Finshaggy, WHY do you think attempts of socialism always turn into communism then?

I think it's because the situation tends to get so absurd for the people who are now expected to work hard without reaping any benefits, that the only way to keep a system like that going is the force of violence. Thus a totalitarian regime (ala North korea) is necessary.

I'm not saying that Traditional socialism is perfect, or anything to defend it. I am simply letting everyone know that when they say "Socialism", usually they mean "Communism".

FinShaggy. What is the significance of your Indus Valley seal?

My two main gods are Shiva and Pan. Which can be traced back to Pashupati, which is who is on the seal.

Pan Because:
I believe you must embrace the best and worst things about yourself to live a complete life.
I also believe that humanity did not kill the wilderness, it is waiting patiently.

Shiva Because:
I have always felt like a father ever since I helped raise my two brothers that are 10 and 11 years younger than me
I smoke a lot of weed
I believe that sometimes things need to be destroyed in order for new things to be created. (that is how Shiva/weed works. Burn/Destroy the plant to create a communication between you an the molecules within the plant)
I feel a connection to animals

There's A LOT more to it than this, but that sums it up quickly.

I would argue that communism hasn't either survived yet or existed for considerable time...

They have all ended up in totalitarian regime...

Definitely possible. I don't remember the last time there was a revolution that was actually to be said to be led by the blue collar/working class. Occupy was almost it, but that was really just a lobbyist agency called "Working America". They paid people 11$ an hour to stand around and go door to door with clipboards, then eventually people that weren't getting paid started showing up. lol.

Now,
I do not align with any socialist parties, I just want to make something clear because it seems people forgot what Socialism is...

Socialism:
A society where EVERYONE is equal, EVERYTHING is shared an EVERYONE is given the same items, wealth and advantages at birth.

Communism:
This is what ACTUALLY happens whenever anyone tries to bring Socialism into the world. 1 group takes charge and makes everyone else "equal" in poverty, while they shit in gold toilets and wage war on the capitalists.

All the "Socialist" governments you are thinking of when you think of Socialists, are actually COMMUNIST governments. There has never been a true Socialist government nation to exist on the face of this planet (as far as western history tells us).

Socialism is not a bad idea on paper, it just always turn into something bad when you actually try to apply it... Because someone always has to try to be the alpha dog.
