Where did the internet start? Well it was a US military network called :
The Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) was an early packet switching network and the first network to implement the protocol suite TCP/IP. Both technologies became the technical foundation of the Internet.

In the 1980s, ARPANET was handed over to a separate new military network, the Defense Data Network, and NSFNet, a network of scientific and academic computers funded by the National Science Foundation.

It is not impossible for Bitcoin to have been started by a group of people working within the Crypto currency community and also with the US military or another nation or a collection of them. ^hmf^

as long as they can increase the adoption of it and its price, i'm fine with everything

the final target is the success of bitcoin nothing else

haha i must say that i like your point of view, you are in truth, i must admit it, if finally this help to our lovely bitcoin to grow up, then it should be welcome Smiley

what if i told you CIA HQ does send bitcoin to addresses owned by agents around the world who then exchange funds into native FIAT in the country they are spying in..
but what if i told you for security reasons CIA wont admit this as the targets do not need to know how the spies are paid, to avoid the spies from being recognized.

I would not surprise me if it's happening now

same here. as long as we are getting forward and making profits due to a higher price, then i have nothing against the government taking bitcoin to the next level.

I absolutely agree! And the usage of Bitcoin by the Government might even have more advantages: as they say the language you speak has a major impact on how you interpret and define the world, so maybe the same thing's happening with the currency you use?
Hopefully BTC will change them in a good way.

Sure, why not? Bitcoins are very useful for criminals too. (I'm implying that the government is a criminal organization Wink)

Bitcoin is real money.

Gov Money is DEBT in bank.

Bank don't buy Bbitcoins because they can justify it in the year account (stock and bonds).

Grin trap is a trap ... people can use bitcoin.
bank can't ...

Idk if the government and, let's just say, the CIA would use Bitcoin though to use for issuing payments because of the pseudonymity Bitcoin possesses... I would think they would try to use a cryptonote platform, or simply have created their own private cryptocurrency that they only use with other shady businesses.. I would think that's a more likely thing to happen than them using Bitcoin.

I would say most definitely,
that many black operations and non-government approved programs are being financed by and through crypto-currencies.
For the intelligence communities of the world not to use it for those purposes, would be shocking.

what will be the difference between pay them with bitcoin vs fiat or gold or....

the problem is not the currency with they are paid, the problem is the act for what they will be paid, and this will be independent from the currency with they are paid. people should start to notice that difference, and stop all those confused news about bitcoin in the last months trying to show people how bad bitcoin is by relation it with crime etc etc...

They can but I don't think they do. There are other ways for them to pay for their spies, one of such ways is they do control the banks and can wire under different aliases to different parts of the worlds. The spies usually use credit cards which are issued in different names with no limits and they can be used in worldwide atms for when they need cash in hand. (How do I know this..? Well, I can tell you, but.. Wink)

I don't think they'd use Bitcoin to pay for spies and then spies would have to find a trader and convert them to fiat for them to use it, it's way too much work for them and can reveal their identites.

Move On !!!!!!
This wouldn't be anything unusual and extraordinary. It has happened already many times. You remember how US government cooperated with the terrorists during the 80's, the same terrorists that were responsible for the 9/11.

As people have already said above, Bitcoin is free, decentralized and available to everybody, how the people are gonna use it it's their thing. Both, good and bad people.

They are making some profit from selling off seized coins, it wouldn't surprise me if they were already doing something like this.  There will no doubt be some conspiracy fans that believe that the government is behind Bitcoin and Satoahi is government.

I am not sure what your point is. The consequence would be the same as if drug dealers liked bitcoin because they received bitcoin from their sales from Silk Road.

Just like cash, there are nefarious uses for bitcoin
