Well it's not the worst addiction in the world and at least you can make money from it. I know the feeling though sometimes I catch myself constantly checking price charts. Sometimes its just better to hold your coins and forget about them for a long time.
the spirit to continue to monitor the price chart in trading is not an addiction like gambling, activities like this are very reasonable if we really want profits, so there is no successful trading without us knowing the price movements that occur from time to time.Addiction would only come if you don't control yourself on what you are doing.
It's just normal to look at the chart as we want to see a timely information, even news we can also find information that's very helpful.
But, like I said, we need to learn how to control ourselves, if we want to do it for long term, we should learn how to manage our time effectively and that requires a discipline on our part as trader.
