an account that has like 200activities and 100 merit with the a username like Satoshi might no longer bear the name but might answer tymos. But after sometime it will disappear and maintain it normal state.
Can you please clarify more on this? Because things are getting spooky, more like a scifi movie. If I understand correctly there is another satoshi account with 200 activity and 100 merit in another dimension/universe.

That would indicate that version of satoshi is struggling to rank up beyond full member, and shows theymos does the merit system in all possible universes.😂

Ok, before we speculate further, maybe it's best to wait for an explanation.
Lolz.. just an example, not even close to what you think thought. Am just trying to be funny while doing my explanation on network glich.

I have been active on bitcointalk using mobile device only (entire life). If you ever logged in to bitcointalk on a mobile, you'll know how hard it is to navigate to boards to boards, threads to threads. To post, comment, reply or to see the content, you'll have to zoom in and zoom out again and again. It can become a headache for those who uses it on mobile. That's the reason I have been using it on mobile.
That's okay for me though, although i'm already used to it since i'm literally 6 years already using this old-layout non-mobile friendly website, but it does not matter, what matter is the content, knowledge and payment form sigcamp of course lol.

If it were not for this your caption, many wouldn't have believed. I have seen many of this network glich but probably not this type I've seen another name on another account. For example an account that has like 200activities and 100 merit with the a username like Satoshi might no longer bear the name but might answer tymos. But after sometime it will disappear and maintain it normal state.

Another one is also no avater. Sometimes with network glich all the username in a thread will empty with no avater after sometime it will show. Sometimes another campegn avatar will reflect on another perticipant avater. Like a person on mixer campegn will turn to bitves or Sinbad campegn Avatar. I have experience it alot.

Yes, the addon was outdated. That's what causing the glitch, probably. It won't show without the extension enabled. I have tested several time. It only appears when the extensions are on. And only for one or two seconds.

For the sake of testing and investigation, I had to add this extension and test it myself, and I was able to reproduce it Smiley

First of all, yes, there's a post with a hero rank with this weird big number text, but it's hidden. You can still inspect the element and check the second post on the page with the class name "dummyPost."

This class with the display property: none means it will disappear as soon as the page is loaded.

This has nothing to do with slow speed or connection issues; it will always appear and disappear as soon as the page is loaded (if this extension is enabled, otherwise will be hidden by default).

Now, the question is, where is it coming from?

No, it's not the extension that is adding this weird post; actually, this extension is doing a favor by showing and then hiding it after the page is loaded.

It's theymos... I mean, maybe, but yes, this dummy post exists on almost every page (check for yourself, inspect the tags around the ad)... not only one but three times... irrespective of if you are using the extension of not.

Only theymos can answer this, but I think it has something to do with the "ad", this bitcointalk ad that appears on every page after the first posts. Because I see there's a pattern, although the number will change as the ad changes, but the ID of this ad has something to do with these posts and this number.

Also, sometimes this post appears once, sometimes twice, or maybe three or four times in a row. It can be above the ad, or sometimes it's around the ad.

This is the code for the one of the posts if you can't inspect:

I have tested it in Chrome, FireFox and Edge same behavior, also it doesn't matter if you are logged in or not.

P.S. fahbil's mobile extension named it 'dummyPost', so shoutout to fahbil.

It could definitely be the result of that Bitcointalk app and addon that he is using that is causing it.

No, this extension or app is not the reason for these weird posts, see above.

When it comes to the appearance issue of the page, internet connection always matters, if it loaded whole page or not yet, next is what extension you have installed that has additional css/layout manipulation of the page.
Well, i didn't use any bitcointalk related extension so i can't give any experience to that, but why you use a mobile app look in q desktop browser, or are you using a mobile device?

I only use it because I don't have a laptop or desktop device.

There are two bugs though. One that I mentioned in this thread and the other one is related to PM. As this extension modifies the CSS code to change layouts some PM won't show up normally. As example, you might see PM1, PM2 but PM3 would be blank. It's there but it won't show, due to the bug. I have been using it for months, apart from these two problem everything else is fine.

