Hodl whenever you see the market going more dip, if you cant hold by that time then you may sell at an inconvenience rate which may be a loss to you, then some may also decide to sell by that same particular time because they are aiming to reinvest since they believed that the market will go more bearish even after they have sold what they have, all these are part of the reasons why we always insist on making research and speculating well on the market performance through the chart to predict on the possible expectations.
Holding and accumulating when the market is correcting is a good strategy to avoid selling at a loss and increase your chances of getting higher returns when the market recovers. This advice has been mentioned many times and is basically the best way to do it, but not all investors want to do it for various reasons. Panic is usually the reason why they sell at a loss, while they forget that the market will only recover after some time.
If you want to get returns from investments, then be patient and continue holding for the long term. This is what successful investors have done so far with their investment assets, but I admit that each investor has a different approach to their investment time frame. Some hold for several years, others for more than 4 to 10 years.
You can only hold for longer time if you have no urgent needs of your invested funds. This is the very reason why it is always advisable to invest in this market using spare funds. So you can afford to wait for the better timing to sell-off rather than sell-off at a loss. Successful investors are continuously looking for their assets and exploring other opportunities other than what they have.
If you are seeing there is a continuous dip going on in your chosen market, in my opinion, what you can do are the following -
> don't panic and don't sell at a loss, sell only if you are not seeing any chance of recovery (which can happen in most substandard projects)
> check updates for that particular project, understand what's going on so you can plan for your next move
> explore other projects that you believe have good potential, studying it on your own will give you more confidence to invest rather than rely on hearsays
> keep an eye what is being said in their social media channels; in most cases, these devs won't disclose what is happening to the project via their official website but you can get hints from these socmed networks
