I believe firmly that in the future a cryptocurrency powerful enough to take bitcoin's top spot is going to exist. And if it doesn't come out yet then that just means the world isn't ready yet. Bitcoin is great and all but it's so linear when it comes to use-case. You can only use it as a store of value, and as a way for you to transfer funds overseas which is something that most cryptocurrencies in the market could do anyway. So I say I'm pretty positive that bitcoin will be overtaken by a much more powerful crypto in the future, and that's okay. For instance, it means that the industry values innovation more than tradition, which could mean that crypto's future is going to look bright, another benefit we could take from this is of course, more chances for newer sets of crypto millionaires. See, we could only gain positive shit even if bitcoin does get to that point. Which is something that amazes me.
I also would not be surprised if in the future a better currency than bitcoin appears and threatens its top position, as we live in an extremely fast-paced world. But what more can you expect when it comes to bitcoin's use cases? Nothing in this world is 100% perfect and we need to be satisfied with what we have. We cannot demand that everything be truly perfect when we ourselves have many shortcomings. Furthermore, there have been millions of altcoins created but none of them can threaten bitcoin so I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

So maybe one day a better version of bitcoin, that we have not imagined today, can be created, to put bitcoin in second place or even put it in the level to compete with altcoins. We're just analysing future events that can happen in the crypto space, but unarguably for no was we have said before bitcoin remains the cryptocurrency to beat.

Competition is good for crypto coins, so that developers can go to work on how to unseat bitcoin, it's all about innovation.
Even Bitcoin is 14 years old and since the beginning of Bitcoin there have been many other platforms that have tried to displace Bitcoin, but in the end, they will only be defeated by the power of the community and they cannot match what Bitcoin has.

There are more versions of Bitcoin that have emerged since its inception, but they have not made Bitcoin lose or even be eliminated.
Perhaps the strongest to date is BCH, but BCH is also a derivative of Bitcoin, so what does it want to prove that it is better than Bitcoin?

snip

Thats one of the strong components of Bitcoin - community and the consensus which goes with it.

So in order to beat Bitcoin a new project has to come up with something which is securer than Bitcoin,
is open source, decentralised and has the backing of firstly: Miners, Node runners and finally the
acceptance of those who are willing to accept its protocol and then to ditch Bitcoin which is PROVEN
to have all the above for something which may or may not work.

Bitcoin has history, has never been broken/hacked/successfully attacked.

Up to now, there is still no project that can defeat bitcoin, not because the bitcoin community is so strong and ready to stop those who want to defeat bitcoin. We are all perfectionists and would gladly leave bitcoin if a better project came along, but so far there is no project better and superior to bitcoin. Most projects are created to make profit, while bitcoin was not created for that purpose in the first place. So there will be a huge difference that leaves bitcoin with no real competition. Bitcoin was created to provide and bring solutions to us through its decentralized, privacy-focused features...Meanwhile, other projects only focus on profits and profits, and to do that they mainly pump and dump, they do not bring any practical utility. So, it will not be easy for us to have a better project than bitcoin appear.

I don't think there will be a currency to beat bitcoin. Bitcoin is emerging as a cryptocurrency with a rapid growth potential. Bitcoin may combine to spell out a bright future. As Bitcoin's unique qualities, its software variants, and new ideas emerge, BTC's update features essential data as a modern currency. While some alt coins have gained popularity in the market, Bitcoin price is out of touch. All alt coins in the market are priced based on the valuation of Bitcoin. In that case there is no question of comparing any coin against Bitcoin. The Bitcoin alternative itself.

I have always left in the possibility of bitcoin becoming an inferior coin and have always been on the lookout for such.  I think that it's entirely possible that bitcoin become a "lesser" coin, but I honestly don't think it's going to happen, or happen anytime soon.  The beautiful thing about the bitcoin blockchain is that it's programmable, and that changes can be made to help it keep up with new and innovative ways to run the blockchain.  Otherwise I would say there's no question that bitcoin becoem inferior to another plan.  Bitcoin also has the "first mover" advantage and that goes a long ways.

