because no one knows, so it's natural that no one knows your coin and it could really be lost if you die.
Me too, because I don't want the confidentiality of my wallet to be exposed by anyone and I don't tell anyone the key, including my family.
but i always make a small note on my laptop which contains all the keys from my wallet but just in case if i die my next of kin can still manage and atleast they continue what i am doing.
but whatever it is, wallet confidentiality is still the main thing, don't let many people know so that your coins are safe

In most of the cases when the person dies, his crypto would become useless if his family member do not know about his keys.

I do not usually tell my password or keys to anyone and i know majority of the people don't do this. We are being taught to keep the keys safe.
No one think that one day he will die and in that case, his family won't be able to use those savings (bitcoin/crypto) if they don't know the keys.
Also people won't like to share keys with siblings or wife because they can misuse them . So what could be the solution to this  Huh

Honestly, at this point, I can't say where our crypto will be when we die. but I've tried several alternatives, namely:
entrust it to a friend who is my profession so that if in the future I did then he can manage my property and give it to my family (with a 50% risk of being stolen by him) I leave everything to his trust as long as he knows me.
and the second option is while I am still around then I will continue to teach my kids to get to know some crypto trading early on and he is now 17 years old I am sure he can manage my crypto legacy in the future.

I will withdraw my assets as soon as possible when I am sick, when I really want to get out of cryptocurrency, I do not have many cryptocurrency assets, because it is difficult to inherit in the future, even if I tell trusted people about wallet access there is better I will withdraw everything.
Not every death is as a result of a sickness, and not every death leaves signs that it's about to come, more often than not, it's an unforeseen event, which in such case, if you haven't made any prior plan beforehand your coins could be unused (lost) forever. I think it's much better to create a backup plan regarding your assets when you're gone, most prolly integrating one or two of your family or closest person into what to do when you're no longer permanently around, if you're waiting till you fall sick before doing something, you'll prolly lose your funds in case something bad happens.

They will be lost forever and add decrease the number of coins in circulation, making bitcoin even more scarce and more valuable Cheesy
Maybe my family eventually comes up with an idea o access my wallet. The password is going to be among my private things o hat if they are thorough enough they'll do it with ease.

Frankly I hope to be able to spend all my coins before I die so I don't think about other people accessing my coins when I'm dead.

The only thing that would happen if you die without any member of your family or even one of the closest person to you didn't access your wallet then your coin will vanished too. We all know already about it but what we don't know when is our call time. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the fruit of our hard work while we are breathing because we are all deserve to do it but we can't tell what would going to happen so in my case I am already wrote it in my data logs which as of now it is only me who knows about it but I am also starting to teach my younger brother about crypto.

Uhm maybe the good idea for that bro is to write all your keys in a piece of paper and keep it in your wallet because surely when you die they will search for it especially if they all knew you were making money with bitcoin.. Or just make a note for them just incase what will happen. What i mean not your keys but a letter that will tell the direction where did you hide your keys so that they can access your bitcoin.. And it's up to you how to make it easier to find that note.. Because it's your family and you know more about them like how they really care on your stuff and etc.. So its all up to you where do you want to hide it.

after our death maybe bitcoin will not be lost and we can still access it by giving a pin to our friends or family. because this business will still exist until we are no longer alive. maybe this is too much for us to discuss a post-mortem business. we still want our account to be as before then we have to give it to our relatives or familymaybe that is one of the right steps that we need to do for our account so that we can maximize it after our death

The coins will be lost forever after you are gone from this planet and cannot be recovered by any hack and the supply of 21 million coins will be reduced by that much.Turn your Bitcoins into fiat and save them at some high price or the other way is to have trust on someone whom you love and is close to you and is not that much outspoken. You can give him the hold of your keys and seed phrase in an encrypted format and he can decrypt it at some point so that after you he can have the funds and enjoy his life.So it's better to share rather then wasting them and moving them out of circulation.

