Technically wise, I would say Bitcoin. Without Bitcoin as a base and start, none of the other altcoins might even exist. Apart from that, I would say "best" is very subjective in everybody perspective. I like the idea of Nimiq possibly disrupting the currency coin industry (despite that there's a lot of bad hearsay going around that the developers are using the money for their own luxury needs instead). I like the idea of Sia possibly disrupting Amazon, Google, dropbox. I like the idea of ETH, Monero, etc.
There may still be the best coins available today, and Ethereal is an alternative choice for me.
Although eth prices are currently declining but I believe in the development and popularity of eth, and maybe before the end of this year eth prices will increase again and can compete with other altcoins in the crypto market.

If you had to ask me I would say the best upcoming ICO is Prophereum.io. They are a business backed coin and are expecting rapid coin appreciation. The proceeds from their ICO will be used to purchase A-grade property worldwide. This property will will generate a rental income and underlying value for the PTC token holder. This means the coin will always increase in value!
This might sound crazy, but right now the best coin in my opinion is Bitcoin Cash (BCH). I feel that the current exchange rates are heavily under-priced and it may move up very sharply in the near future. And I am quite skeptical about the prospects of other alts such as Ethereum and Ripple. They have started their slide towards oblivion.
I strongly believe that Bitcoin is the best coin now. But, it just suitable for long-term investment. Within short-term, you should choose altcoins or tokens from ICOs. 
Bitcoin definitely is one of the best coin at all time. It has shown that the value will constantly rise in the long run and there is strong support from the community and outside the community. Even fiat to crypto exchanges will definitely use bitcoin as one of the pair exchange.

Except that very, very few online accept it as a form of payment with even fewer brick and mortar businesses that do. It's uselessness will be its downfall.

According to me the best coins are Qtum,omg,NEO, status, electroneum.
It is true these coins are also there but for me the best ever coin is the bitcoin and the value of the bitcoin is much high as compare to the other currency and the coin. People are investing in the bitcoin and the value of the bitcoin will be high if we will buy the bitcoin and will invest in it, I have the coin and I am having the value of it will be better than this. 
In my opinion, Ethereum is the best coin. And ı believe eth always be the one. Except this, waves can be good in the future we will see.

Bitcoin is the best obviously but I believe litecoin to be a close second and waves to be the new and up coming coin.
Every one has its own choice of best coin, but my first choice is king of this market Bitcoin because it gives maximum rewards till date and making new highs. Another one is Ethereum which is the 2nd biggest coin of this market.
