I'm surprised they chose to get rid of the newb restrictions. I've definitely noticed  lot more spam or useless threads in other forums now. Kinda hoping they come back.

I feel like theres more spam then.. no?  Undecided

I mean most of us already deal with it, from our daily gmail accounts. I dont want to read more spam..

Don't you have a separate account you use on sites you believe you will receive spam from?

I give it a month before they put it back up. The spam and garbage posts are already starting to flood in by the hour.

I've been doing my part to keep them busy: http://instagram.com/p/jiPW0zFb3k/ (found via Twitter, but it's my creation)

Newbie restrictions was somewhat useful in filtering out spam accounts. :/

I think the newbie board has been merged into Help & Beginners: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0

That wasn't there before, was it?

Did BTCTalk take it away?

Gone forever..

Not quite. It's just been archived. You can still post in there. Maybe it'll come back one day. Let's see how much crap we get in the other sections now.

I don't know if it can get any worse  haha. I hardly ever go in there anyway because it's just crapcoin after crapcoin. Baffles me how people still jump on this coins when they offer nothing at all.

Some of the alt coins are worth it and look promising. But, the amount of spam in the alt coin section is getting worse and worse by each day.

What promise do they offer? A quick little bit of profit then dump them for the next clone? These coins have little-to-no long-term value.

I really don't understand why the Newbie Board was taken away.

As a newbie myself only a couple of months ago, it was almost a good thing to be restricted. If it wasn't for that, I might've had some information overload.

Plus, the restrictions weren't THAT bad...

That's exactly how I feel. At least they were contained before.

It's going to cause a lot of spam in the Bitcoin discussion sub forum but it seems not that much at the moment.

I am sure the altcoin section is worse off Tongue

I too am new here, I was going to post a long hello message onto the off topic area but for some reason I kept getting an error like "Your IP has posted 360 seconds ago please try again later" so I will post the message I was going to have down below.

"Hey there folks, just joined the site, started getting into bitcoin, heard about it for quite some time and never really paid it much attention, now that I have started... I am lost and confused, tho from some tuts I found I guess I got it working right.

I didn't come here to really talk about that, I came here to make some friends, learn a thing or 27, I have skype and etc, wouldn't mind making some friends on here, chatting on there, learning from them and what not, my skype is ZaneLear, add me if you would like to.

This part might be off topic but I was starting with cgminer 3.7.0 since it seems to work for me, is there a way to change from gpu to cpu since I can just use my 8 cores to mine and it would be heck of a lot faster or is there something else I can use?"

I hope to make some friends on here, see what comes of BC mining and if possible to make a living in these trying times.
