bitcoin, ethereum is a great coin for purchase, but if you want to find a coin from the ico project try decent I guess in some near this price will rise dramatically
Bitcoin is the best one to buy. Its still not too late. You can buy fractions of it and store them for a long term to make more some good profit. Buy as much as you can afford. 
For alt coins you can try ETC, LTC or Monero. Before investing on other coins make sure you know about them and try to avoid scam coins which are there just for pumping and dumping.

Besides the bitcoin the second best option is ETH. New coins are appearing each day tending to take leading place but just few of them have acctual potential and ETH is one of the best. Maybe monero isn't that bad option too, seems that it could have significant rise in the future and it's popular on dark markets.

and I am not going to tell you what you should do, I can share with you here my plans.

I would suggest Byteball. The next airdrop is scheduled at 4 days from now, and the quotas have been reduced. So there will not be any major dump this time. Blackbytes also look promising, especially after the steep rise of Monero recently.
ETH because the ICOs are here to stay!
I also thinks that ETH is best option for the investment , but here we need to stay with our investment for long run investment and also we need to make investment in another coins also because to get investment with another coins also a better opportunity for us to start perfectly with trading .Here my opinion and analysis is saying that we should trade with atc , bch , bcc , dash , ripple , ltc , doge , siacoin , reddcoin , creva , posw etc .
These are those coins which have daily fluctuations of the 3-4% -+ , so easy to make better profit with these coins .
Here i listed multiple coins because the main reason is of the lowering the risk of trading loss because sometimes we bought a single coin in bulk and that particular coin goes much down , so we needed for long time for that coin to rise and recover loss and get profit .
ETH because the ICOs are here to stay!
Well it has been said : ETH , and for good reasons... others are NEO, PPT, VERI, ADX, FUN, 0x ...

for me im holding bitcoin right now I believe that bitcoin is above 5000usd price. all my altcoin that I did not lose then i hold for a longterm my bitcoin i want to hold my bitcoin for my future son .... but if you hold ethereum this is the best for me even i hold in my ethereum wallet is only .5 eth i want to hold for a long time ...
Bitcoin is holding gives the profit is global truth but if you look into invest most movable digital coin in the sense the coin market capital site check the market capital value for concern coin hence you can choose and invest on it accordingly.

For me the best coin to buy is bitcoin and hold it for a long time until the price goes up to the moon. Other way is to buy some other coins that has potential to rise up the price in the future. Try to read and learn its coins before you hold it. I hope this would help.

There isn’t actually any best to buy right now, the only thing you should do is just to do personal research by yourself and find out the one that has the best suits u. there are a lot of coins out there to cash in that are profitable

Well, if it's about trading, nowadays so many coin prices are down from its ico price, so there are so many coins that still have the potential to go up. in fact, there are still many coins that are below the ico price when first launched. You just have to choose it.
Read about CVC and if you are convinced that it has the potential and a good team, buy it.

Another thing is, It also depends on your capital but as a beginner just start trading with altcoins because the price is cheaper.
