Airdrops are basically free coins in exchange for a little work like join their telegram channel, retweet this with your twitter account, or like this page on facebook. But be wary for most of the airdrops out there are scams. Never give your private key if asked when participating in airdrops that is most likely a scam to begin with. I recommend you join bounty campaigns for much better rewards.

Sounds really easy and good, but not all AirDrops are worth it. You will receive just about 50% from all airdrops and I believe only about 20% of all received coins will get you some profit in near future.

But, if you got a lot of time, you can start with them.

They have their own rules on how to earn it. Pick one out of those long list of ICO and you will see.
Some do need for you to sign up at telegram and join their group. That way investors will think there are a lot of people in their group.
Others do need for you to send a little amount of ETH just to prove your existence or you wont be duplicating anything.
One type of airdrop also is when you have the token of the ICO finished company.
Example is PundiX.
They give 7.316% (something like that) to how much token you are holding.
Snapshots will be done before the end of the month and airdrops will be given a week before it is completed. They do this monthly until the end of the year. Then next year the percentage will be lower.
A good way to attract more investor.

It is a give away token or an incentive for holding a coin. You can get it free by just doing simple tasks such as: sharing ICO/project information in social media or subscribing in their channel. Some airdrops are profitable since some of it are already listed. However, most of them are just trash or if you can wait it can have value in the future.

I think airdrop is not free, because you will get reward after you do a job such follow and stay on their telegram, follow their twitter and give a retweet and like to their tweet instead of yourself tweet. But i do not recommend this one that good to be joined as your source to get into crypto with easy way. Airdrop sometime do not pay for their airdrop because they are scam. Do another job like join bounty campaign that will be more profitable for you.

It is a free give away and advertising method for the any ICO project. Hope we will do all fine while enrolling ourself with the good airdrop. If you doubt that it will not work means kindly ignore those airdrops before you sharing your KYC details.
If you want to make money out and that is your thought means you should leave that first and start invest on your time for bounty campaigns.

but beware nowadays most of airdrops are scam! never give your private key for anytime.

If you have some extra time to spend, you can join into some bounty campaigns and make more profit.

An airdrop is giving away some coins/tokens for free to advertise the project. Usually airdrop gives ~5-10$ and requires to join telegram channel, twitter follow, FB like and so on. Just be careful to scammers that offers to send you a lot of coins in return of ETH.
