The site honestly looks horrible and is ugly as shit. You are forced to transfer $3500 through it to use it, not to use it for free, as they say.

Hi, I'm the owner of BitPlastic. I'm sorry you don't like our design, but it ranks very well in the search engines, which is why we used a custom design rather than a template like CoinBase.  I do understand the CoinBase design looks 'cleaner', although many people like our design too.

In any case, just google 'bitcoin debit card', and you'll see we're number one in google.  We are more interested in high rankings than a flashy template design.

As for money, I own 50+ other bitcoin sites, so I don't see how you can claim our web design suggests low funding. For example, sites on our network include:
https://BitLaunder.com
https://BitArmored.com
https://CoinChimp.com
https://TheBitcoinEscrow.com
https://BitFiverr.com
https://BitSweeps.com
https://BitBing.com
https://BitListing.com
https://PaidBitcoin.com
https://BitMeetup.com
... and many, many more

Obviously with this large of a network we are not lacking for VC funding.

Site design is a big factor for me. A terribly designed website will make me think no money to hire a good website designer. https://coinbase.com/ has a sick website, which they probably paid lots of money for, and it looks awesome.

I've just discovered a similar service with lower fees:

http://www.bitcobitcard.com/

But I've no idea if it's a legit service or not: does someone have some experience for it?

If the site design and english is any sign of legitimacy.....

Here is what you get when you submit a "Contact Us" message

"Your information has been submitted in response i will send a maximum of 24 hours"

They'd be better off doing it in their native language and letting Google Translate it.

That site looks so 1995. I dont trust based on UI and everything its presenting.

No doubt it isn't pleasant looking. However, Lack of design doesn't always mean less trust, only insecurities within the visitor.

The fact it works, wins me over, whatever process it goes through
As long as it works and its not hurting anyone.

We're reading these blogs because were interested in this
topic, we want to find something we can believe in.
My opinion is the truth in regard to my experience,

None of these webpages that offer bitcoin debit cards are banks
but offer a solution, which is Turning bitcoins into cash that can be used in everyday life.

I committed and its great. I needed that solution and Bitplastic have delivered
and have done it cheaper than anyone else Ive tried. Compared to bitcoins biggest
"Bitcoin Trading Platforms" Mt Gox, in 2 transactions youll save more than the card costs in fees
to withdraw your money to a bank account from Mt Gox (Based off $1000). I explain on my experience blog

http://tkdcentral.com/archives/bitplastic-bitcoin-debit-card-www-bitplastic-com-revolutionary-or-ripoff-our-experience-so-far/

Ive crucified Raxcard, The page I exposed them on ranks higher than their own sell page
but people needed to know theyre scammers, I lost money and with over 40 hits a day,
hopefully no-one is buying.

If bitplastic do the same, they'll get the same. I work hard for my money too.

For someone who is mining bitcoins, the Bitplastic Debit Card is a great solution
to enable you to spend up to $1000 (USD) via Visa in stores etc or withdraw $200 at an ATM.

Anyone who is unsure, just keep your bitcoins where you want and just load
the card when you need it, or when you need that extra cash at a certain time.
Thats what Im doing. Hey its free to join.

Its Free To Join, It Works & Now Ive Committed, I Can Spend My Bitcoins.
Im Happy  Smiley

Exactly, this is why I can't trust it. I think what it is is that they buy prepaid debit cards, where they can top them up remotely from the internet, so bitplastic handles the conversion from BTC to USD, then they just remotely load it onto the card. Does anyone else think the same way?

If the price went to 0.05 BTC I would buy it instantly no questions asked. 200$ is just too much. Maybe you could lower the initial price, but charge a bit higher on the fees. This would get way more people to get the cards, and you could make much more off of the fees.

I have to agree with you williamj2543,

I think 0.05 is a better price also (Around $50 value in BTC),
Its realistic, Its reachable to the general public, and they'll sell thousands at that price

At 0.05 BTC they could gain so many customers before. Coinkite or others complete their Debit cards.
Too think how many transactions could be turning over If they lock customers in before the others do.

I think it would certainly be worth it for them, they already are generating alot of interest

Hey,
0.16 is still pretty bad, but its a step in the right direction. For the average person 0.05 will probably the max they would pay. For me, I would probably pay 0.07 or something like that. 150$ for a prepaid debit card where you load more money on it, plus the fees is pretty steep.

The owner of Bitplastic has slightly reduced the price
of their debit cards on a different bitcointalk blog on Bitplastic

For BitcoinTalk users I created a discount :-)

You can get 0.04btc off the cost of the card by entering coupon code 'bitcointalk' when you request the debit card.

Hope that helps ..

https://BitPlastic.com

It bring the price back to 0.16 BTC, still pricey for a card, but I havent come across a better option yet
(And Im open to any recommendations)

I think overtime the price will have to come down, especially with competition.
If they dont, someone else may get their potential customers with a lower price card

I have kept a small diary on the whole process of
buying a Bitplastic Bitcoin Debit Card as I did with the "Raxcard Ripoff"
from purchase of the card to withdrawing money out of the card

I just went to the store and tried the "Visa" out today
Click here for the full diary and to find if it works

Enjoy and hope it answers your questions

Is there anyone (a trusted one, possibly) that can show the card and that the system works?
I dont think so mastercard and visa very care their promo ways once they find out you use their logo they can push legal force. This site as said amateur or early state and be careful about it...
