Bitcoin has grown beyond been  just mere digital currency it has grown to building networks of developers and investors who share similar interest so if Bitcoin talk should go offline the network would still continue in discord, reddit , GitHub, stalkoverflow and many other resource sites where developers and investors share similar interest. I don't think true Bitcoin investors and developers would ever get stranded except for those who gamble around Bitcoin and other crypto currencies

Telegram will be the very first and number one place to get in touch with one another, cause it is most times mandatory to join any campaigns telegram channel and official group, then, the managers channel and group all to stay updated about the campaign (this is mostly done in altcoin campaigns). Through this, the subscribers can use their forum nicknames as their telegram username, making it easy to recognize each other. Outside that, Twitter is another open place to get in touch again, then Reddit, and other crypto currency related forums around the web.

Looking at everything from the start point, this is the main and major Bitcoin forum, well known and recognized as a forum which Satoshi created giving it's full control to the hands of the current moderators. This is more like the birthplace of everything Bitcoin, so, it has to stand.
I will say Twitter is more better place than telegram because there are many who will try to imposter themselves as legit person but in actual will try to scam you as we have seen in many cases so for me telegram is not best place to hang out. This is discussion forum and members can get accurate information from senior and expert members but who will verify the source and information on telegram? So it's like interacting through forum PM on which you can be fooled but as a forum this is best place.

Just a newbie curiosity question
Maybe, some of the members here have given you a solution, if the forum is off, but for me I have other options for that, as long as the crypto market or crypto/Bitcoin trading exchange is not off, for me it's fine.

As I see the discussions and information in this forum, also most of the discussions are based on outside information that is being developed again here, I don't bother with that, bigger problem and everyone can't do anything about it, if the internet shuts down the whole world, that's what makes me nervous.

For the OP, before what you have in mind becomes a reality, so from now on make the best use of the Bitcointalk Forum for your future.

If they aren't comfortable sharing contact information outside this forum, then the correspondence will be gone.

But there are a lot of other platforms outside this forum that many users here share. I've made a number of communications outside this forum with some acquaintances here.

However, how many users here are actually friends in real life? I guess not that many. There are probably just a handful especially among local users. Many are probably not interested in revealing their identities behind their usernames. I remember years ago somebody organized a local meetup of users here. I didn't find it exciting.

@Lovemayfamilis is really right ...
Some members have contributed greatly in the growth and stability of these forum and you'll always wish to know them in person but finally you realise that they sometimes just gonna disappear without notice; sometimes not even for very important reasons, most of them feel they should go take some break and they end up not coming back.
Lightlord as disappeared for a while and I heard that he needed serious medical attention and since then, I haven't gotten any information of any kind from him..
They're always close associate in everything you do so you can maybe decide to see yourself somewhere outside the wider world.

Question for the poster: why do you panic about the closure of Bitcoin?
What if it doesn't end for another century?
That's shouldn't even be a problem dude ...
Let's get on and allow it to flow as it whishes, if it ends on the way, then that's worth a while... If it doesn't, keep going ....

To my great regret, some users of this forum have left or simply disappeared for various reasons. We can't do anything about it. We do not know what happened to them and what is the reason for their absence from the forum. Those who communicate closely with each other probably have additional contacts, but you will agree that it is impossible to get the contacts of everyone you need at a certain moment.
So your question looks very naive, if not stupid. This is the internet if you remember. We are in a virtual world, with virtual names. And everyone has their own offline life, which does not appear on this forum. This is not a social network. And finally, if the forum ceases to exist sooner or later, I think no one will die for this reason. Everyone will continue to live and look for other alternative sources for their questions and passions.

Op you misunderstood something, and i want to correct the impression, by putting you through about the sentence that portrayed that Satoshi left bitcointalk community or From the day one (1) bitcointalk is introduced, let me brief you and also inculcate this to you, Satoshi nakamoto were in bitcointalk during the establishment of the forum, and the forum was introduced in year 2009 and Satoshi left the forum in year 2010 (November) if am not mistaken, he made many posts directly to bitcoin discussion board and merely technical development boards, so carry on another research to confirm when Satoshi left the community.

Looking for campaign manager? Contact icopress!
if one day the forum suddenly goes offline how do we link up with each other and keep the discussion going.
Just a newbie curiosity question

First thing to watch would be imho Bitcointalk's Twitter handle.
Then I'm sure that most bitcoin and altcoin reddit areas will contain relevant info. And even some of the shitposters on twitter will give a hint.
It's not that the relevant information will be missing. It's just that you'll have to filter correctly between information and (other platform's) advertising.

Bitcointalk is a biggest home for Bitcoin members but it is not the only one for them. Reddit, Stackoverflow, Bitcoin.org, etc.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/bitcoin
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/
https://bitcoin.org/en/community

I don't understand your questions because Bitcoin network does not rely on Bitcointalk forum. You might have less support from community if the forum shuts down but your Bitcoin node will still be able to keep running on Bitcoin network.

