Hello mate, I can give assurance that any altcoin will last for 5 years in the market as most of them are just for speculation and not good for a long time holding. But if anyone wants to risk it I will advise you to stick to Bitcoin or ethereum in most cases rather than risking your investment on a meme coin that can easily get dumped within a short time.
When that person knows about bitcoin, he will choose bitcoin for long-term investment and will not waiver even though the bitcoin price keeps going up and down and can cause panic because he knows that's how bitcoin will move.
Maybe he will choose altcoins as a second investment and for his coins, he will stick to the top 10 existing coin list because it can be more profitable in the future. But being a wise investor, he is also thinking of having a third investment where he will select from the top 11 coin list to the top 100-200 coin list and only pick around 5 to 10 coins.
The OP just said it that he knows many things about btc and he didn't questioned it anymore so by there we can assume that he already have his btc investments. He is looking to diversify his funds which is why he seeks for altcoins or tokens suggestions.Maybe he will choose altcoins as a second investment and for his coins, he will stick to the top 10 existing coin list because it can be more profitable in the future. But being a wise investor, he is also thinking of having a third investment where he will select from the top 11 coin list to the top 100-200 coin list and only pick around 5 to 10 coins.
We cannot be sure about the top 10 coins because he aims for a 5 to 6 year long of holding and with that time, there can be a change on how the top 10 coins look where some of these coins are going to be replaced by a new comer. It's not bad to look for coins outside top 10 because they can also have a potential that are not seen inside the top 10 coin list run but it will take some time for them to get mature.

Well, the most important thing i can think of is the use case meaning do people actually use the token for its utility, or is that just hype. The more utility the token has, the more likely it's going to last for years because people get used to things, and it's hard to change people when they're used to this one coin. I'm looking at the top gaming studio tokens and a few low market cap ones like: $ENGN for their ability to implement blockchain onto projects without having to rewrite the whole base code plus their own marketplace, new video game around the corner, and lots of more stuff. $LFI is also one that redefines what gambling projects are. Instead of having to let the house always have the edge, you can bet on the house with $LFI, which gives out annual rewards, plus every time the house gets a cut, you get a cut. I can see these two stay for at least years to come.
I think,small investor and traders can be right choice in altcoin.Because bitcoin is a long term investment crypto so i think it dosent any help in short time.when you want to investment in bitcoin then you need to more patience but i think you will be get good return from it.I'm suggested to if you want to get profit from short time then you can buy most valuable coin.

The top coins that I choose to hold in the long term are ethereum and BNB. those are two coins that currently have the potential to have a high price in the future.

that's a good list. I focus on ethereum, BNB, and Solona. no need to worry about fluctuating market conditions. If you want to know a good coin to buy, especially altcoins, just research for the project development and anything about the project will display then you read them stanza by stanza, to know if the project will be of potential in future, but some use their capitals for researching of good project of coin, affect having huge lost they began to blame themselves and start castigation, Solana have good potentiality Which if invest on it probably they might be Profit in time coming.

Investing in altcoins for such a long time is risky in my opinion, regardless of whether this coin is a top or a shitcoin. The only exception is ethereum, which you need to constantly buy with each correction, thereby increasing its amount in your portfolio.

Check if it is sustainable, has a use case that can solve real problem so it can survive even the market is in bearish. In my portfolio, I have these popular alts (ETH, BNB, LTC) to hold for long period. But im not recommending you to do the same because its best to have your own analysis on why it can be worth it to buy and hold.

at least if investing in top altcoins it is much safer than investing in shitcoins which are not worth for long term investment,
as much as possible to minimize the risk and everyone has their own way

diversification was important strategy that must do for all crypto investors in order to avoid huge loss in same time when only have one assets. by divide our asset into 5 or more portofolio it could distribute risk and profit. maybe asset A could loss but another asset could generate profit.Then what about ETH, BNB, LTC, XRP, all of which are alternative coins that have survived to this day even the price has gone up very high following Bitcoin and this coin is no longer in doubt even for the next 5 years.
those coins proven as liquid assets and have strong value since they launched. maybe only xrp with stable value in several year due SEC problem , if they dont maybe XRP already moon now.

Well I don't know where is your logic here but it seems you already mentioned it above, you know bitcoin will surpass all altcoin and why not allocate all your fund to bitcoin to have assurance on having profit. But well, to answer your question, of course, go for the coin that is at the top of coinmarket cap, they are reliable to invest in like LTC, BNB, and ETH.
