Doge is a fad. The internet loves a meme, but memes eventually get old, and then they become annoying. Except cat pictures, obv.

Dog pictures with money might have more staying power than you'd think.  Dogecoin is nowhere near the scale of market penetration many memes have achieved.  Many suckers, such pump.  The good news is, it spreads the idea of cryptocurrency and makes Bitcoin look stable and professional by comparison.

+1 my goodness Bitcoin looks like the pillar of stability compared to alt-coin madness.

Litecoin already rallied due to addition on Chinese exchanges - it can't get any better than that.  Also, on a good day for Litecoin on btce, it does about 10 times more volume in btc than btc does on mtgox... The only way up for Litecoin now is more commercial adoption or investors like SecondMarket.

I lost belief in Litecoin, compare Litecoin community to DOGE, it is like comparing the walking dead to a crazy puppy.

I am going with the Puppy. BTW, I rode LTC from 100 million to a billion and dumped it just recently because DOGE has tickles me.

lol sold Litecoin for a coin with a picture of a dog on it and billions of coins , Smart investing man .

Litcoin hits 6 billion value , once a major exchange picks it up.

BTC-e is one of the major exchanges, its volume is higher than MtGox.

What do people actually do with their dogecoins? Can you spend them somewhere? Any projects?

http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/

The community is convinced they are different in terms of spend how, when, where (embracing tipping for example), however, you can decide

right now DOGE is on the cusp again on Cryptsy, might be another crazy 7 am to 10 am China time run....

or it will go down Smiley

This Doge craze makes me wonder, if a big corporation like Google would create their own flavor of cryptocoin,
that would only allow people to make money from transactions fees, but not minting, and had a cute mascot, how successful would it be?

Google would fail

snapchatcoin, make coins with every snapchat: crypto coin, tradeable, spendable, exchangeable

vinecoin, make coins with every view on your vine

something of that ilk will happen and when it does if paired with the right product and trend it will destroy

Anybody want to change their vote? DogeCoin only needs X4 to make X10 from my original post.  Actually, shocked it received the least votes. Almost like this forum is made up of old dudes that aren't paying attention.

I think DogeCoin will land as clear #3 in cap by mid year. Most diverse mining community, maybe most individual miners, halving of difficulty coming in February, has the second most online support.

Yes i hold DOGE Smiley

this is the first time i see DOGE mentioned in speculation forum as a bitcoin "rival". Look at its history, it's been nothing more than pump-->dump--->pump-->dump constantly with no real rise in value. There are a lot of people who bought into DOGE which is why it's still alive.

The only thing i see DOGE taking off for real is if DOGE road actually happens.

Well it would be great if there were some Alt-coin market research out there.

However, it is my two cents that the biggest thing Doge has going for it is that the demographic of supporters for DOGE appear to be quite different than for any other coin.

Apple computer became Apple computer by selling to my mom and my 12 year old, not by selling to my geek friend down the street.

How big is the market for crypto-uniquess, crypto-innovation, crypto-investment? I would say Bitcoin will probably tell you.
How big is the market for crypto-fun, crypto-wow, crypto-friends? I would say DOGE will end up telling you.

Is doge coin really any good, or anything special, or do people just like it because it has a cute dog as a mascot and todays weird kids like dog memes?

I worry about the founding members cashing out and abandoning it, but I consider it tops in social momentum by far for all alts. and I think most people don't give a rats ass about innovation in cryptocurrency. Is it a scam, no +1, are my friends digging it, yes + 2, I am in.
