You (OP) have bumped into a long-standing forum bug. The earliest topic/post about it (that I can find) is from 2014:
the table above is shown correctly in the previewwindow for the post, but after posting the spacing of first column is squashed.
In that same topic, Foxpup figured out the cause:
Basically, there's a bit of CSS that prevents a gap from appearing between the post icon and the post subject. Without that CSS, your example
[table] would display correctly (like it does when previewed: without the first column being "squashed"), but, then a gap between every post's icon and subject would be visible, like this:
The bug is that that CSS selector is "selecting" more
s than it's supposed to (I mean, it's correctly selecting the s it means to, but it's also selecting other s by mistake).
The quickest fix would be for theymos to change the selector from this:
div#bodyarea table.bordercolor td td td.td_headerandpost td:first-child To this:
div#bodyarea table.bordercolor td td td.td_headerandpost > table td:first-child
(Haha, I mean, there are various ways to fix this, like adding a class="post_icon" to the relevant s and simplifying the selector, or just putting a width="26" on those s, etc., but, that's the least disruptive fix, I think. That second selector, right to left, reads: select all the first-child s that are inside s that are directly parented by s that are inside s that are inside s that are inside s that are inside , at least, I think that's what it says.) The problem with fixing bugs like these is that people have been working around them for so long, that I'd be worried about breaking the workarounds (I mean, they wouldn't be needed anymore, so I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about workaround-remnants displaying in new and subtle ways post-fix). I'd also be worried about changing the environment in which old posts were written, like the first post I linked to: right now, that topic makes sense, you can see the problem that original poster was talking about, but if this bug were fixed, then their example [table] wouldn't be broken, and it would look as though they were confused when they made that post. Basically, the best way to fix problems like these is to leave them affecting posts made before the fix. I can think of a few ways to fix this bug cleanly, but it's going to take a lot of testing before I'd feel comfortable putting together a patch and asking theymos to merge it. In the meantime, the best way to tackle your problem (IMHO), is to use the [nbsp] tag: A non-breaking space is a way to prevent a piece of text from "breaking" into multiple parts when there's not enough room for it to fit comfortably. This can be useful when formatting tables (...)Basically, you should force the column to be wider by making at least one "rigid" width-defining cell. In your case, you could do that by "gluing" together the first column title with three [nbsp] tags, like this: [td][b][u][color=#9966ff]New[nbsp]Added[nbsp]DT1[nbsp]Members[/color][/u][/b][/td]
Edit: I've started to work on this one. Keep an eye out for a future Meta topic called: Squishing the squashed-column bug (SMF patch).

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
May he/she is busy with something that is why he locked the topic and that's also the reason I didn't make him any PM Yea, he is busy with something in real life. He mentioned that to me and it is also evidenced in his signature space. Meanwhile, OP, have you tried going through the locked thread and see if you will read a similar problem and how it was solved there. It seems the problem you encountered isn't a new one.

He also has a discussion thread where you can ask him questions if you are having problems with the formatting of your tables, just like OP has. 1miau BBCode table formatting discussion service Unfortunately, it's currently locked as 1miau isn't available as much as he used to be. You can still send him a PM, though, and he will get back to you as soon as he can. In the previous time I opened a topic about this same table related problem and there many members suggested to ask 1miau on that topic and I was satisfied to get such free assist from 1miau but this time I also checked that topic was locked and that is why I opened this topic. May he/she is busy with something that is why he locked the topic and that's also the reason I didn't make him any PM

1miau has an excellent thread on different templates for tables with BBcodes. Some suggestions if you want to use tables on BitcointalkI try and this one is not perfect, takes you more time than above tables. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | New Added DT1 Members

Yes, I have faced this problem several times. And one of the best ways to overcome the problem when it arises is to create a blank column. [td][nbsp][/td] So, without changing your code too much, it will look like this: [center][b] [table]

Hope this helps. EDIT: The @Upgrade00 / @PX-Z option can also be a good option, but sometimes it may not be the intended design. So most of the time I still prefer the blank column.

Let me try... Just like Upgrade00 did, this actually works in desktop mode. But if you will check it on mobile mode browsers its a messed up as the red one has larger text than the purple one. I guess OP is using mobile posting/editing posts. _____________________________ | _____________________________ | New Added DT1 Members | Previous DT1 Memebers | _____________________________ | _____________________________ | 1. Let's see can we get some solutions. Check my edit above and let me know if that fixes the issue for you. I'll personally prefer a neater fix but that looks to be the best it can get from my end now. Thank you dude neater works for me. I know it took your time to suggest, again thanks for your efforts, I really appreciate you. And that's why I like this community so much, we help each other without any interest.. And thanks from me to all those who have made efforts to fix the problem. I will not lock this topic yet because I want to know if there is other way to fix this. If not, I will lock the topic soon to avoid spamming.

If someone wants, he can quote my OP and take the source codes of the table I created. Even then, for your words, I gave the source codes here. Let's see can we get some solutions. Let me make an inference on how the code cebter is being applied as I see it, I often face problems like this when creating tables like when previewing the table looks nice but when I do the post the table looks broken. | | New Added DT1 Members | Previous DT1 Memebers | 1. Edited: if the above in quote was the intended, then it simply was an issue of how the codes center was applied. It’s a table that already comes in rolls and columns hence, it’s got some form of placement to it. Using the centralized codes will verify much, reposition tables arrangement. All I did there was to remove the code: [center][/center] To have it start from the screen margin rather than the middle. If the above screenshot was the intended of course.

This looks a bit better, I removed the underline tag and added a empty column tag with bunch of "________" to give more space between both rows. Let me know if it helps.

Test [Removed]
Test 2 [Removed] Mahdirakib was brilliant enough to help me with similar issue when I tried to create a table for my thread. Given I failed twice, miserably, though I've try to apply the solution he gave me back then to your situation here, to no avail... hailing him [hoping he uses tg notifier] so he can perhaps come and give some insight about this
Test 3 [Removed] [...] Edited: if the above in quote was the intended, then it simply was an issue of how the codes center was applied. I think what OP wanted is for the "header" of the table to be in one line instead of being in two
Test 4 [removed], I gave up, LOL.
