Yes I totally agree with you, these two coins will still exist and survive into two top coins in the Crypto-market capitalization. Although there are many new coins born with innovations and more sophisticated features, Bitcoin and Ethereum remain the king of the Crypto world. There are many coins at the market but only few will survive and keep the value and Bitcoin and Ethereum are definetely among them. This is good investment now and it will remain in the future.
Probably because most of the coins nowadays are being controlled by their creators, for that you can't completely trust it. Unlike Bitcoin where the community decides and supports it with the system already solid, most altcoins die because of lack of support from the developer and from the community. The reputation it built are trust worthy. Also, most coins are just a copy of Bitcoin hoping that it will moon someday.
Bitcoin is still the only decentralized coin, and I don’t think there is any other coin that is fully decentralized, even ethereum that has similar policy is not that decentralized.Most altcoins would never create such system because what they are actually after is the money, but if they had passion about the project like satoshi had, by now, altcoins ought to have been spoken better f than this, but what we have now are projects that wants to be controlled.
If they were even controlling it well, it would have been a better thing like binance is doing, binance run on a centralized platform, but the CEO is very active in making sure that the core reason why the project was created is really working for people to use and they don’t speak much on the investment on their coin, but the projects we see now only influence people through the promises of percentage increase.
Bitcoin is not the best coin in the space in terms of usage, but you can't blame people to still invest in bitcoin because they find it the best investment and that it has a great potential in the future. Not because it's not cheap and fast, it will be replace by a new one, this is different and we have to look at the other angle, bitcoin is not becoming more an investment than a payment system there area lot of good altcoins but bitcoin will remain in demand because bitcoin can easily be exchange with any altcoins in the market.

I think, for now, cryptocurrency will be a place to invest and make a profit but then when the technology grows better, we will see the other advantage from the coins that will help our life too. The power of the coin will grow too since there are still developing, and that is happening in many coins. We don't know which coins will vanish from the cryptocurrency list in the future because that will be a natural selection to choose the right coins to be able to survive in the crypto sphere. Yes, the old coins will be replaced by the better coins, especially if that coins can give better than the old coins. We will see it later and now, we could use the time to invest and make a profit.

It will be almost impossible for any coin to replace bitcoin and no matter how slow bitcoin transactions is it has established strong foundation in the mind of people that will keep it forever with us. The problem of the market is that people do not want coins and blockchains that can make 10k TPS per second, they know BTC, they know ETH and they do not need any other perspective tokens. Just look at the market, every second guy has BTC in their portfolios.
Cryptocurrencies are now mostly only drived by the speculators. And they don't care about the development of the technology and only want to get more profits. That's why you are going to still see bitcoin and the top coins to still be at the top. It can change, but it will need more time and it will need that the whales decide which coin is going to increase in price or not. And thoses new coins need to make a bigger effort in their marketing to make them more known to the public. The old ones don't have to make any effort, as everyone have already heard about them.

There are a lot of coins who are faster than bitcoin, coins with 1-minute blocks, but this doesn't- make them better, just think about blockchain, bitcoin after 10 years has a 200GB blockchain, if we have 1-minute blocks with bitcoin then the blockchain size would be 2TB... So faster blocks bring faster confirmations but a bigger blockchain.

Of course the old ones would be replaced as time goes by it is evolution we have seen it countless times before.The technology is advancing so does the other things it is part of it BTC and ETH would just be part of history in the future .

Higher transfer rates? What you mean? More transactions than Bitcoin? I doubt that, even if, they are bots putting random transaction to appear as busy coin. Higher transaction possible at any given moment? Maybe, but at what cost. Keep in mind many solutions work to a certain point, at heavy load everything changes, not scale, bottlenecks etc.
