I love reading Nicholas Sparks' books. I love reading love stories or romance. And also trilogy books, especially, fifty shades of grey.

Matilda. It was the first full book I've ever read, and I read it so many times after that. It's the reason I became such a bookworm.

Literature and poetry mostly. I like folks like Joyce, Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Saroyan, Jean Genet, W. Burroughs, Irvine Welsh. I like how it seems to make some sense of the world.
And I like poetry, like that of Baudelaire, Fr. Villon, Kipling's stuff.

I also think taking time to read biographies of people you admire is helpful to everyone.

Motivation and self-development books can also be an asset, provided you manage to edit out some of the BS that many of these type of books contain.

One of my favorite books is Shantaram - it tells the real story of a man who escaped an Australian prison and find his hideout in Mumbai India during the 80s. His journey is quite marvelous - from living in the coptor and making out his living while being a doctor for all of its residents, spending time in prison, working for the Mumbai mafia, even participating in war. His story is worth reading! His writing skills are quite special - he is able to leave a feeling that you are actually walking in the Mumbai streets while reading Smiley