This kind of thoughts are quite common, it could be the case, indeed, but it would be very difficult to replicate something like bitcoin... we will see, but it was so well thought, that it might be worth it to expand on it instead of looking for alternatives

It is not easy to consider Bitcoin to get inferior, I understand  a particular transaction a few years ago, at the early life of Bitcoin, it was somewhat forked or something of that nature and millions of coins was created and immediately Satoshi and team worked to remedy it.

Those kind of attacks would have made Bitcoin to be considered an inferior but it has been remedied, it therefore says that it is not easy to have bitcoin as an inferior.

Satoshi's works reflect his passion for financial system transformation. Owning Bitcoin is like owning digital history. The technology world evolves like nature. Its important to remember that being first doesnt mean you'll be around forever.

Bitcoin follows this innovation rule too. It pioneered technology during a financial crisis and lasted for a decade. Technological longevity frequently depends on flexibility and evolution. When a better system emerges is the question.

Belief is key. Why are vinyl records still popular while streaming is king? Pioneers are valued intrinsically. Bitcoin, born at a crucial time, has a popularity that goes beyond technology. If Satoshi's brilliance and enthusiasm inspire a new system, it may not simply be superior technology, but if it can get the same trust and following as Bitcoin.
I do not think that Vinyl is as popular as we think it is, but yes you are right, we do have streaming as an option and yet some people still prefer it, but most people still stream, and by a big margin of difference. I think bitcoin will not be like that, it will always be the most used and loved one, that's the important part.

I understand that it may not be all that better compared to when it started and has to improve a bit, specially on the transaction fee part of it, but I do believe that it will stay at the top without a doubt. That's not because it's the best, I wouldn't say bitcoin and its blockchain is the best, but that doesn't mean that it will get lower, even while being inferior, it will always stay at the top, that's how bitcoin is and will stay forever. I believe that the best thing we could do right now is to make sure that we keep it going as long as possible and we just keep investing into bitcoin like it is the latest greatest thing ever.

Something better does not make Bitcoin inferior.

Bitcoin will always function as it was designed to.

And if we look at it, there are a lot of altcoins that might be better and superior to Bitcoin, like in terms of speed and confirmation times they are very quick. However, the question is, how safe are those altcoins from not being hack?

If the OP is interested, he can check this out: https://howmanyconfs.com

Most likely this is the very reason why bitcoin will not become inferior, it was designed to be robust and it is very secured regardless of the critics saying that it is very slow and not instant.

And even if we have altcoins that is near instant, no one can take the place of BTC and it remain superior.

ive seen lots of people speculating why bitcoin is still number 1 when there are better altcoins and time and time again it has been answered

it’s because bitcoin has already established its name that even if there are better performing altcoins, investors still choose to proceed with the safe and sure choice that is bitcoin

maybe someday there will be a new coin that will be good in all aspects and will build its name and maybe overtake bitcoin but for now and in the next few years i dont think we have to worry about that

Cars made in 2009 cannot be better than cars made in 2023 or later. What if someone with as much genius and passion as Satoshi is creating a system better than Bitcoin?
It seem almost 15 years ago bitcoin was invented till then now No cryptocurrency has been invented that can be compared to Bitcoin. Now here the question you have raised I think it's one kinnda illogical for me. Even then nobody can say what's going to happening on the future. But if I talk about Bitcoin it is the revolution of cryptocurrency journey starting so I don't think in future any other invention that can be compare to Bitcoin.
If the world stops evolving and technology stops evolving then I will agree with what you are saying.  but if this world continues to develop, it is very normal and natural that there will be new inventions better than bitcoin.  we are bitcoin investors and we love it, but don't be stubborn and think that nothing can replace bitcoin.

But I think it won't happen soon because fiat has dominated for thousands of years and until now, bitcoin was invented to help us get rid of dependence on fiat.  so to have a better product than bitcoin, it takes a lot of time, it will not happen in the near future.

