For established coins, I'd go with NEM and NEO, for newer ones, BAT and TRON are promising. GLA and WPR seems good project wise and for running ICOs, I believe in the ones that have already completed the work for their product.

Most ICO's use the ethereum platform so using the ERC-20 is tantamount to ethereum.
for altcoin with good features, this only takes from the opinion of some traders that I know. altcoin: xlm, nxt, doge.
To be sure, do not invest on one coin, and do not all in one coin.

These ICO's will never stop or if that day comes that most people are sick of ICOs that are just the same with what they do to collect money, then it will stopped.

Scam ICO's are there but not all of them but generalization of ICOs are becoming the same.

I think Beaxy (link in my signature) is an ICO with great potential. It's an exchange and exchanges are often successfull (Binance and Kucoin in top 100). Moreover, it offers many functions like stacking, referal, fiat deposit etc.... I hope that it will succeed in generating a significant volume !
