Poloniex: they Can’t Support Bitcoin Gold for Now According to Poloniex, the reason for the uncertainty is due to the security and stability of the software remaining unknown as of now. Additionally, it was unable to determine network conditions before BTG launched this week. https://www.bitsonline.com/poloniex-bitcoin-gold-notice/

I've actually just received a return moments ago Smiley

All due loans have just gone through here also.

Thanks Poloniex support

Anyone else has bitcoins on loan there that still haven't been returned although they should have? (talking about a few hours late, so far)

However, I've raised a support ticket & will update when I get any response.

So, poloniex is down? Or they are going to be scam?

I don't know what's really happening to them right now. What we know for sure is that there are so many people who are angry at them right now because of the shitty service that they're providing right now. Many traders lost their money because they couldn't trade in crucial moment especially when a coin is being dumped heavily. They're raking a lot of money from the fees that they're charging us but they couldn't afford to buy hi-end servers.

Its up right now. Maybe it just went down for few minutes while you were checking, you should wait for some time before accusing them of scam.
are you serious? They are going down continuously everyday... check there: http://poloniex.com/trollbox ; People are leaving polo...

this.
i'm considering switching to bittrex or kraken, does anyone know if the issues polo has faced in the past 1-2 weeks are also being experienced by these two exchanges?
They're not.

Bittrex is a much better exchange than Poloniex - decent trading volume, running for longer, more coins, etc.

Poloniex's activity is extremely suspicious - slow withdrawals; downtime only when a coin pumps; "DDoS attacks" which don't let us trade but do make the coin get dumped in the middle of it, and more.

Poloniex works but they are cheap as Fu on the servers which causes significant lag time on peak load.
It also really burns a position whenever the servers crash and the price dumps or rises and people get margin burned or position locked ...

They are not going to be scam because they are just experiencing a lot of ddos and also a lot of additional volume of users to their site and its making their site lag because of the huge demand and website user from the different parts of the world.

What do you think about hitbtc? I am planning to shift there. Without the volume, it's better than poloniex. Trading is very smooth there.

well, they do have the bad service but the volume is still very high. I think that all those volumes are fake and it can not prove anything. Poloniex is following mt.gox path. Save your money while you still can
Is there any way we as users can verify the volume the coins have? I know that they have cold storages of ~100 million, but that's it?

Bittrex is quite stable, but their market volume compared to poloniex is nothing, however they do have a lot more coins listed.

If bittrex had as many users as poloniex, it would probably also lagg out like crazy.

I don't think that poloniex will become the new mt. gox. They have been in business for way too long for such a thing to happen. And based on what do you think the volume on Poloniex is fake?
Regardless, you should never keep your full portfolio on an exchange just for security measures.

I agree their servers are really bad and I get that it pisses off people but as long as the volume remains at Poloniex the majority of traders will remain at Poloniex.

Well, if they won't improve their server power, they can see a lot of members getting out of their platform.

There were many complaints on their customer support as well, as they take an awful amount of time to check on the documents (Source: Facebook Friends who are big volume traders)

Been using Polo for about a week and a half, there has been 2 DDoS attacks this week, but nothing drastic outside of a bit of lag hear and there. Most of the people crying in the troll box are Newbs, i saw a guy blatantly say he made a mistake and transfered LTC to his BTC wallet, then complained for an hour about how he got his money stolen by Polo. Alot of the stuff in that chatbox is pure comedy i treat it as entertainment.

it is only DDOS i think Poloniex is not weak as other site that already get DDOS attack. so no need to really worried about it. maybe it disturb us when we want to trade but i think they still safe
I shouldn't worry about it? I lost ~10% in less then an hour. That's not funny.

Also they say it is a ddos attack, but who really knows? They have provided 0 proof of that, and TradingBots were still able to trade as far as i know.

It is so embarassing that we still have this happening on the biggest altcoin exchange. It really shouldn't be possible, people are losing extreme amounts of money due to this.
So, poloniex is down? Or they are going to be scam?

It was up the entire time, but you just couldn't trade. Trollbox was working just fine, but i think you could only place orders through Api's? not sure. I couldn't place orders at all.