I am actually a little skeptical about downloading any extensions or apps that are directly related to Bitcoin Talk or wallets due to security reasons.

To be honest, I have not tried that extension the OP mentioned. It does not seem like it is even supported anymore anyway, so I probably will not end up using it. But you cannot judge all extensions equally. For instance, I have never had any issues with the BPIP extension. It was created by a respected member of the community, and lots of other users have tested it out too.

I guess it solves the problem then, you should avoid using that addon of the BTT app. BTW I wasn't aware of this app but as of now I am aware of the issue in that app then I might not consider giving it a try. I think this topic should be locked now, but the decision is still yours   Smiley

@DYING_S0UL the next time you see it, run Bitcointalk in Chrome normally and see if it appears there. Or disable it on Firefox and open the forum through the mobile browser.

You said it's a hero member right? I bet that's our forum ghost trying to rank up, poor thing. It seems merits have affected the ghost world as well, I don't know how they could request for a mod or merit source if they have not enough of those.😂
To all girls, this forum is haunted, time to scream and run. Lol
Looooool  Grin. Fear not girls I'm here, the ghost buster. Cool

Yes it's a hero member with the most post count. Even the forum's administrators, mods, founder doesn't have that much of activity.

What kind of user scripts do you have running in your browser? This is not the usual forum layout that most users see. So it appears something might be messing up with the layout from your end.
It could definitely be the result of that Bitcointalk app and addon that he is using that is causing it. The app was released 4-5 years ago and has since not been updated. On the official thread where the user introduced the app to the community in 2018, you can see the below picture where it's evident that there are problems with displaying the avatars properly.

Another member says he fixed the code, but I doubt that fix ever found its way into the official release. If there are issues with avatars, there could very well be other layout glitches as well.

I came across a weird glitch. Can anybody explain what it is? Have any of you guys faced it before?
~

What kind of user scripts do you have running in your browser? This is not the usual forum layout that most users see. So it appears something might be messing up with the layout from your end.

That may be correct that OP use some script and that makes the layout not displayed correctly. I didn't use any script and the layout of the forum never happened like that. This is also my first time seeing glitch or problem like that and even though my internet slowed down this doesn't happen at all. Let's wait for OP to answer of OP did use some script and what browser OP is using.

I only used two extension that helps me browse bitcointalk more easily. It's "bitcointalk mobile" and " BPIP.

https://github.com/ewwink/bitcointalk-mobile

Note: I forgot, I use extensions which can sometimes mess with browser layout. I'm used to using these user scripts. I just realized seeing your comment that it's not part of bitcointalk.  Tongue

I have never experienced such a thing before, even when my network is very slow. What browser did you use again?

And the same number "1700337231" keep appearing every time you get into this issue?

I don't exactly remember if it was "1700337231" every time. But it was something like that always. A random number.

Perhaps the page has loaded prematurely or something?

I have traveled to places with shit connection and sometimes, some pages do not load properly hence I would see some parts of the website break and I have to refresh -- I'm not primarily talking about bitcointalk but websites I've encountered in general.

I have not experienced any of such before that looks like this, but I have experienced a situation where, either due to a network issue or maybe it might be from the forum, I notice a different name attached to a member's display name under a comment section, and most times it appears that my name under a comment seems to look different from what it actually is.

I have captured such a moment twice before, but I always taught it was just my imagination, but this post just made me think it's possible that such an issue exists due to a network issue that could appear differently depending on location or viewer.

So whenever there is a network issue, slow internet connection or slow loading speed, I see something like shown in the photo below. Technically nothing as that user (1700337231) existed on my thread before. And after the thread loads property, the user vanishes. You only see a glimpse of it, when the page is still loading. It will only show, if you have a very slow connection. I have noticed this many times, I don't know if I'm the only one.

Username, post count, post content everything is shown as 1700337231. And the rank is hero member.  Tongue
I don't know if it's the right board to post this. Since it's related to the forum I'm posting it here.
