You should be very precise when it comes to transactions you make. Check the address several times. And make sure your pc is under virus protection, use only well-known and certified bitcoin-connected sites (exchanges)

Just avoid sharing your private keys and other important codes. Avoid logging in on public connections. Your computer should have a good virus protection too. I haven't tried losing bitcoins as a mode of payment though as long as you are responsible enough.

rather than cheater, i think it is a scammer and hacker. you should pay attention to the address you paste.
when you are about to send bitcoins to other address, make sure when you paste, that is the address that you want.
not only bitcoin, but every altcoin owners should double triple check their address.

you should recognize the shape of bitcoin, for example is the mode of fraud by phishing, you better avoid this pishing scam by not opening suspicious links. or if the link asks for your wallet address, then you better move away from that link.

then there is also a scam with ponzi mode, so you can avoid from scam with ponzi mode, then you do not try to meet all its offer. although the offer is very interesting.

avoid unnecessary links, and better you choose sites that support with bitcoin development.

Do use hardwallets,metamask extension,anti virus & anti malware softwares and you will be fine.You can protect yourself from being hacked when you have these tools,and most importantly do not give up your privatekeys to someone else.
