Ethereum is a scam plain and simple. They haven't produced shit especially for 30,000 btc when it was worth 900$ a coin. Fuck you could build a ship to the moon for real with that.

That's why IPOs, especially if they collect more than 100 BTC, are always a scam in crypto.

100% of all cryptocurrencies, for the most part, are programmed in the proverbial basement.

To be fair that is really no different from the origin of Apple, Google and numerous tech companies.  But the difference was those companies actually waited many years before issuing a public IPO (sometimes even as long as a decade) and had completed products and revenue streams.

How come Apple and Google didn't need an IPO before releasing stuff but Ethereum needed $16 million and subsequently blew right through it?  As I said IPOs in crypto are largely scams.

Goldman + Muppets == Ethereum

Your glitter guy post reminded me of this piece of work someone did when the Ethereum IPO was on. I'm not saying Ethereum was originally intended to be a blatant scam, but it's beginning to look worse and worse after each new delay to the project. It will be interesting to see if the end result was worth investing in.

nice one... got a good lol on that...

It doesn't matter. As long as somebody makes a platform to connect key mulitiplication with ethereum contracts in order to make a provable ethereum-bitcoin exchange, then you can create contracts in ethereum that just have the first execution condition being "start when account X has Y money in it". It's like non-zero volume to be valuable. Hell you wouldn't even need to do the money in ethereum coins, the contract could just be fulfilled as executing a very cheap tx which has data in it which is a nonce-password to unlock bitcoins for some party that has another part of the password. Ethereum would just be like namecoin super cheap, and primarily the means to execute the underlying code. Their value would depend solely on the value of the usefulness of the protocol and its differences from bitcoin, which would make people WANT it to work, which would make them WANT to mine it in order to protect and promote that protocol, which would drive up the price of the coins.

Haven't heard of that shitcoin for a long time.

It has entered the Frontier phase and the dev tools are good
enough to do some serious work with.

You have probably not heard about it because Ethereum is not so well
represented here in the Shitcoin & Shill City.

Shitcoin & Shill City, that's funny :-)))

Please be careful with your statement because you will hurt the feelings of the local resident cheerleaders. After all, for example, the lead developer of Vertcoin is a 17 years old school boy who last week was preparing  for his A level exams (and young man was understandably upset that he doesn't have time to develop the coin which will bring prosper and happiness to humanity) ... and actually he is one of the better devs here as at least the young man is trying to do something meaningful with his time by completing his high school ... oh dear .. oh dear.

Now, we have to compare the 17 years old Vertcoin lead developer to Dr. Gavin Wood, the lead dev of Ethereum. Gavin is a fine scientist and a brilliant C++ developer, and therefore obviously he can't compete with the 17 years old devs in Shitcoin & Shill City. Don't expect the shitcoin foot soldiers/scheerleaders will check out Gavins' code and work even it is public in Github, that's not how they operate, they just scream Ethereum is a scam while getting scammed by con artists on Bitcointalk.

Shitcoin & Shill City is a strange world indeed.

There was already warning in advance.  Ever noticed they had an original IPO in January 2014, based out of Ontario (Canada), but abruptly ended it and later relocated to Switzerland to do their second IPO?  DING DING DING.  That was the first red flag.   If they couldn't run something legally in Canada (which barely regulates crypto compared to the US) then it's indication they were up to no good.

Heh.  Been there done that.  I spent most of last year talking with multiple BIG international law firms about where was the best place to locate a crypto company.  All they could do is tell you that it's a regulatory minefield out there (with moving, heat-seeking mines) and nobody knows what the regulators will do ... including the regulators.

So watching any crypto company pivot and dance just means they are dodging regulatory bullets as they see them coming, nothing more.

Ethereum was the biggest altcoin scam EVER.

Bitshares may have not been as large of an initial scam, but they keep pivoting their scam and are right up there at this point.

Why do you say shit like that when you know that's not true at all? Both have been transparent about what they are trying to do. Would you rather keep cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology stagnant than innovate and pivot where need be?

I'm terribly disappointed with this community. It discouraging enough that most people don't understand the importance of the blockchain, its even more discouraging when so called proponents of blockchain tech don't understand the importance of trying new things.

If you put you're money into one of these platforms thinking you were going to get rich quick you are a loser and don't understand how investing in start ups works.
