So that means you are only playing on small odds? I don't like this because when I lose, I can also lose huge. Usually, I gamble on high odds using small amount of money/bets. Even if we don't gamble often, we can still win huge once our luck kicks in and we hit that huge multiplier we are always hunting on. If we gamble rarely, I think it's fine to use a slightly higher amount. You are not obligated though.

You can still stick on your regular routine if your goal is to reduced your gambling habit or to quit gambling soon because you are once an addict. The last thing that you said is true, but if I only want to have fun, I can do that better in casino games.
The important thing is that if I place a bet on sports betting, I can only place a betting amount that I can afford. Even though I am confident in my analysis, I still don't place a bet that is too high because I am always alert to the course of the match. Moreover, I'm also not very good at analyzing matches so by placing appropriate bets, even if I lose, I don't lose a lot of money. But if I win, the amount of money I get won't be too much.

I also don't chase winnings in betting on sports betting. But indeed casino games can provide fun because we play immediately and don't wait like in sports betting. Well, everything has to be adjusted to the capital we have so that we don't gamble excessively.

I don't think I've ever bet large amounts, even though the match was my favorite club.

The main reason I do sports betting is just to add to the sensation and excitement of watching a match. And on the other hand, I also quite enjoy doing match analysis to just hone my skills and instincts. I only bet the amount I am prepared to lose. Because I don't want the excitement I get when watching matches and betting to end in regret. Because I couldn't bear the defeat I experienced.

When placing bets, we must be prepared to lose, not ready to win. However, if you have more courage to bet a high amount, and are ready to bear the loss. That's fine. as long as before you start betting, you have carried out a thorough analysis. Because if it is done without prior analysis, it is not courage but recklessness.

bonus question: did that experience cause you to play more or less? and do you still bet?
Well the largest sports bet I have ever placed was boxing for $20. I won because I placed bets on every Naoya Inoue fights. 😁 That experience actually is not a cause why I play more, it is just that I trust the capability of the player. Of course, I will still place bets if I had the chance or has extra money, why not? 😁

That's an easy win bet. I remember this fight also gave me a big win. You know wouldn't really hit big if you just chose the high odds with a small amount to bet.
So you also picked Inoue by KO because the odds as far as I can remember were 2.10 which means that $20 turned $40+ after the fight.

It pays when you know the athlete that you can foresee what he might do to end the fight.  The harder the prediction the higher the odds, if some brave soul predicted Naoya will KO Futon in round 8, he'd be the real McCoy.

bonus question: did that experience cause you to play more or less? and do you still bet?
I'm not someone who belongs here probably because in all the time I've been playing especially in sportsbooks, I've never even played with more than $10 in each bet made but I tend to gamble a lot every week especially in soccer.
But regardless I think it's a good thing for me because at the end of the day it satisfies my desire to bet on matches that happen in several sports including soccer and e-sports because I also love games so I always try to bet even if it's not much but I'm comfortable with it.

As for how much you bet I think this also depends on your strength in financial stability and I don't want to burn a lot of money within a week or 2 weeks so with this I try to bet with a small amount but for a longer period because in the end what I am aiming for is also not about winning big at once but playing based on my mood when I lose a bet when the bet I created is not more than $10 then I am also not too burdened with it.

I don't have any large bets on sports because it's still gambling and I know why I need to only risk what I can afford to lose, either sports or roulette you need to risk what you can afford to lose, if the money you are risking first whenever you lose it them you shouldn't be gambling, you should be building ways to make more money until you get to a spot where gambling no longer hurts.

What kind of hurt can come to you when you are making thousands of dollars in a month and you are risking $100 or $300 every week on gambling? Also gambling money needs to come straight from your entertainment budget, not your savings or mortgage payment.

I use very low amount on gambling and I don't gamble more than two times in a week, and if good amount of money is made in that week I can gamble three times in that week, the amount is too small for me to remember the results but I do know that I lost most of the time.

I think it was $50, I know it's not that high but I'm not a high-roller either. So it was my highest sports bet and the result was disappointing, of course, and after that bet, I stopped betting live.

