The strongest currency as of now is going to be either the Swiss Franc (CHF) or the Japanese Yen (JPY). These are the currencies which have witnessed the least decrease in purchasing power, during the last few decades. To add to this, the inflation rate in both these countries are near zero. I would have mentioned some of the fiat currencies from the GCC nation as well, but they are not doing that well since 2014.

True or Fake. This is the strangest fiat currency I came across. Maybe the economically fallen country currencies will have such denomination. Every country will have some currencies that were printed very limited. Those currencies too looks strange as those won't be available in common.

I am a fiat currency collector from various countries in the world, and in my opinion there is nothing strange. Every country has an
interesting and unique design, maybe I am quite amazed by the fiat currency that comes from the Philippines. Some of the coins
from the Philippines are not like other countries that are in the form of a circle, but some Philippine coins are in the form of a square,
decagon, and even those shaped like flowers.

I am a numismatist ( or coin/money collector for those of you not familiar with the term ) and have been collecting for quite a few years now.  I love coming across altered money that is really unique.  One of the coolest notes I came across was one that had a Lord of The Ring depiction all over the note.  The "artist" re-created several scenes from the movie and honestly I couldn't believe they put it in to circulation it was so cool.

This is another one of my favorites.  It's a bitcoin paper wallet created by Kialara.  It came under fire as some on online forums such as Twitter questioned the legality of doing this.  Some described it as illegal and defacing. ( It turns out it's actually not ).

For me the strangest form of fiat currency is the ones affected by hyper inflation. Like in Venezuela for example where the value is changing weekly and you can't basically buy anything anymore with cash. When you have to use a one year salary from a few years back to buy a meal right now. As no intrinsic value is in the paper money and trust factor of the government is at 0 just shows us how bad things can get when only relying in fiat currencies.. Most of the payments are done online now in USD or other major currencies. I would not give my crypto currencies back for any fiat's.

I have a little panel, hanging on the wall directly behind my desk at home, with a 100,000,000,000 USD from Zimbawe. One identical to the one PlanB sports in his Twitter cover picture.
IT is just a memento about not trusting central bankster.

Thanks for sharing. They are beautiful collectible coins. I wanted to know more and found the link to the source. On the website there are a description of these coins and others for those who like to collect real works of art.

I really want to start collecting all the coins with foxes that there are (and there are really a lot of them). Many of them are made incredibly beautiful. In addition, such coins could be a sort of investment because different limited series after a couple of decades soars in price

I love limited series of all sorts of coins - collectible and for festive events. But one of my favorites is the Austrian 100 euro with a Fox family! Some countries still have coins with foxes, but this one is my favorite.

You guys do know that anyone can decline to accept any currency with stuff written or drawn on it right? I mean in most countries it is illegal to change the look of the paper fiat and if you do that anyone you give it to has the right to decline that if they want to.

Obviously people don't do it on 100 dollar bills usually (maybe few might) and do it on low level paper so that it wouldn't be hurting their finance to express their art on fiat, but it is still not allowed. Hence I think all of these pieces of paper with stuff on it that you guys shown are basically just unacceptable money, not something you can go ahead and use and expect it to be accepted. If you can just fool them or they just don't care they could still accept but they should not do that according to law.

The weirdest fiat currency I have ever seen, if the paper money has a pen scratch on it. Some even drew on the paper money,
because it's clear the person doing that doesn't respect the money. If I keep paper money in my wallet, I try to protect it well.
But what made me even more surprised was that the paper money that had been scribbled was still valid for use.

Indonesian dollar was the strangest Fiat currency I have ever seen for both its value and its characters printed in it. I mean, the art was just fine but it was not updated unlike other countries when they are having new Presidents or new Places that they can boast on their money. The value too is very low and you must have at least Millions of Indonesian dollar before you can afford a CANDY. Some really say that their officials are corrupt but can provide good jobs though I dont have proof for that.

From my point of view, Philippines peso is the strangest fiat currency that I have ever seen because every decade the bank central of the Philippines always wanted to change the physical appearance of our currency that it makes it a little bit weird, and it makes difficult for people who has a visual impairment to identify the coins.

I vote for island of Yap Rai stones https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rai_stones
I recognized.
Surely this is a currency with extremely large denominations. The cost of its creation and the effort of transporting it makes it valuable.

These unit of accounts are featured on Saifedean Ammous’ book “The Bitcoin Standard”. Rai Stones were counted, naturally, on the “hard money” camp. The funny thing is a few of those stones were “lost” during transport, at sea, So those were on the seabed. The inhabitants started trading “credit letters” on those lost Rai’s, securely stores, where everyone could see those, but nobody could touch...

I would pick the Philippine's Twenty Peso because, it displays our late president Manuel Quezon in which he is the one that have brought us are national language. National language is what symbolizes a country and it should be given importance everyday. It is also memorable because, it is mostly what I have receive when there will be holidays when I was a little.

When I was ~10 years old I found a wallet on the street. When I opened it to check I noticed a lot of banknotes. Wallet directly in my pocket Smiley)
I continued my walk... Once arrived at home I figured the banknotes were full of zeros. Jesus Christ! I couldn't sleep for several days, I felt like a real rich guy,  I didn't say it to my parents or a friend.

A month later I told my parents and asked them to take me to a bank to exchange them. I was already dreaming about those Reebok Pump. The teller told me it wasn't worth anything. It was an old-money from Yougoslavie and the money was devalued to zero.

A strange currency I have seen is a local currency in my country, other than the official EURO, decentralized more or less. 95% of people here don't know this money exists, but there are several but there are a dozen of it

I searched for information about the strangest currencies, and I found 1 thing. Well, that is the Hungarian currency, I got information that the currency has a value of 100 million billion pengos. whether it's still there today or not, but it's really strange. I don't think it will cost if we have 1000 pengo.

One of the banknotes from Peru depicts a spinning machine. It seemed to me very unusual!

i checked it on the web  , it was the one with a girl standing in front of those machines  ? if it is then its normal to me  and i dont see anything strange . other bills that i see above were also not un-usual but only funny because they put drawings on it  . dunno if they draw it themselves or they only grab it on the net  . strange currency supposed to be natural only  and not modified by someone else  . on our local fiat currency , i dont find anything strange here but i only notice that currencies  before are insects and animals , later on they remove it and replace by national heroes  .
