I'd only recommend BTC and eth. Although the ship has already sailed for these two.

Waves, yes, but with due diligence.

I googled byteball assuming it was some coin that is like 1 dollar.  its over 700 dollars.  I see that earlier it was 25 dollars this year.  That is amazing.  I mean isn't this like bitcoin in a way since it basically just skyrocketed etc?

The other one mobilego.. its a bit over 2 dollars.  yes that seems to be something that one could afford because its cheap.

But what about the ones i mentioned above?  Would you say these two coins you mention are better than those other ones?  Also why is byteball something most ppl never heard of yet its trading at over 700 dollars?

By 'invest', I assume you're buying and holding.  If yes then I would always recommend BTC, XMR and LTC for people who want a 5 year plus holding period.  All the rest is good for trading the trend to gain profit in BTC.

What seems to be the consensus on the top 5 crytocurrency coins now?  Obviously bitcoin is number 1.  ETH is probably 2nd.  But what about 3-5?

My list would be something like this

1.  BTC
2.  ETH
3.  Litecoin
4.  Ripple
5.  Z-cash
6.  Waves

I also hear in this article the 6 other most important currencies besides bitcoin and they have ripple and dash mentioned.

http://www.investopedia.com/tech/6-most-important-cryptocurrencies-other-bitcoin/

ETH is pretty obvious.  Its mentioned it will get bigger than bitcoin.

I googled ripple and its something like $0.30 a coin.  Its also mentioned in this article.  I googled coinmarketcap and ripple is like the 3rd currency in terms of market cap.  If thats the case, why is this not a must buy when its about $0.30 a coin?  I mean, if you buy 1000 of them, thats only $300.  If you buy 5000 of them, thats $1500.  Now imagine ripple goes up to $100.  You would have 5 million dollars etc.

Litecoin i read people mention is like the silver version of bitcoin.  But i read some ppl mentioned litecoin is useless.  Is that true?  It did went up from $30 to $50 and now its $45.

Z-cash I don't know much about it but the price is pretty high at $349.  I read it was something like $4000 when it started out?  Can someone confirm this?  It was also like around $3000 and then dropped to $1000 etc.  It went down to as low as $36 or so.  But now it was went back up.  Does anyone have any thoughts about this coin?  It seems like this coin is very volatile.  But i read zcash is pretty important as a currency.

Waves I do not know much about it.  However, does anyone have opinion on this coin?  This coin started trading at around $0.10 or so and has moved up to $0.50 then $1 and now its up to around $5.  I mean if you invested in this coin when it was say $1... say you bought 5000 of them.  That $5000 would be close to $25,000 now.  And the thing is these coins are so cheap.  So doesn't it seem like when these coins are so low priced... the moment they start rising, you should just buy?  My thinking is well if a coin cost $1... well whats the worst that could happen?  It drop to 0.  First off, is this even possible?  If it does, what happens?  Now if you invest $1000 at $1 each for 1000 coins.  You have the possibility of increasing your investment by 5x, 10x, 50x, 100x, 500x, 1000x the amount etc.  That is certainly possible when i say 1000x when a coin is $0.25 for example.

Does anyone agree/disagree with my list here?  I know i put top 5 and i list 6 because i find zcash and waves pretty close.  I dont know much about investing.  But all i know is buy low and sell high etc.  But if you are buying coins and holding them... waiting for it one day to get big like bitcoin, well my thoughts are shouldn't you buy any coin that is well in the top 15 coin list and when its really cheap but also has increased in value even when it goes from $10 to $50?  I mean look at ETH.  It was like $25... then it went up to $30, $40, $50 and then all the way up to $300.

Also do you guys agree/disagree with my statement that buying a lot of coins when its really cheap is the way to go as long as the coin has shown signs of going up in value?  For example, ripple is 30 cents, it was not even 1 cent earlier.  So imagine you buy 10000 of them. That $100 now is $300.  So if you invested $10000, that amount is $30000.  But of course that is way too risky because it hasn't shown any signs of going up.  But it has went from 1 cent all the way to 30 cents.  I mean isn't that a good reason to buy?  Because if ripple goes up to $30... you would have made 100x your risk amount with the possibility of it going higher etc.
