Just looking for peace
I recently bought four business-class airline tickets with bitcoin through cheapair.com because I needed to travel urgently on a weekend and I couldn't transfer FIAT from my bank account to my credit card because the banks were shut.

Cheapair were awesome. Expedia, for the hotel, not so much. Took two goes to book it after having to spend an hour on the phone explaining to the guy that, yes, they do accept bitcoin for hotel bookings now even if his employer hasn't told him about it yet. The first attempt to book the room saw Expedia lose the room before the transaction had completed (!) and, because I'd already sent the bitcoin, I had to find out how to get it back. Turns out you get it back automatically through Coinbase emailing you about it.

I actually funded the weekend stay in London with bitcoin, but through VRC's VeriBIT service at a couple of bitcoin ATM's while I was there.

VRC>BTC>GBP in one transaction. Sweet.

wow! that all sounds good Smiley

The most expensive thing I bought was a video card which I used to mine some months ago,
but now it's useless for mining and I use it only for gaming purposes.

Why and how did you spend 30btc on Minecraft?

I edited my post with the link to the thread. At the time I believe Bitcoins were about a dollar. This guy was selling Alpha accounts, which meant that you wouldn't have to pay again for Minecraft after the beta was over or something. I also bought multiple accounts for friends too. Probably spent around 120 BTC through PM's with this guy, all on Minecraft accounts, haha.

Hahaha..  I got your bitcoins sucka...    Cheesy  (That was me...)

Seriously though, I think me and Ryland could be considered friends to this day.. and certainly at the time that's what bitcoins were worth. ($1 Each)

I'll add to this thread... I sent BFL 186BTC for a 60GH/s Bitcoin miner... got delayed for 13 months and mined 16BTC with it before it became worthless.

I think we are answering the question wrong though, because we are answering it as "What is the most amount of bitcoins you spent that you regret today because of how much they are worth now."

haha I'll one up you, I spent 209BTC for my SC Single and it earned 17BTC back.

Recently I bought a laptop at overstock.com with BTC as payment.

Well a $4000.00 {USD} computer, surely are a beast? Where did you buy it?

You going to use it to mine?

Thanks for the info, it just shows, stuff can be bought with bitcoins.  Cool

It was closer to $3000 when I spent them, but still it is a nice machine, should get me through college and then some.
I didn't really consider mining until I'd put it together, went for a nVidia card. Turns out that's not great for mining.
I bought it from Scan.co.uk, great site, well established and they use coinbase.
They ship to Europe. Not sure about US, but you'd likely be better off finding somewhere closer like Overstock.