The advantage of bitcoin over alternative crypto currencies is that it is highly decentralized. Let's take any other crypto currency. They all have commands and so on. After some time, the team disintegrates, someone leaves the team, and the project begins to have problems. They just create a project to sell their coins/tokens and earn money. More than 90% of projects are just a money-sucking scam. They show only one cycle of price growth. They know when a new growth cycle begins, they close their project and sell off their coins/tokens at the heights. For the next growth cycle, the project no longer shows strong growth. New projects are just coming out that repeat the same story. This is a load cycle. We have to fight with this somehow

THere is no second BTC, or something better than BTC. There are a lot of different projects, a lot of them are scams or just shitcoins, but there are also some good ones. But none of them provides as much freedom as BTC gives to you.

I looked for traces of Satoshi on the Internet. I've read all of his posts since 2009. He is sublime. If you read his writing, you can feel his passion. I have a little bit of bitcoin. I'm pretty relieved just to have Bitcoin. But if you look back at history.. Yahoo lost to Google. Yahoo was great, but Google was even better. Satoshi gave us a gift called Bitcoin without any greed and went somewhere. The problem is, new geniuses are born all the time, and technology advances. Bitcoin is not physics. It's blockchain technology. Which means that bitcoin is not an immutable law. A better technology than Bitcoin could emerge. What should we do if someone gives us a better system than bitcoin as a gift and leaves? It performs better than Bitcoin, and it even has the perfect decentralization of Bitcoin, which we value highly. Bitcoin was created in 2009, and now it's 2023. Cars made in 2009 cannot be better than cars made in 2023 or later. What if someone with as much genius and passion as Satoshi is creating a system better than Bitcoin?
If it is a different projects entirely that is been created by that new genius, then it's likely to overthrown Bitcoin, but in as much as that new project to be created is still crypto, I strongly doubt if there will ever be any cryptocurrency more advance and more useful than Bitcoin itself, because as long as the word "cryptocurrency" Bitcoin remains the number one decentralized digital currency in the entire universe. So henceforth, the earlier we understand that there can never be any cryptocurrency more popular and useful than Bitcoin, and start investing in it now as an asset for our tomorrow, the more better for us.

Bitcoin remains an invincible digital currency and continues to use the PoW network ecosystem and will never change, because it will maintain Bitcoin's decentralization.
Unlike other Altcoins that change from PoW to PoS networks.

To be able to compete with Bitcoin, developers must be able to create a new ecosystem that has never existed and not take advantage of what Bitcoin already has.

We live in a competitive internet age, where almost anything is possible, technological innovations are happening everyday. Individuals and firms are outdoing each other to give better versions of their innovations, so we'll just wait and see whether any any cryptocoin can take over from bitcoin, although I won't worry myself about that now.
Yes, your point is also correct that you said that we are living in the competitive internet age, in which almost everything is possible, but I have a question: do you have any evidence to confirm that any coin can take over Bitcoin or be more valuable than Bitcoin? So far, we have not seen any other coin that has the potential to take over Bitcoin. It is clear that each coin has its own merits and use cases, but it will not be appropriate to compare these coins to Bitcoin or consider them more valuable than Bitcoin because these coins lack the qualities that Bitcoin has, such as being immutable, high value, high volume, etc. So far, no coin has done this like Bitcoin has.

So I mean that bitcoin is the supreme of the cryptocurrency world and no one has the competency to bow it down.

For now bitcoin is the king of all cryptos, but we don't know about tomorrow, because before the emergence of bitcoin, i believe that we only had fiat as the only means of currency payments, and for currency trading purposes we have the forex market, that is also fiat. Then bitcoin came and changed the narrative, by introducing digital currency that is decentralized.

If there is a system that is more than Bitcoin, I am pretty sure that in less than 24 hours it will be reported immediately on any broadcasting news company or any social media platform. But we haven't heard anything like that, right? It means that nothing is better than what Satoshi thought about Bitcoin, which has been known for 14 years now.

Many have imitated the style of Bitcoin's system, but they still haven't really imitated the concept and features that Bitcoin has until now. Why? That is because of the pure decentralization that it has, which is why it cannot be controlled by anyone powerful in the whole world unless you have it because only you have the authority to handle it because you have the seed, private key, and password.
