What can I say?  She's blonde.

Who?

Your wife or your daughter?

My wife for thinking that you could turn BTC.1 into BTC10 by just waiting...

Aw, shucks. I was gonna say...

You can if you use MCXnow (it would take forever) but they offer interest, just like a bank Smiley

Devcoin is actually almost kinda modeled to be an alien currency. They are attempting to build rockets and communities eventually.

And because it is mainly focused around writing at the moment, it could even evolve into a global, then universal translator and communication service.

I think devcoin could be the future of bitcoin. Mining is great, but it is not something that can make a sustainable social structure that can exist across time and space.

most giftcard for bitcoin sites are for the Yanks.. not the Brits.. so in my case its still not useful, and i know kids that prefer something in hand as a direct reward for chores. and not the whole go on computer play around with a couple websites to print out a voucher / get code sent to phone ..

family i have love seeing pennies in their little purses .. and the funniest thing.. if i gave them £1 in pennies (100 coins) they think they are receiving more then if i gave them a £1 coin. well they are all under 6yo so i cant blame them..

They would be right. The intrinsic value of 100 pennies is greater than a single £1 coin.

Children generally prefer coins to paper money as well (again, the intrinsic value is higher).

My husband asked my daughter if she understood what Bitcoin was.  She said, "You talk about it all the time.  You think it is like a miracle but then you say you could lose it all."

So then he tried to explain how it was a currency, like the money we had to exchange on our last vacation, but it is not a currency of any real country. It is only currency on the internet.  To which she replied, "Oh. It is like alien currency."

So I guess we are investing in alien currency that is a miracle that we could lose all of at some point?  Wink  Too funny!

So I guess we are investing in alien currency that is a miracle that we could lose all of at some point?

Like US currency which could be next on a long list?

The idea that it cannot or will not happen again is somewhat childish Smiley which is something you may wish to explain as well.

If I give you BTC.01 for chores and you hold for a year it could be worth BTC.1 or even BTC1 someday!   Grin  I guess it could teach some delayed gratification.

I think "alien money" will be much more exciting when she needs to buy her first car or is going to college and we have enough to pay for it then!

thats true and there is something magical about watching your balance increase.

My bad.  0. 01 BTC cannot be worth .1BTC.  What I meant to say is 0.1BTC is worth $1000  Grin

it's ok.  you're a girl.

my wife counts the same way.  the more we spend on sales, the more we make! Grin

rofl oh god. "look its on sale, we save 4 dollars by buying this", "um no sweetie spend 10 dollars by buying this, we save money by not buying it"  Roll Eyes Grin
