Fair can have two meanings, one being justice and the other equal. An equal society is exactly what is sounds like when everyone is equal in everything from rights to money to clothes. A just society is one where everyone gets what they deserve. If you work hard you get money. If you have good habits you will be healthy.

To me an equal society kinds of sounds like socialism but I think that I would prefer to live in a society where everyone is equal. I think however that we live in a more just society than a fair one. So many people are not equal but just as many do not get what they deserve.

What do you think? Do we live in a fair society? Is it more just, equal or something else entirely?

Thanks for the thoughts!

Beside the things you said, I would add security and stability. Every government should protect their people from roberies, womens from rapes. There is no government in world today that can protect people from those things. We have example of North Korea. They don't know what is robery, fight on the street, rapes and such things. But they are poor. We still have to build perfect society, it is on us, but I think we won't get it. Maybe next generations.

For me, a fair society is consists of equality in every aspect of life. Fair and justice in every corner of the society regardless of age, financial state and so on. Fair education and jib for everyone. Fair treatment and hospitalization. Everything must be equal for everyone.

Obviously, society is not fair. If society is fair, there will be a lot of cold wars inside a country. There will be no poor and there will be no rich people, they do not know that word because all of the people are the same. There will be no maids, there will be no drivers, there will be no workers since they have a comfortable life like the others and they do not want to work anymore because they will be looked down by the others.

A fair society is when everyone accepts, treats and respects everyone's difference. If there's no hatred and jealousy among people (which is impossible) make the society fair.

For me,  a fair society is where justice is served to all people without boundaries.

You are completely right . Justice must be for everyone in a fair society. Rich or some elite people must get a fair punishment when they commit crimes. But Today's world there is no equal justice. This is very saddening.

In my opinion a fair society is a state in which all societies have equal treatment not by divergence from religion, tribe, nation and class, set by existing regulation. In order to create a fair society the regulation should not be broken and there must be tolerance from the community to respect others right.

To me fair society, is the society that have regards for justice and equality for all her citizenry, society that respect human dignity, and measure equal justice to all, not others way round.  fair society is society  that is free from all form of corruption.
A fair society should be no discrimination at all and no ene is above the law. That all men should be equal in everything. We should work together to a fair society in which everyone is treated equally with full respect and recognizing that we are all God's children,A society in which no ene can left behind and asociety in which every person is treated with dignity they are entitiled..

Firstly, we need to understand that no two human beings are equal - no two people are the same in their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual parameters that define a human being.

Having said that, every human being is intrinsically born with the faculties of free will & action - i.e. the sovereignty to think and act as he/she wishes. This sovereignty is common to all and no persons sovereignty must supersede another's. i.e. The human individual is sovereign, and the sovereignty of all Individuals are equal.

A "fair" society is one that recognizes and upholds these two truths in all its systems and institutions of society, economy and governance. Unfortunately, such a society does not exist today.

But this "fair" society is precisely what we are working on.

Such a "fair" society would enable and empower every individual to be the best that they can be. It will naturally attenuate the inherent greed, hatred and delusion that today's societies seem to amplify and build on the good in people. Building such a society has the potential to end wars and eliminate poverty and make the world a much better place. Please check us out and join the effort - Noble Nation.

I don't think there is a so called fair society in the world most specially in our present time where in the growth of bullying is extremely high, the bias treatment of the government towards its own territory, the inequality for gender, and the poor is humiliated. All of it is existing in this world and it seems that there is no way to change it because also the government is the one who has the great contribution to this.

Fair society means equality in society.  The most obvious problem with equality, for instance, is that people are naturally unequal. They have different heights, different personality traits, and have varying likes and dislikes.

There should be no discrimination on basis of caste, financial status, education etc.

As long as someone desires to acquire power, a fair society is long beyond our reach and will only exist as an idea or something you may dream of.
As for you sir, you just want the idea but when it realizes, you'd want another idea.
After all, we all want what we don't have.

There is nothing fair in this society. People do what they want to do. No restriction just to satisfy their needs. It was hard though to find fairness anywhere.
