the price could pump too much especially btc because people cant diversify too much and will foccus more on it .   the price of 1 btc could be 30k now or more  .

im not going to be exage here because you said there are still other coins and not just btc.  we need alts because they can provide other useful service that arent really good when we use our btc's  . the problem is not also on the quantity but we must consider the quality too  .

Exactly what you were told from the beginning, this time is call TEST OF TIME and am convinced that crypto will fall back on track after this little trial that's why crypto is different from fiat
The problem is sometimes people don't know what is being tested at the moment, so that gives birth to a different understanding of each person, and if I may know what is being tested at this time, friend?

It will be more special if cryptocurrency consists only of 20 coins. The investors will just focusing on these 20 coins thus making the market more valuable. Since there are lots of coins as of now that are useless in crypto community, hundreds of them were left behind. Then we can say that top coins in coinmarketcap were just the ones patronized by majority of investors.

This is a tough question but Crypto space will definitely look good with time, it's true we have had couple if challenges regarding market and also had issues with scammers but I am certain Crypto space will definitely look so amazing very soon. Let's keep pushing and be positive as things will turn out good. Bitcoin halving should also improve the market
Hopefully 5-10 years from now, crypto space will be composed only of potential altcoins and bitcoin that will definitely survive in the market. Many dead altcoins will now be gone already and those scammers cannot enter the crypto market anymore. Crypto community will not be as huge as today but in this way, we can be more comfortable of our crypto coins and despite of its volatility, we can still be profitable once these crypto coins start to pump.

What will crypto space look like if all the coins we have now is just 20 pieces? And that is it, no thousands or hundreds allow, I wonder how profitable they will be because there will be badass huge volume and huge investors too, I think crypto problem is the quantity of coins we have

Am not seeing what you are currently seeing though because the possibility of the entire cryptospace to be granded to 20 pieces will not be realise as cryptocurrency mean decentralization. Basically the problem of the market today is much of the manipulation between the sincerity of the holders and that of the whales. Whales actually contributed to the hell we're are all facing this time and not because of thousands of coins in the cryptocurrency space.

If they are to be only 20 pieces, the market will be more manipulative than what we have been seeing this days.

The market cap will be concentrating on those 20 coins. This is just my prediction only but remember if that will not enough if we have only 20 coins. As far as i know, if each coin to be used as a tokenization for its platform. I think if we are only seeing a small amount of coins and we will not have a huge community.

it is clear that there will be no more fierce competition and everyone will take the coin seriously, without knowing if it will be good going forward, because there will be only 20 coins and nothing more.
I think it will be ineffective in the long run.whenever there should be more development.

Market cap for each coin will be huge and you can also think what crypto will look like if there's no altcoin and it's just bitcoin. Everyone will invest to bitcoin and keep it for sure.
We don't actually need a lot of coins, let's wish that few years from now many altcoins will be gone and the best will remain.
I think the main concern, in this case, should be the centralization caused by if those coins are not truly decentralized and it can be manipulated by all of them. We can see even with these huge quantities of the existing coins in the market and there was a lot of centralized coins
We are quite aware that many of these altcoins are not decentralized which makes others think that it's not a good reason to invest in altcoins.
That is the reason which makes them sure that bitcoin is the best and it's not that centralized like those altcoins. The beauty of the market will be seen if we only have a few altcoins.

depending on the coin, if it has an effect or impact on the economy the price will go up and not have much effect on the supply.
even though a lot of supply won't have much effect on its value.

In my opinion it is very unlikely to happen, but if only 20 units would be very competitive and prices would be more stable. But to realize it, strict regulations are definitely needed and Crypto becomes less attractive
There will be a very strict competition and the price will worth a lot of money that makes not so many people can reach that price. A small cap for total coins are good but in my opinion, the community will be totally centralized. I guess if the result will be the same as the current market when those communities are supporting their own coins.

If that thing will happen, then people will surely be focusing more into those number of remaining coins in the market because the number is not the validity on the market. What matters most after all is the quality of the coins to become valuable. If that scenario will happen, then people will no longer be confused or be having a hard time to seek or look into the numerous variety of coins in the market. It will be an easy option to choose among the remaining coins in the market. It will not be too bad if that thing will happen as long as those coins that will remain will be the best of the best or meaning only those top valuable and potential coins will remain in the market. We do not need hundreds or thousands of coins that share the same features. What we need are coins that is versatile that can be useful in any manner which makes it a worthy and valuable coin. If that so will happen, then for sure crypto space will not be crowded with too many coins in the market.

there is also a positive side if the number of coins that eventually becomes small. because investors can invest in just a few coins, and so the volume, market cap, and price may be pumped quickly. but is it effective? it still needs to be proven, investors don't necessarily want to invest if there are only a few choices in the market. but I think it can be seen from the history of bitcoin which at that time was only 1 coin, then many altcoins appeared, and precisely since the emergence of the many altcoins the bitcoin price could have pumped to the highest price. but the number of 20 pieces I think is enough, because when viewed from the list of crypto on coinmarketcap from number 1 to 20 is a crypto with great potential.

If the number of coins is only 20, the crypto will not be as famous now and is limited to a few parties. Like when cryptocurrency was first created. There was only a very small number of altcoins at the time. And apparently, crypto is not popular, limited to only a few people.
A large number of coins may be a sign that crypto is very popular and booming in various circles. However, that is one thing that also makes lots of coins worthless. So, more or fewer coins certainly have their advantages and disadvantages.

In a simple and direct answer, it will be a highly attractive and valued space which everyone who aims to be part of the future of a great Industry can't afford to miss. But nowadays, scammers and worthless coins has changed everything.
Of a truth, if the crypto space is to have such number of coins although it might not be that particular number but a far lesser number than what we have today it would be a wonderful thing because there are chances we will be seeing top-notch projects each fighting to come up with developments that will make them worthy of investing. Although there will still be scammers etc but won't be as much as it is today.

I also agree things probably wouldn't change much. I see and have seen people invest in newer coins, especially around 2017, but there's much less of those people than the majority that just trades the few large-cap coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. I still think it'd be horrible if there were only 20 coins being traded, though, because the Top X coins change all the time, for better and for worse, and innovations come with these newer coins. Just take a look at the screenshots on Coinmarketcap from years back.

If the crypto market only had 20 coins, crypto would not be as popular now. I only compared it to a minimarket that only has 20 products traded, can the minimarket grow and become popular? No, that is what I think and all the altcoins circulating in the market now compete with each other to grow and become the best. This competition will have a positive impact on market capitalization.
~
That's right, diversity will create positive competition in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Each developer will try to offer the best service and innovation in order to meet the needs of consumers. These diverse needs provide a good opportunity to be used as the basis for making unique innovations, so it is normal for many cryptocurrencies to develop to date.

This is really true, less number of coins means that there will be enough competition among these coins which will cause the team to keep working hard so as to be relevant thus leading to more volume and more investors just like you pointed out. Yes, one of the problems of crypto is the quantity of coins in which many where created and used as a means to scam, some for pump and dump; of which we have seen many of them. Also, from the thousands of coins out there in the crypto space only a lesser few actually knows what it means to be in crypto and such coins are the ones constantly growing and attracting more users.