Reddit and Stockoverflow are other perfect places for you to ask and get support.

I'd think this is the alternative chatroom if Bitcointalk goes offline Bitcointalk Party - Discord server but yeah not all users joined the Discord channel.

Some users doesn't comfortable and had privacy concern to share his personal contacts, they're pretty much only want to interact using this forum... outside this forum they're communicate with their close/real life friends. You can always continues discussion about Bitcoin in any forum/chat, but don't expect with the same person.

Researching the history of the Bitcoin networks and this forum I have discovered that the forum was created as the social media platform for bitcoin discussion and other related topics, the forum is created alongside bitcoin by Satoshi 13 years ago, and ever since the domain has remained active, allowing members to meet and make friends on the forum despite being a privacy-oriented forum.
Since Satoshi identity has remained unknown and inactive on this forum since the day 1 of the creation of the forum unless the activities of administrators such as Theymos and others, the thing is what will happen to members network of friends on the forum who may not border in sharing personal contacts e.g email if one day the forum suddenly goes offline how do we link up with each other and keep the discussion going.

Based on Who is the site domain name is still up until 2029 and I guess they also pay for hosting that long but if for some reason Bitcointalk becomes offline the only communication we'll have are other social media that we've communicated like Facebook, Telegram, and other venus but if that happens one of us or a group of us will continue to flame by creating another forum and since we have a Wayback machine or archive sites, we can verify the identity based on the addresses that each one of us signed and posted here.

A lot of people might hop across to stack overflow or reddit.

Stackoverflow is great place for technical question/problem, but it's not meant for casual discussion.

--snip--
So now, how this forum become offline if it seems we are in the decentralized website?

Bitcointalk is centralized, so it's possible this forum going offline.

Don't ever think like this because that's impossible to happen.
We have an admin(s) responsible for this and maybe admins making sure that the forum will long last. In fact, the server of this forum was hosted by https://www.simplemachines.org/ which is an open-source web application that provides Internet forum and message board services based on their website.

There are other alternatives to have some regular conversation among members but nothing similar to this bitcointalk community as i have spend quite a good time over here so can't think of even not having it around at some point. This is by far the biggest btc related discussion community having full load of resources to enhance your knowledge and skills and it won't go offline so easily.

To what i remember there was one such hack on forum in 2013 about which i read on article at some point and then hackers deployed malware after FBI seized btc from silk road case.

Quote
"If you used the same password on Bitcointalk.org as on other sites, you may want to change your passwords," Theymos wrote, adding that Bitcointalk.org will be offline for a while, but several people have backups of the forum.

Source : Forum goes down

Moreover after that @theymos has initiated bug programmes as if you could find any relevant bug on forum you will be rewarded for the same and we have talks about new forum software and many other things. But the main part is if this could happen to bitcointalk then why can't reddit or other sites have the same faith?

So simply enjoy your journey on this majestic forum without any future worries because at the end there are many possibilities and some solutions.

Idk if I read it right, but satoshi wasn't inactive since the day one of forum creation, he was pretty active not until the wikileaks take bitcoin and he just disappeared days after.
Yes, you read right, I think it's a mistake on OP's part of probably a misconception. Satoshi has been here from the beginning, he only left and has since but returned
the thing is what will happen to members network of friends on the forum who may not border in sharing personal contacts e.g email if one day the forum suddenly goes offline how do we link up with each other and keep the discussion going.

Is the forum really a place to make friends or a place to learn and see perspectives of random person's that you have no social or casual relationship with? I think if the forum was created in the model of social media where the purpose is for people to meet and maybe become friends, There would have been a section in our profile that allows us to upload personal pictures. so IMO, i think for making friends is not the primary purpose behind this forum, it can happen, but not the sole purpose of the forum, so do not bother much about what happens if the forum somehow goes offline.
we go to school basically to learn how to read and write, but we do not end up just learning the basics, we also learn morals, ethics, how to speak, attitudes and we make friends as well and at the end of the session, we often feel bad that we may never get to see our friends again. The forum's basics may not be to make friends, but that's bound to happen cause no man's an island of knowledge, if you're opportuned to come through a post where you learnt a lot, you'll be forced to make the poster your friend so you could learn even better.

Lots of business will be affected, considering that most gambling accepting crypto website gathered here to get users, crypto related mixers too and many more crypto-related services. If ever that happens there's r/bitcoin and r/cryptocurrency, just check it, many popular crypto personalities use reddit or twitter platform to discuss instead here.

We all don't want Bitcointalk will be going offline, this is our habit, our hangouts that can be relieved by stress reading discussion after the whole day of work.  But if that's really happened and Epochtalk didn't yet finish, it could be users here that wanted a discussion might got to these two very common platforms that might alternative to this forum.

And for the bounty hunters might here that discussed and have a bounty program of altcoins and shitcoins.
