There's a VERY active Nxt development thread on bitcointalk, as well as two independent forums dedicated to Nxt. If you read a few hundred of its pages you'll get a sense of the community, and it's very exciting.

I think CLAM have the most active and dedicated dev team. Although the price really went down a lot.  Sad

Hypercoin is really promising. It has competent developers and a great outlook on the future. The price has been relatively stable since it first launched over a year ago as well.

Vanillacoin - currently POW and POS

quick summary of vanillacoin?

Purpose:  John is trying to build VNL into a scalable, secure, decentralized currency with instant transactions that won't have to centralize in the future.  Bitcoin will most likely have to centralize (with only large corporations mining it, putting up nodes, and offering instant txs) over the next few decades for a variety of reasons.

Current Features:

-Only coin other than Bitcoin that only requires 1 confirmation on Poloniex.  You can test this by going here: https://poloniex.com/public?command=returnCurrencies and searching for minconf":1,"

-Only coin that has staking mobile wallets that allow you to move your wallet.dat to your PC from your Android and iOS wallets

-Only coin with near-instant 0-confirmation transactions that doesn't use master nodes.  You can receive node incentives if you have 10,000 in collateral, but collateral is not necessary to be a super peer.  You just need an open VNL port, a certain amount of uptime, and possibly a certain amount of bandwidth.

-Only coin that has encrypted connections and gives you a random port if you have no config.dat.  All your ISP will see is normal SSL traffic while monitoring your ports, which is unlike what happens with all other coins.  If you're using Bitcoin and your ISP monitors your ports, it will know you're using port 8333, which means it knows you're using Bitcoin.

-Only coin that automatically burns all tx fees, and they're not sent to a burn address either

quick summary of vanillacoin?

yes that, pls.
still don't get VNL like NXT you need to run a server?

(opinion)
NXT, BTS, and likely VNL ... not POS in the common sense.

BLK, RUBY, CLAM, MINT, SDC ... those are the POS ... the coins above them on the MarketCap list are more "2.0" or "Anon" and beyond the street level 'stakers'.

Most active (over time) ... T3k, Hobo, Cap ... personally had a rough go keeping up-to-date and sync'd ... but willing to let that slide if they end up with a solid product ... (i know hybrids are a pain to code so no complaints).

I'd don't know why Jyap doesn't get more attention.  My experience is stable clients, timely updates, and no hype.

Definitely NXT. There is no POS coin where devs have delivered more what they have promised. There are new versions almost monthly with new features.

Don't judge dev's by how much they post here etc..
Some coders refuse to take part in this slop fest of scammery..

Why post your code you worked hard for on a site that allows scams and clones (7,000+)
Many dev's post there code on sites that have some integrity and rules against fraud etc.

Why post rose's on a shooting range ?