I will give the key to my wife, therefore I want my wife to have the same hoby as me i.e. trade and also know more about cryptocurrency, so that if one day I die, I do not lose everything, whenever my wife can take my assets. for the future of her and our child
It is a must that we must have someone who knows what we're doing as well how to access our account or if we have will that can do to explain how to access it.  But it will be much better if we have someone who already into it and we trusted them to know our account since we don't if something happens so all our investments will still be accessible by the people matters to us than left it in our account till crypto gone which may not happen so soon.

Good idea if you can bring your wife to this industry and she shows that same interest for sure

all your hard work will not be wasted in case time for you to go and live everything to your wife

your family will enjoy those invested money and have a better life after..

In the US as of recently there are custodial services that offer transfer of coin to next of kin in the event of death.

This is how i am thinking as well, i am healthy and i do not think i will be dying while holding a lot of coins. I do not have a next of kin to take care of the wealth but if that happens then i will think about it, but right now i am healthy but i do have a back up of all the wallets and the passwords and the private keys are stored in a separate locker.

I already wrote all of my wallet data in a book, I don't wrote too much just a few emails and passwords that I use in exchange site and wallet data. I hope my family can access my cryptocurrencies. I think it will be good to prevent my cryptocurrencies to be useless. Before this I only safe my data in a device, I am afraid if something happen to my device then I can't access my wallet, I think it is good for me too..

It will depend on each individual. Sometimes, each will have its own strategy.
for me personally, I am a married man, and I let my couple know about this and whenenever I died, it will be managed by her.
And if we are two dead at the same time, hopefully, my children can learn about cryptocurrency someday, that is why telling them earlier is kinda good ways.
However, if we are all dead at the same time, the coins will be lost or if someone finds them someday, they will get them.

It is one of the most frequently asked question in the forum and I think bitcoin or crypto developers would find or make a way on how this can be solved. A sudden death can make your coins go to waste so it would be best that you have some back up files left to your family so that they can access your earnings if ever you die accidentally or unexpectedly. I just hope the developers can make some kind of memorialized option for those who encountered unexpected death wherein through legal documents revealing the relation of a certain family member, they can access the account or withdraw to make use of it.
that's how it is, concerns about losing access to our assets if we die suddenly need to be prepared. That's why I always share with my wife and teach her how to earn money from cryptocurrency. I make a special note regarding the secret key to access all the wallets I hold, as well as my wife, so if something goes wrong then the asset is still safe and can be used.

This is a precaution that really must be prepared. In the past, there must have been a lot of people who didn't think that bitcoin would be this fantastic in price, that's why many lost access to their wallets because they stored keys carelessly, and look how many regret it.

this is a very complicated issue to be resolved....
Well, you have a point, this is a very complicated question because there are possible consequences and it will depend on the situation.
Perhaps all you have to do is write down the private key and put it into your valuable belongings something in a vault or any safety place that belongs to your valuable assets. In that case, once they found it, they will surely have proper research on how to use it, --everything is now on the internet and there is too many tutorials how to use bitcoin, for sure your family will not hard to understand what it bitcoin and how to use it safe.

this is a very complicated issue to be resolved, you asked a question about in case someone dies as the relatives will have access to the coins of the person who died, but there is another question that is also very important and serious, which is:

in case two people get married and then separate, how is the division of currencies? Do coins count in the inventory of goods that must be shared?

how is the children's inheritance if the parents have coins?

these are very difficult issues to solve

You can hire a lawyer and make a last will testament about this, and explain it there how to access your bitcoin to your heirs.
This is everyone's common problem, when they had died and did not tell their family about his bitcoin and it will not recover anymore, his bitcoin belongs to the forever lost bitcoin that estimated 20% of the entire supply which mean unrecoverable.

We should aware of this, that's why I now start thinking about the best idea when we passed away who will benefit our crypto assets knowing that they are also aware of how to use it and convert it into fiat.

at least we must have the intended heir to hold the private key wallet and be able to access it when something unexpected happens to us.
The inheritance method for wallets like this has been discussed a lot in this forum and even many methods can be used to store private keys safely and only a few approved people know.
If you have many valuable digital assets or have 100 Bitcoins for example, it is very necessary to do all the heir preparations. lest the Bitcoin can not be opened by anyone, when we are not in this world anymore.
