore the shills on both ends and obtain some real wisdom.
Now it seems like overwhelming majority either bought at $800+ and are mad about it, or they fall into 2 catagories of extremist thoughts ie;moon or failed experiment. I'm long...guess I'm a bull"tard" lol (who's the genius that came up with that moniker)? and I don't trade. For a few years now, I buy small and slow...would really like to hear from some of the jedis I used to see here. Did they all stop visiting, or did they get tired of meaningless posts declaring fate of btc to be either dead or best thing since sliced bread?
I just read through the speculative board and I see wonderful topics that, if discussed like intelligent adults, would really be beneficial to the entire community. But those (very relevent) topics are plauged with nonsense. How is an old Bulltard like myself supposed to learn anything new?
Bah...guess I really DO sound old, huh? Go ahead and clown on my post but please, if anyone knows where the new playground is...help me out and link me up.
Ty for listening.

They have given up and stop hoping for bitcoin and sold their coins to others.
Its what they do I guess.

Based on what? Most old timers hold at least some coins...what if...They just leaved this forum since the heavy trolling and censorship came...I loved the wall thread before 2 years, many smart people were there...now? It is mostly trash after trash...so these things demotivates you from being active in the forum, but it doesn't demotivate people from btc ideology and possible future financial gains