It was a cricket match from a franchise league, the teams playing were the top one and the team at the bottom. The team that was at the top was in great form, the players were playing extremely well in every single match and they were constantly winning throughout the tournament. And the opponent team had lost all their matches. So, it was pretty obvious which side to choose, but I still didn't do it before the match started.

When the match started, almost after the first half of the first inning, I placed my bet on the favorites, they were playing exceptionally well and there was no doubt they were going to win. The odds were small but I thought it was a guaranteed win, so that's enough. However, the match started turning after the second inning started, the favorites started choking and eventually lost the game.

I'm not betting on sports much but I do it regularly when my favorite league provide some nice matches in the weekend. I think my biggest bet was about $50 and it was a parlay bet contains of 5 matches with total odds more than 40x if I remember it correctly. It was a win bet but I did cash out earlier when 2 of the matches finished because I was afraid that I will lose on the 3 other matches. I did it correctly as I would have lost it on the 4th match if I did not do early cash out.
At the weekend there are always interesting matches, especially big teams will always have matches scheduled at the weekend and this is the right time if you want to have fun by betting some money on your favorite team.
But little advice when you choose a multi bet is to set a time that is really possible to watch and see the developments between each match so that what you are betting on doesn't fail.
I agree if you prefer to make cashout after you feel can get number of benefits because intend to take safe steps.
Moreover, in 5 matches when you get 2 wins, that can give you a small advantage that you really have.

did that experience cause you to play more or less? and do you still bet?

Any result of my gambling will not effect my next betting session because I always use fixed bet amount, what I usually do in sports betting is like: after a lose bet, I'll do the same bet amount but with bigger odds. After a winning bet, bet the same amount but with lower odds.
It great if you can have finance limits that are really fixed but I little confused by what you said about when a bet loses then take another bet with the same amount and bigger odds and when you win bet again with smaller odds.
How can this result in profits instead of losses?
When the odds are bigger, the chances of winning will be slimmer, but we also don't know what the final result will be, but almost 90% of large odds will only end in defeat.

bonus question: did that experience cause you to play more or less?

The largest sports bet have ever placed was $25. Sports betting is not my thing so I didn't place the bet all at once. I did them in sequence. I started with $10 dollars. My prediction was correct so I won $150 because it was just on a game. I continued doing that until I had bet a total of $25. After this, The matches were getting difficult to predict because it was two strong teams playing. When I noticed that I lost my prediction on the first match, I stopped. I didn't want to lose again.

The experience made me realise that it is not the amount you use for gambling that will make you win and that betting with big amount and big odds does not guarantee winning just like better with small amount and big odds does not also assure winning. It is important to maintain to your bankroll and not over bet by increasing the amount you use in gambling, or increasing the number of times you gamble. You will be lucky gambling when you will be lucky, it does not have to be due to the amount you used in gambling.
Like you rightly said, betting with big amount of money on big odds doesn't guarantee that a gambler is gonna win his stakes but it does provide more chances of winning than the small odds because  it's always easier for big odds to play than small odds.
That being said, I think the major factor that determines the chances of winning in gambling is how lucky a gambler can be.

I only play multi tickets or parlays so my base bet has never been more than 10-15 dollars and that is not a huge amount nor it has altered if I bet more or less.I keep placing the same bets over and over,I mean same amount as placing the same bets over and over and expecting different results is insanity as that saying says and I am happy with this.I have never needed the urge to bet a huge amount on a single team even when deep inside me I knew this was going to be a winning bet,nor I have done extremes like borrowing money to do that,I am happy with my gambling habits which I have no intention of changing.

I remember the time when I placed my largest bet of about four hundred dollars on a local gambling casino. I was so sure that my bet was on the victorious team and I would win a good amount of money. However, as luck would have it, the outcome was a loss. I was devastated and felt very disappointed with myself for not being able to make the right decision. The experience left me feeling depressed and regretful, and I decided to take a short break from gambling.

