Bitcoin is a very good coin for investing, followed by Ethereum. These are the two most likely to increase in the future. If you intend to invest, choose a good time to buy and hold in the long run
If you want to invest in crypto, I think you should invest in BTC, ETH or NEO. But now ETH and NEO are low, you should invest at this time. If you have enough money, invest in BTC. Because BTC is profitable for you.
I think you should create your portfolio main part from Bitcoin and 2 altcoins from top 50 (may be EOS and IOTA). And also I think you should invest 30-40% of your portfolio (it is risky) in other small altcoins with big potential, may be something like ADX, EMC2, VIBE... But what to choose is up to you.

I feel that now every one of the coins will indicate development. Those coins that don't have an extensive capitalization have more potential against this foundation. I agree with the idea that we are not to do investments if we don't know anything about it. It is not good to receive any amount of money when you don't even know how everything works. If you do understand how things work then maybe you won't fall against any scam. I don't mean to say cryptocurrency as scams but there are a lot of people who are into it. Ethereum and Bitcoin are best for investment and recommended for long term with great profit while Litecoin and few other are best for short term with less profit. Investing in mainstream coins is always right. We see that LTC, DOGE, RIPPLE coins are stronger after many years. We may not be able to invest in several Unicorn projects in the future, but we can make good profits by maintaining long-term investment in the mainstream coins.
If you don't want to do any research and you want to make money then buy the bitcoin at any dip, or some ethereum. But presently, market is blood red, so I'll suggest to stay away from the market for now at least.

As of now the best cryptocurrency to invest is ethereum , I am preferrable with ethereum because aside from being an investment, it can be use to buy tokens in the trading sites or any exchange that accept ethereum.
I think the crypto market is now on a downtrend. So it is difficult to invest in, but its great chance to invest if you want to get profit early. In my opinion this depends on short-term or long-term goals, if we aim for long-term investment then some of the coins that are worth buying are bitcoin, ethereum, Dash, Litecoin, Monero and so on, but if the short-term goals are looking for the coins that are being released in exchanges.
The market is bloody red, so during this time, you should not overly believe in the TOP COIN. But you should also take Bitcoin to balance the market. Because it is the decision for all the other coin.

Thanks for the advise, i guess people csn use this for the up and coming coins that survived their ICO phase. As mentioned by alot of comments here in this thread, we already have coins that are performing very well. People will say Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcash and anything and everything in between. But i guess we should keep an eye on the next big coin
For me the best currency to invest is bitcoin because it has a high value in price among of the other coins but there is some alt coins next to bitcoin that gives a good profit like etherium.

Buy the rumours, sell the facts somebody have said this phrase I love a lot, because there's describes my strategy which is not certain and not fit for every person around but it is profitable for me.
If you want to invest in cryptocurrency you should always take time to learn the system of bitcoin first because it is the main crpyptocurrency people used in transaction and investment on the market. And we also need to have a background on the blockchain system where we could know how we could deal with different form of transactions at once and make a living in investment on other crpytocurrency on trading.
in my opinion bitcoin still can be best cryptocurrenct to hold.although bitcoin price very volatile, but in several later we will gain much money from our investment in bitcoin.
As what we always read and told, its better to hold those top coins in coinmarketcap. All is volatile, yes its true but those in the top rank will not easily lost its value compares to others. Bitcoin,Ethereum,XRP Bitcoin Cash,EOS,Stellar,Litecoin,Cardano,IOTA and so forth.
