All I know is that I know nothing.
ethereum is known to be pumped and we have been seeing how much money whales of ethereum actually have a while back when they were putting up those huge 700-1000BTC buy walls to prevent the price to crash hard.

the POS change can be a very good reason for a new pump in ethereum and when it starts i am sure there is no stopping at 20-50% profit, it will go at least up to 100% and more profit.

but until then, price is going to be like this with small changes and even dropping overall in long term.

since the dao

I have lost faith to how the ethereum foundation handles the situation

and found out about tezos... a blockchain with governance in the protocol which handles upgrades and soft fork without dictatorship

so...

no doubt ethereum ecosystem is awesome with a lot of dapps around but yet the majority of people in this world still never heard of ethereum... so

Follow your heart.
It is pumping like crazy. I think it will pump even more and more.

Many companies are investing in the blockchain and projects of Ethereum. Let time pass by and Ethereum rise!

tone vays announced to release a youtube video soon, explaining why ethereum is a scam from the very beginning, not even talking about DAO. i suggest to be very careful!
Tone vays is shit,
In this time ethereum still grow more and more, May I think if tone was scamming his ass. Look the chart and the market price, there are lots of potential in ethereum.

Don't believe Tony Vays opinion when it comes to Altcoin projects, I know he is doing the best for the community to expose scam coins but his stand on Altcoin project is flawed. Can some tell me Factom is a scam, this is a well run project and solid development team behind it. I know most of the Altcoins project are shit coins but some are coming into the space with a well thought of idea and team behind it

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
What do you think is going to happen after Ethereum change, completely to PoS?
ETH price will skyrocket? ETH price will stabilise? What do you think and how this may affect Bitcoin BTC as well.

one thing is certain, price of ethereum won't become  stable ever. it will always remain volatile and super volatile from time to time, that is the story of small markets such as ETH with low trade volume. you can see it in bitcoin too but bitcoin has grown a lot and it is converging on getting stable.

but about the change to PoS to have to say i think the price will most possibly rise and we may even see a big rally once again with a nice amount of profit.

i think it is going to skyrocket.
this is a very good news for doing a hype on and when things like this happen, usually price of that altcoin goes extremely high. most probably starting before the event itself and continue on after it for a while and then shape up a bubble which will then pop and price fall down.

Ethereum will have its up's and down's just like how it is going on now. The price will rise then dump when the developers realize that they got played by the system.

Now the people who want to make money in this may already know not to put all their money into one trade so like those that did PandaCoin will feel that pain when things get real and dev's want to become #1 of something.

hi there Asdalani, thanks for answer. Based on you opinion, what do you think would be better to hold for a long term besides BTC?

PS: If the devs had been played by the system, why they keep developing ETH and his platform? Do they not know yet?

I can see the initial pump in response to Casper, then the price of Ether would tank, it is just a way to make the Ethereum foundation richer. I see Lisk playing out here, the price would dropped significantly and the price would it parity with ETC or even go below it. The design of POS is flawed

I think ETH's decision to maximize GPU mining was a smart call in the long run. The hashing power will keep it alive for a long time as long as the devs show some progress and work.

ETH needs a very popular and useful dapp for it to take some of BTC's share of the market.

it's had its epic pump, then it tried to deliver and made an epic mess too. now it has to really deliver. it's not going anywhere but i don't think there'll be any crazy movements for a good while. they've made their mistakes in public, now it's time to make some progress.

I think eth is a dying coin there has been so many problems with eth and as rockie said etc and eth hurt each other.

Plus as far as I see most pos coins are not very good so idk what is gonna make eth any better. And if I read right you need a min 1000 eth to stake so it will only be for bagholders anyway.

I don't think that ETH is dying, where do you see this? Just check the graph in exchanges and you can see that it is not a dead coin.

It is the most traded coin in poloniex most of the time (expect the pascal pump that took the attention of all traders)

Thank you...

I don't think you realize the amount of ambitious Dapps being built on Ethereum along with the dev tools that are being created. Stable coins, prediction markets and social networks are just a few.

Yep the marketcap is big, that is one of the best things of this coin, you can do some speculative trading without fear of the coin getting delisted, but other than that, it's a gamble. I would wait for the coin to hit a real low and get a position.

As far as I know, they need to hard fork again... hard forks are a mess and usually cause price crashes. I will personally wait to see how the PoS transition goes.

Thanks to all for your answer. Is giving me a wide point of view with many factors to consider.
Thanks for your time to all of you!

The fact that it is holding its price so well despite the problems shows to me that eth is not going anywhere soon. Their position is simply too strong at the moment.

Disclaimer: I don't hold many eth, this is just my unbiased opinion.

it's due to the marketcap which is very big and can't be taked down so easy, but i cna't see a pump either, it will remain stuck there for a long time like litecoin and if nothing new happen the value will decline slowly until people will not care anymore about

Hello there!

Thanks for your opinions

I guess ETH is a good medium term pick, those sort of events tends to create hype, but long term, i just can't trust the thing, because after the DAO disaster we saw how much of a fuck up this technology can be. I dont want to have money in a coin that is prone to hard forks every time someone fucks up their smart contract.
