It's better to involve stakes or rewards in gambling because the loser might don't want to get punishment or they will try to cheat or reduce the punishment. Let's say the punishment is 20x push ups, the loser will do 20x push ups in bad forms because they're not strong enough to push up in correct forms. But if you stakes something, it's really clear the winner will get that without any drama.

Playing games without money is more than just choosing a board game, right? Our connection style is revealed by it. Our point is that procedure matters more than payoff. Fair competition, regardless of who wins

Even with tasty prizes or silly punishments, aren't shared times the greatest trophy? Our later stories, intimate jokes, and memories? Not the stuff you can hold, but the smack-talk, wild schemes, pushing the boundaries too far, and coming back together

Games without cash incentives test us. Understanding others, discovering their true selves. That raw human experience, right? Real feeling, developing something together, challenging ourselves and friends. Wasn't that the point?

When I'm in with the company of friends and we decide to have a game I want something that will build our relationship so I don't I will recommend the loser shouldering the cost of the events.

I prefer that we pool all our money and the winners get special food or drinks or anything, games should be friendly there should be no place for cheating, and no one is pressured to win.

It's different when you are in the company of your friends, the atmosphere should be light and there's no pressure or quarrel and everyone will go home thinking that they have fun and we all feel looking forward to the next event.

Well, as for what you can bet on, it can be a very specific game like poker, it is the most common, but also where something called "Rumi", "Ahiley" among others is played, sometimes they prefer to play for money for make the game more serious, but if it is for enjoyment or something like that, I think the best bet would be the box of beers, some things to eat like pizzas, hamburgers, something like that, the loser would have to opt out of such foods, but I think that things can be different ways.

What is most common to enjoy among friends may be that, there could also be sports betting maybe a good game, betting and enjoying as I said before, with a few beers and something to snack on, that would be the main reason why things could happen.

As long as the punishment is not too harsh, I think that playing with friends can be very entertaining because it creates a shared feeling which is not very common when you play, usually alone.

Just make sure that the terms are clear, everyone accepts them on beforehand, and not engage with those of your friends who like to make excuses the most, because it can be very frustrating to face the risk of the game and see, after winning it, that the other party is not willing to keep his/her end of the deal.
Exactly. I think the way of the game—how  the winner will be rewarded or howthe loser will be punished—doesn't matter as long as you have the bond and the fun. Any group of friends will enjoy the gambling in the sense that they are playing together. Like what I experienced, I always love to play gambling with my friends. Sometimes we will not use a betting app; instead, we will only give a pot of money where we will stake a certain amount. Those winners will get the pot money and it will be shared with the loser, who of course doesn't get anything. So I think it's better if those betting apps have only a session or if a certain group could do betting separate from the general so that their price money will only be in a closed group. But maybe there is a better reward system that could be liked by a certain group.

Playing with friends is what I always enjoy because that serves also as our reunion
as we have no much time meeting up so when we decide having time together we choose
to play either in casino or in one of our houses and yeah we keep enjoying .
If it were gambling with friends, maybe I would choose to play cards with them. Even though I don't have as good card playing skills as they do, it's a fun game. It has made us feel the closeness of our friendship.

there is no best way to gamble but with cards , this is what we mostly enjoy ,
and I believe that card i what we can call a friendly game most of the time.

As for the punishment for the loser, I think it doesn't matter because it's just a game that the loser must accept. We also cannot always win and can accept punishment because we lose. And that makes the game even more fun.

The punishment will be graffiti on the face, which is common for those who lose. Or drink soda for those who lose. The game can or cannot use funds depending on the agreement between us.

Usually I play domino cards with my friends and even then I don't have to use any funds just to have fun when we feel bored or just looking for entertainment in the game, sometimes we play it while waiting for the football show which is broadcast at midnight so while waiting to watch live with Friends playing dominoes makes friendships stick together even more, there are no other games that we can play because there are some friends who don't understand the card game which is very trendy at the moment.

For example, like the game of poker or rummy, not many of my friends understand the game and on average almost many understand the game of dominoes, so it's better to give in and not be selfish, it's better to play a game that is easy for some of my friends to understand because it's impossible to play a game where friends I can't play because it doesn't look fun, talking about your previous thread, maybe your previous thread was moved somewhere else or deleted by the moderator, exactly as friends have said in this thread, at least you should put gambling discussions on the gambling board. .

Would you prefer the game that the winner would earn some edible stakes? The one which the looser would earn being punished or any friendly disciplinary measures? Or such games that specifically involves stake of funds amongst your friends for the winners rewards?

Me: I would prefer the above exempts the one with the stakes of funds involved.

What's yours?

If it's a friendly game among my friends then I prefer something like the loser will shoulder the cost of the snacks or drinks but it should not be hard on his pocket because this is a friendly game.

Shouldering half of the cost should be enough and he will not go empty-handed as if he just treated us for a treat and everybody will go home happy because of the experience.
Thats some smart move right there. Let it the game be kept in a more friendly manner so that the one who loose will still fee reason to be happy at the end of the game.

