Today, there are thousands of cryptocurrencies, blockchains, tokens, and altcoins available on various global exchanges with more being developed and born every day. Most are left wondering which are the best and most promising cryptocurrencies of 2017 and possibly 2018. Bitcoin is still considered the Global-Leader and the Godfather of all cryptocurrencies born from the original Satoshi Nakamoto “Whitepaper”, but competition is fierce and change is the only constant and don’t forget about DEEP ONION, DeepOnion is the best cryptocurrency as of now for me because it is easy and more active community.

Monero can be definitely one of them as they did have a decrease but the price growth is really stable.
Eth is also surely a promising coin. Some people do say people are simply pumping it but i definitely don't agree to it. Before this pump eth had the second largest market cap.
Maybe ltc. As finally the developers introduced something new there is a high chance that we see an increase in ltc this year.

Bitcoin is getting less volatile and less profitable to trade in with all these regulation measures but Ethereum should be a good altcoin to invest in as its showing some gains recently
I will go for Golem and Singularity both is still around the ICO price, solid development team, well capitalized (ICO sold out in few minutes) also in a good market cloud computing and media

because they are not that good, they are project related and based on etheruem , i would avoid investing there, better to look at some fresh project, if there aren't just wait for something new, last one was pascalcoin, new one who know, but don't look at the ico, they are bad iconomi for example got dumped very hard, the same fate will be for the other, peaople learned already about the trap called ico

I feel that Waves will be promising in 2017. However, you need to do your own research like others have said.
To be honest, waves is very potential because the current price is much lower than ICO price. I recommend ETH, WAVES, STRATIS are big players in 2017.
I'm not saying WAVES has no potential. On the contrary, I was going to say that it has, because I read today an article in the Forbes magazine where it was mentioned. I was amazed by the huge Market Cap this coin has, over $25,000,000. But as I can see not only me was going to say about that in this thread. But I have one question. Does the ICO really influence the price of a coin in the future? What about Zcash then? ZEC's ICO was huge. Does it mean it has a big potential then?

I spend some money one VIDZ, not to much but I have almost 1000. As I understand developers have some big plans for this coin, I don't expect some fast increase so my plan is to hold this coin for some time and maybe buy more over the time.

I am a newbie in trading and I'm wondering what Altcoin is promising this 2017?
We can't direct a particular altcoin which results into profitable trade but still here are more chances to do some more work for bitcoin and altcoin trading .Here in my opinion it is to be best to buy BLRY and PAK .
For both these two , I have a reason BLRY is that altcoin in the list of altcoin which is more fluctuating , it means BLRY can give huge profit speedly And Secondly PAK is not much famouse , it has very big difference between its buy order and sell order , So through making order of buy and then sell you can make better profit , I am doing the same with pak and made about 0.009btc in one month with 0.02btc .
here you should have option of PXL coin , conditions for this coin is also same .
Stratis hands down. You guys are crazy for not having this on your radar. One of the few projects actually making a prominent name for themselves in the blockchain/fintech community; especially top expo's and events.....It is a guaranteed 300-400% from here, with sky being the limit...who knows.
I think Choronobank and Qtum are two worth watching crypto of this year.Although this is just the begining of year and many more would come but currently these two are worth investment.
