(I'm just going to copy paste this because i wrote it like a minute ago.)

Hi, the alt coin I'm investing in is going to be BitDegree and maybe qchain with bankera. BitDegree is the one i  will probably invest with most assurance because of their clear road map, vision/goals and the product reality.

Couple of simple but TRUE tips for a newbie to invest in an ICO is to answer these questions for yourself:

1. Do they have a good announcement thread/website/whitepaper? (when i say good, i mean close to 0 grammar mistakes and no bullshit talks only real vision/product ideas. One of the worst examples I've seen was edge coin with their planetary road map, the fk is that. Not only their numbers are lazy, as in length of completion step, the planetary philosophical allure attempt i just sad)

2. Is their token a security or utility? (securities are the usual bunch, look for utility tokens, like BitDegree)

3. Do they have an mvp (minimal viable product) made. (this is important because even with clear vision of product/service a working mvp is just something an ICO must have)

4. The team. I know sometimes you can feel lazy and not do this, but thoroughly investigate the CEO and other main team members. Many of the ICOs i've seen have ICO's whose first sentence in their website description is "finished a fcking school" are you serious? (i'm talking about be-one.co)

i can go on and on about ICOs, but i just don't want to make a long post about it. Ironically I'm lazy too.

To summarise:

Look for professionalism in an ICO. Check the 4 steps i've made first if you are lost. Sometimes i just don't like the face of the CEO and that gets me, but whatever.

Good luck ma dude

There are a lot of good ICOs, just go to the Bounties section and you'll find some there. But since you are still a newbie, it is better that you read A LOT first before joining campaigns in ICO because you might get confused. Take your time learning from elders here because they know better and may give you a lot of advices. I, myself, is still learning too.

Collectorcoin looks extremely promising and they launch ICO December 1st 2017.

I actually already invested because It is the First ICO I have ever seen that already had businesses ready to accept the coin.

They also aren't offering their token at $1-$2 (those ICOs leave a lot of potential for loss) I usually stay away from those.

Look for an ICO with a vision that you like and support. This always helps.

The one in which you won't participate. That's the only path to keep your money safe. "Nothing ventured nothing gained" If somebody will give you guidance and tell you how to invest and where you'll remain a newbie investor till the end of your days. However, should you be buying some coins and loosing money (at first) you'll learn the ropes quickly and will become a true professional in a blink of an eye.

Choose for yourself. Your first investment doesn't mean that you will certainly loose all your investments, however the odds aren't in your favor. That's why you have to learn not to trust anyone except for yourself

The best what you can do with your money now is to study crypto, economics and investment. It would bring much more than any investment in ICO as of now.

Check out Propthereum.io, an asset backed cryptocurrency on the blockchain who are expecting a 1566% coin appreciation. Proceeds raised from their ICO will be used t purchase A-grade property worldwide generating a rental income and underlying value for the PTC token holder. The great thing about this concept is that the coin will always increase in value.

Mark this wise word. There is like 100 ico/weeks nowadays, if you are a newbie it'll be hard to found the gem.

Best advice is don't invest in an ICO if you don't know what you're doing. I would say put your money in bitcoin and maybe a few top alts. Then follow the news and follow how the markets behave, maybe do a little trading (with small amounts) if you are interested in it.
And then after you've learned a lot, then maybe look at ICOs... so you go in knowing not just about that ICO but also about dump patterns and general market behaviour.

Whatever your decision may be, best thing to do is good research firstly, and once you feel more comfortable with any particular ICO, if it's a big project it will have good reputation.

It's just my opinion: don't invest in ico as a newbie unless you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve.

If your answer it's "quick profit" reconsider.
If you want to be an early adopter of a new technology... well makes more sense to me.

But it's my opinion of course :-)

There are many promising projects now. I'm going to give you a few names and you will study them and choose them: Gladius, Ripio, Crypterium and AION.

if you check out the newly launched ICOs, most of them are below the ICO price. time is different and even great project suffer right now. with that said, you can still invest in ICO but it will be a long term invest.

all those who are going to recommend projects are probably the owners of them, so be careful in there because it is obviously that they will try to make-up their story in order to make it look good.
be careful with all the ico's that you are going to see, because they are very risky at the moment, i would suggest you to stay away from them, but i can not.. it is upto you to invest in them or not.
But yes, if i have some funds, i would not invest in them, doesnt matter how good is the return of those.