Well, like most of the commenters here, I like playing NBA basketball, I also like watching NBA playoffs, and I think that I could give it a try in betting on NBA plays as I have an idea which team could win or not and who's a player I can bet on, and so far, it's good because even if I lose, as I monitor my spending in gambling or betting, I can track that I earn more than losing. And I can't recall the largest amount that I win; I think it's $300–400 in just one bet, and does it make me play more or less? It makes me play or bet more, but of course with discipline in mind, and as a person, I sometimes feel greedy and end up not well. Still,  I know that I can earn from betting, so I only limit myself to one bet per day.

Boxing obviously, I can't recall when it was, probably pre-pandemic and I have a PM with my other boxing buddy on how much I bet on it. It was like a full 4 weeks of my signature campaign that time, so could be around $400 give or take, and the only thing that I remember is that it was a Charlo fight. I'm trying to check the PM logs, but I have to go one by one. The result is that I won by one, another thing is that there are two Charlo's in boxing, they are twins and I can't recall which one is the winner. Nevertheless, happy times back then. I still bet on boxing matches but not s big at that amount.

Soccer bet, I never thought that I will lose such game because I was very sure, to the extent that I wanted to kill the bookies, but I forget that know bet is sure, I used my hard earned money, think that it would triple in several folds but my expectation was cut off, in lost that game, I nearly cry because it affected so much that I stay for sometimes before resuming again, it wasn't an easy situation for me, but I let go, I have not erased such memory, the problem with gamblers is that, when their mind is made up to place a bet, there is nothing anyone will say a that moment that will stop them from staking it unless they match has started already, my take is, even though we gamble with less odd losing will still occur, sometimes am even confused with this gambling of a thing.

Maybe you are away from luck so it makes it very difficult for you to get a big win even just once, that's luck, we can't force luck to come quickly or often, basically no one will know when they are lucky. Therefore I think that is a very strong reason why we as gamblers should not be excessive in pursuing something that can never be forced to come and never have any certainty. Small wins don't matter buddy, maybe that's all you can get, never force to look for big wins if in the end it just causes a lot of problems.

Now maybe one of the things that makes it quite difficult for you to get a big win is because you gamble quite rarely so you rarely get big luck, but it doesn't matter better that way and I think maybe it's not time yet. You seem to have a good mindset in terms of gambling perspective, you are able to limit yourself by reducing gambling time and only betting small amounts. Yes I think betting on a match that we don't know at all is a waste of time and money, in sports betting you really need knowledge and skills, because the fact is that it can help, but yes consider it entertainment.
I think so too, mate. I'm still far from lucky that I haven't been able to get a big win until now. But I try to enjoy what I get from gambling, whether it's a loss or just a small win, because, as you said, we can't force luck to come. We just try to enjoy our gambling time well and stop gambling at the right time so that we don't experience big losses. We should not gamble excessively, especially in pursuit of a win that is difficult to get, and even if we can only get a small win, that is enough for us. After all, we use gambling only for entertainment and have no desire to make money but if we can win some money, that is a bonus for us that we must be grateful for.

Maybe I don't or can't get that big luck because I rarely gamble. But even though I try to gamble often, I may still have difficulty getting big wins. It would cost me a lot of money that I wouldn't even be able to afford. Well, I can only limit myself in gambling and only gamble with small bets because that is the way we can limit large losses. Betting on gambling or sports betting really requires managing your money to avoid big losses, especially since we know that gambling can tempt us not to want to stop gambling. Sports betting can give big wins but if we know how to analyze the matches. That's why many people keep trying to train and improve their analysis. They want to try to get their big win.

bonus question: did that experience cause you to play more or less? and do you still bet?

My experience in gambling is somehow and I wonder what the problem is sometimes. Of course, I use to experience both wining and losing as that's the nature of gambling but my concern is my winnings mostly occurs when I bet with small amount of money and my loses occur when I bet with larger amount. I still remember the day I was supposed to have recovered all my previous losses with that ticket but unfortunately I used a very meager amount to place the bet. Was just jokingly selecting random big odds and the balance on my wallet is not enough to place reasonable bet and I decided to deliberately waste the money by placing a bet on some selected big odds but the game eventually play out. I was just shaking my head and saying fear gambling on my mind.