All hands are not equal so no matter the price that will be paid by the loser if it's a fixed price most friends who are not financially buoyant won't afford it which may cause argument that may lead to conflict between friends. Such a game should be done for fun and merriment not for raising money.

I would prefer to stake non-monetary materials when I am playing with friends and family who are not gamblers. My position is that using money could cause friction or disagreement if these people are not true gamblers. They might be offended if they lose and some might even want a refund of their losses. I wouldn't want to have problems with family members because of gambling and money is usually one of the major cause of problems. I used to gamble with a group of relatives who were cousins. These guys were professional gamblers who understood the activity and there have never been any issues. Losers go back home without any ill feelings while winners are free to enjoy their wins and on some occasions, they might decide to buy some bottles of beer or give out small tips to losers. In summary, if these relatives are non-gamblers, I wouldn't stake money, but if they are professionals, money will be my best choice.

Same here! especially my other sets of friends are not open to gambling, it's hard to play with them if there's money involved because it's really possible to have misunderstandings and disagreements especially when they lose, of course there are different questions which is difficult to explain because they are not familiar with gambling, so it is better to bond with them without money involved, not unless as you mentioned that if some of them are professional gamblers, there will be no problem as long as they can accompany me in what I do, it's easy to talk if the person you're talking to has the same interest and background in the activity you're doing.

So on the thread I was concerned to know your opinions towards which of the nature of games that you would prefer playing along with your friends such as...

I actually enjoy betting against my friends which involves card games. It may be simple or complicated card games such as poker, blackjack, etc. so that there will be that level of competition during the games.

Most of my friends are competitive in nature and they really want to prove that they are the best at what they are doing. From this, I prefer to be competitive as well in order to prove that I am the best among them!

I prefer a mix of both as this also depends on the friends that I am betting against.

Like what I mentioned above, if the game involves my friends who are competitive, then I would go for the big rewards and stake cash in the process. On the other hand, I would prefer simple bets against my not-so-competitive friends where the punishment would be like a dare or something.

At the end of the day, you have to be flexible enough as each friend has their respective likes. You also have to read the room if your friends are willing to bet cash; or if your friends just want to have a chill gathering, thus, punishments and dares.

I used to play card games with my friends before. A friendly game wherein we go buy snacks at the grocery for the prices. Every time we end the match, the winner would get the snack he/he like from the plastic bag. We prefer doing these kinds of rewards to ensure that everyone will have fun than making punishment to the loser of the game. But unfortunately, my friends and I do not do this kinds of activities nowadays since everyone are busy with work and priorities. I honestly kinda miss the old days haha.

I’d like to see a zombie survival game you can play with your friends on a team. Whatever team is left standing at the end could get everyone’s entry fee or something. I’d play that and I think my friends and I would enjoy murdering zombies and staying alive to win a prize. I’d make a career out of it.  Cheesy

Funds, or dares. Without any sort of stake, it's not really a gamble. And if we wanted to play without gambling anything, we would've much preferred to play other types of games that aren't in line with gambling games, e.g. Valorant, Dota2, etc. We actually did this once. Played a couple of rounds of poker without any stakes at first but immediately went boring so we dared the one who lost to follow the orders of those who won (their collective decision on what dare the loser is going to do) and well, it was the embarrassing sort of orders naturally. This was back in my college days.

In my case, I don't play anything with anyone. I always prefer to place my sports bets alone, I always avoid talking about gambling around other people, I always avoid talking about gambling around other people, this is because people tend to take gambling very seriously here in my country. parents most of the time there are games, there are always fights and I'm not a physically strong person, so I prefer to stay away from playing with people from my country. At least doing this saves me a lot of headaches

I don't think I have any preference on this, tbh. I'd say enjoyment mostly boils down with the people you're with.

For instance, I think someone in a bad mood, tries to cheat or an unbearably salty person would def ruin the vibe. Although, from my experience, the salt are more likely to rub on people when there is money at stake lols.

Yes, as it should be . And many of us still got those friends while some of us don't. On the one hand, how do we deal a friend or friends that.wamta.to always wager at the slightest opportunity? For example you tell them hasten up to do something and they tell you that they bet you can't finish up before you.And they are giving to go ahead to drop a $20 that whoever finishes first gets it. Having a friend like this is pretty tiring.
Well, if you have 1 persistent friend in your group that always likes to wager, you can play some penny ante poker from time to time. Put a 25 cent max bet or something and for $20 each you guys can have hours of fun. No need to make your friends poor, save that for gambling at the casino.
Friends with the same hobby who always spend money in gambling places must still be careful, There is a very scary potential when they experience a lot of losses and then they try to use you to borrow money and after that don't return it with the excuse We're good friends, right? which ultimately makes the friendship relationship that has been built for a long time become bad and gives rise to a very high feeling of disappointment.
