@Just Developer
Of course..
NOOB's need to think of it this way..

Profit comes from other peoples money loss.
And since you need a lot of money to be the winner that translates into an equation of sorts.
There will always be far more losers than winners.

These coins work like a pyramid scheme of sorts.
They require you all to keep showing up and buying non stop.
When that stops the price levels off.. then people start dumping.
Few bag hold long term.
And once momentum shifts that is it.. the slide down gets steeper and steeper.

I thought this stuff was rather blatant & obvious.

Since the dawn of man money has worked one way..
10 guys walk into a room with a $100 each and 9 of them walk out with far less money.
The 1 guy is the man with profit obviously.
See what i mean ?

So Just Developer.. MOST WILL LOSE it's basic math & common sense.
It depends on trading skills, luck and knowing when to cash out and run.
Since you are all here reading this you clearly are "Still playing" the game.
And you may think well i am good at trading and lucky.. problem is..
The game is rigged.
No matter what the exchanges and coin dev's etc can simply change the rules they play so they ALWAYS win !
And they do too !
I could rattle of infinite examples of them all doing it too.

You all are playing a scammy pyramid coin game for ROI's in an unregulated yet govt compliant rigged scammy scene.

A coin "pumper" i think can be perceived as a whale who has money to buy more coins than the average users.
Coins get bought all the time but "the pump" is considered when all of a sudden there is a massive increase in coin purchases.
And "the dump" is when the same whale decides to bail out of his coins he just bought..
His profit will be the money that was injected into the coin market after he started his pump.
The profit sits in the difference he bought at vs the other users joining in and buying.
See what i mean ?

You all are talking about altcoins pump&dump, and while it is the most apparent and easy to notice, it is also foolish to think that Bitcoin is not susceptible to pumps and dumps.
Despite much higher market capitalization there are whales who can single single-handedly crash price of BTC.
You don't want to see pumps and dumps? Then we need higher market capitalization and diversification in coins distribution.

You need to be very careful when investing in Altcoins. If you do not pay attention, you may lose your BTC.
I am following these steps while investing in Altcoin.
  • First I choose a coin with a high volume.
  • Then I look at the daily and weekly price values for this coin.
  • I buy the price when it falls below the average.
  • I sell when the price is higher than the purchase price.

I have increasing my earnings without spending too much time like this. If you want to do technical analysis, you have to take time to do this.

Pump and dump s basically what we have seen over the last week with DASH. It's a scam shitcoin ponzi and best avoided.

I can't believe this lying fraud made Legendary here with 812 activity and i had to wait until 1100  Roll Eyes

This guy is ALWAYS full of shit.

Ethereum the coin he advertises here was the biggest pump & dump in crypto history but he pretends like nothing happened.
His job here has been to spam on about ETH and lie his ass off to sucker people in.

And Pump & Dump ? REALLY wanna know ?

Pump = buy.
Dump = sell.

Think about it Wink

hi im a newbie here and I've heard that big alt coins like ethereal dash are "pump and dump" what does this mean? are they gonna crash soon? should i invest into them? or is it too late? what do you guys think of other alts like monero or ether classic... should we invest into the cheap alt coins?
PUMP: Usually done with the intention to raise the price of a coin. They buy a coin with a large amount, then automatically the price will increase, if the price has gone up by desired, then they will sell all the coin they have.
DUMP: You could say the opposite of PUMP. With the same purpose benefit of course, they will sell the majority of coin coin to lower the price, if it matches the price they want then they will buy a coin on a large scale at a relatively cheaper.

The definition of pump and dump had been answered above me, you must understand that investing on altcoins are like dashcoin, monero and ethereum is high risk losing money, if you want make investments into ethereum classic I agree with you because actually ethereum classic is original ethereum.

Buy lots of coin at 5 satoshis a coin.
Convince lots and lots of people to buy it, usually with tall tales about how it will make them rich (pump).
All that purchasing drives up the price of the coin. Sell your coins when it gets to 50 satoshis per coin (dump).

Pump'n'dump that weird name, that sounds like some fashionable musical rhythm in the clubs of life is actually one of the most well-known and bored investments scams that exist.
Usually it is applied using low liquidity coins and with very low price, preferably quoted in cents. Coins quoted in cents are much more risk because small price changes represent large percentage changes.
When people start buying stocks (and, believe me, they buy!), The price goes up (after all, in a low-liquidity stock, it's enough for some unsuspecting to buy a few stocks that have already seen a respectable price swing), and this Attracts even more people who perceive an abnormal movement in that action.

I swear in the last while the off-topic spam-tard's account farming moved into ALT main.
Last couple weeks i have seen a massive increase in super stupid questions..
ALL by brand new accounts then answered swiftly by other brand new accounts.

that may be but also some people are way too lazy to use a quick and simple google search to find some basic stuff.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_and_dump

p.s. i loved this photo:

it is from 1720 and is someone who is selling stocks in the streets during a bubble because of pump and dump!

talk about the oldest trick in the book eh!

Anything and everything revolves around PUMP and DUMP if something is the only available item in the market and no other competition/alternatives is offered with equal or better quality and offers a lower price it will be more easier to manipulate the market by pump and dump.

Also you should learn at least P&D in school dude.

We're a few days away from people talking about bank loans and then we really know the end is near.

The only people who get rich with anything are the ones who buy when everyone else is screaming about selling. They're the ones who will dump on you after buying them off you a few months ago when you couldn't take it any more.

hi im a newbie here and I've heard that big alt coins like ethereal dash are "pump and dump" what does this mean?
As mentioned above , Pump = Price increase, Dump = Price decrease, its something like a price manipulation effect which causes by community between traders, whales, FUD and etc.

are they gonna crash soon? should i invest into them? or is it too late?
Well, no one can answer it as few days ago i thought the Dash pump hype (Price increase is capped at $45 as the price depreciate as someone try to pull the price down) Yet look at the price today. https://coinmarketcap.com/ Its $90. Is it too late to invest? Well its kinda hard to say but the hype should stop soon and perhaps $90 might be the peak of it.

what do you guys think of other alts like monero or ether classic... should we invest into the cheap alt coins?
Still, it depends on your preferences. If you like a stable investment, Dash, ETH, monero, ETC, Zclassic, NAV, and tons and tons of other coin. (Coins i mean are the good on in the top 100 in coinmarketcap.com. If you would go for big and hungry earning coins like how pascal did which raised almost 3000% or 30000% (Forgotten), but analysing it is important

Good luck!

It's clear as the name,it's some kind of price manipulation,a group or big whales are doing this kind of trading activity, they made it appear that people are buying this coin for a reason, when the fact it is manipulated the coin is dead or no development at all, then you suddenly saw a huge buy completed with no reason at all ..

Pump = Increasing the price of coin
Dump = Decreasing the price of coin.

I like monero but not for the ether classic.

If you're complete newbie and just read more on the beginner section or trading section.

Pump and dump means that someone (or a group) edges the price up and up then sells causing the price to crash (they profit).

Monero is the only altcoin I have long term trust in. Ethereum classic is a gamble.
